  • Tsar Bomba (U.S.S.R.) is by far the most powerful nuclear warhead ever tested, yielding 50 Megatons of TNT. It could have yielded 100 Megatons, but they reduced the yield to reduce radiation. the fireball could be seen from over 500 miles away.

  • U.S.A! U.S.A! OOORAAAH!!!

  • nice specail effects wat movie is this?

  • @PS3z05133 Reality.

  • A lightning strike turns water in the air into helium, oxygen, gamma wave radiation and heat. This I learned on my M.Eng. And 1.2 x 10 to the 2 0 Watts of power for three sections.

  • tsar bomba was the largest

  • @JonThm Lightning creates mostly ozone and nitrous oxide, with no appreciable gamma photons. There's not enough energy to split Nitrogen or Oxygen into smaller nuclei from a lightning strike.

  • Physis documents teh reelase of H, O3, gamam waves and heat from lightnign. I have an M.Eng in this stuff

  • @JonThm

No it doesn't, according to the laws of physics, and if you had any degree at all in this "field" which you can't even name you would know this. And I bet you'd probably have better spelling and grammar. 'Nuff said.

  • @JonThm Its not "gamam" its gamma. You fail. You don't have a degree in shit.

  • hey, we have to make these stuff. weapons advances our technology.

  • damn wonder how many species died when that went off in the water

  • Comment removed

  • i love how the announcer is like 'i know you will hope this test well' and then when they show the explosion 50's horror music starts playing. too great.

  • Ligtening is nuclear fusion

  • @JonThm

IT FUCKIN IS NOT. god damn your stupid.

  • @KymeraGR7 I have an M.Eng in this stuff. I am not the stupid one here idiot!

  • @JonThm In what stuff? Can you even come up with the name of that field? Please. Lighting is a discharge of electricity caused by the friction of molecules in the clouds. It doesn't even get hot enough to fuse any of the elements present in our air. Nuclear fusion is hydrogen nuclei slamming together under enormous heat and pressure (usually at many millions of degrees) to create helium. I learned that in high school. What did you drop out or something? Fucktard.

  • @KymeraGR7 Lightening and water falls form He, O, low powser gasmma rays and heat

  • Tsar Bomba was not eighty megatons. It was fifty-seven.

  • The music was appropriate for expressing the horror of this atrocious device.

  • number 1 is tsar bomb number 2 castle bravo and number 3 is this one.

  • 2 bean burritos might go beyond that video if you go to a reputable mexican spot

  • The Soviet Union (USSR) actually detonated the worlds largest nuclear bomb. The Tsar Bomba, was a Hydrogen bomb that was over 50 Megatons or equivalent to 50 million tons of TNT.

  • H-O-L-Y s***

  • Tsar Bomba was almost 6 times bigger. Developed and detonated a few years later.

  • Who posted this vid? Yes, Ivy-Mike (15 MT) was the largest fireball of 1952, but the Soviet "Tsar Bomba" of 1961 was (at 80 MT) the largest man-made fireball of all time! Try a little research before you post a vid with extravagant claims, please...

  • @cumberjamesfearon1 You should research too, ivy mike was 10mt and the Tsar Bomba was 57mt

  • @Finestassassin45 My references are as follows. For IVY-MIKE, was "The Effects of Nuclear Weapons", published by the DoD and the DoE, 1977 edition. This is the standard reference for the subject. For Tsar Bomba, it was "The Penkovskiy Papers" by the late Col. Oleg Penkovskiy, Soviet GRU. They were papers which he smuggled out of the Soviet Union and for which he was executed in the middle 1960s.

  • We finally think of a way to easily create extreme amounts of energy and we treat it like fire works and raid. WTF?

  • Kamaye Hamaye Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • looks like dragon ball z haha:P

  • Jesus that looks like the apocalpyse!!!

  • @rrpauldoran ye well it very nearly was, if the soviets started another war, the morons would have nuked over half the planet by the time it was over.

life as we know it would have ended very soon after.

  • @snake172

Do you know how many Nuclear devices were detonated from the end of the 40's until 1998!?....Alot more than would have been in the event the Cold War went Hot.

Just because they were "Tests" does not mean that Massive High Yield Nuclear Bombs were not Detonated all over Planet Earth and our Atmospheres..even Space.

If you think that this is in anyway different to Nuclear War Please Tell Me How?

  • @BrodyLuv2 most of them were underground or high atmospheric tests, the ones which weren't were done in controlled environments to make sure fallout would be limited..... its one thing to blow up a nuke in the middle of nowhere or in space as opposed to someone's garden or a city centre.

not that those tests haven't already made an impact on human health........

  • @snake172

If you have the time I think you may be interested to watch a video here on YT that shows you over a 2d Map all the Detonations of Nuclear Devices from the late 40's all through till' 1998..it starts of a little slow but then the amount of blasts increase dramatically..really an amazing eye-opener..

The name of the video here on YT is "Alert Mankind Has Nuked Himself Alert" A bit dramatic I know, but I urge you to take a look.

    Cheers.

  • @BrodyLuv2 cant find it through the search function for some reason, mind sending me a link or something?

  • @snake172

Its' in my Favourites on my channel..16th one down from the top of the list.

    Enjoy.

