In fact because of the Middle eastern taboo of men touching women that they were not married to, it was the deaconesses who actually did the baptising while the elder said the words of Matthew 28:19.

@IDH77 The Greek word (Diakonos) should be translated servant in every instance. Those biased KJV translators were trying to make the use of diakonos into an office. It is not, it denotes servanthood, vast distinction.