  • just imagine this was before they learned about radiation every one of them including the camera operator had the ball bags mutated the very moment they saw the boom

  • waste of atmosphere

if a had to fart it would be bigger

  • i beg to differ, the tsar bomb wass much bigger

  • Correct. Tsar Bomba had over 5 times the yield of Ivy Mike.

  • exactly- largest ever

  • well this isnt the tsar bomb, so it isnt the largest.

  • I would love to see a nuclear explosion. But I hope to NEVER do.

  • @kornweasel

    well said

  • incredible, especially when it transitions from fireball to mashroom cloud at about 1:39, the power of the sun on earth!

  • Now I Know How Much Radiation is in the World...

  • just sick what humans do....

  • I think you mean fucking glorious. :3

  • @55758 pussy!

  • @55Don't blame it on all humans it's just

lets say a certain class of humans

my class doesn't do all this

    type shit..

  • @55758 the tsaar is far worse

  • FAIL! The Soviet Tsar Bomba detonation in Novoya Zemlya (also observed by human eye) was "only" about 6 times as powerful.

  • At the time the narration was correct. This explosion was in 1952. Tsar Bomba was in 1961.

  • Yes and now misleading when taken out of the timeline context of trinity and beyond, and the video labelled as the world's largest.

  • and they did this with know the possible out come was that the explosion might set off a world destructive blast and they did it anyway.

  • I think some thought it would ignite the atmosphere, and further feed the explosion.

  • so thats what happens when chuck norris farts

  • Umm no... Tsar Bomba was, what was special about this is that it was the first hydrogen/thermonuclear bomb.

  • its just a red tennis ball exploding...no big deal xD JK

  • BOOM!!!

  • We should combine 100000000000000000000000 of those and put it into one nuke and then drop it on Jupiter. That would be liek a freakin' fly compared to a car's windshield...

  • hell yeah!!!! Let's nuke Jupiter!

  • such shit special effects for watever dat movie is called. suppose it was made in what, 1952?

  • Obvious troll is obvious.

This is an actual nuclear weapon.

  • I think its new mate, looks like avatar.

  • If only there were high definition/high speed cameras in those days.

  • @qualityisrare

Why did this guy get a thumbs up? What a non statement... just... nothing. uh.

  • Cause it's YouTube, and people will be people.

  • Hmm a mountain mover

  • Can someone smart clear something up for me... Is it actually a fireball? I mean is there actually something like flames there or is it just a huge ball of plasma?

  • I'm pretty sure that as the plasma cools, it becomes flame and then fizzles, but due to the heat it produces, there is a lot more plasma.

  • There is actually no fuel to combust aside from things on the ground so this is not a "fireball" of fire. When an atomic or hydrogen bomb goes off, it bathes everything around it in an extreme dose of every known form of radiation. From radio waves to gamma rays. This huge amount of energy causes air to turn into a plasma state much like lightning or how a focused high powered laser can produce holograms out of plasma pixels.

  • Sorry, yeah that was me. Shouldn't have eaten all those chilli cheese dogs with jalapenos. And of course all that soda didn't help.

  • Every other creature adapts to survive in harmony with Earth's resources. They have done for over 100 Million years.

Mankind turns up and has been around for the equivalent of 3 seconds (going by the age of Earth) and begins to destroy it with pollution, high consumption which cannot be sustained and war/weapons.

Not long until Mankind destroys itself and everything else on Earth.

There's nothing left to blame this on except for yourselves.

  • Whatever, you're saying this like Earth is a weak piece of rock.

Sure, we'll wipe ourselves off the face of the earth, but like you said, our existence is but a mere few seconds. Earth and it's ecosystem will recover over time, it's got a few billion years to recover until the sun becomes a fatass and burns it clean.

  • JamRunner I think you misread what I put. Earth is definitely not weak, but it is defenceless against our environmental impact.

As for recovery, the Earth will not recover to it's original state. The ozone layer will force heat to be bounced back and build up over time, oil, nagtural gases and coal will be depleted.

What was a habitable planet will be reduced to a boiling hot rock.

You get a 'Thumbs Up' though for an intelligent response to my comment.

  • What about you? Do you take any responsibility?

  • I have a responsibility as does everyone else to try and remove conflict/hate/war/energy consumption etc. However, it is not and will never be enough for a select few to try and help; everyone needs to.

With humankind's ever-growing desire for power, wealth and control will come the final war; where there are no winners.

  • And how do you, personally, intend to try and remove conflict/hate/war/energy consumption etc.? Please specify.

  • Well naturally some things are out of my personal control. I cannot decide when war occurs for example.

I recycle, use less energy at home, use sustainable energy such as my small garden wind turbine which powers my garden lighting and 4 solar panels on my roof. I also cycle whenever possible over driving.

As for hate, I am a positive person. I talk to everyone with respect; 99% of the time I get it back. If copied, 2 people being respectful could turn into 100, 1000, or even a million.

  • You have a small garden wind turbine??? Did I read that right??? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!But what about the carbon your campfire emits? Singing Kumbaya while playing your 100% unrecyclable guitar only adds to your carbon footprint. Such hypocrisy.

  • I do indeed have a turbine; it measure approximately 12" square and sits on top of my shed.

I don't have campfires in my garden, nor sing Kumbaya I'm not a religious person. What about the carbon released from forest fires with extreme one spreading for miles?

I have a wind turbine, solar panels, cycle when possible, talk to every I meet with respect and recycle.

Where is the hypocrisy in that?

  • Have you performed a thorough environmental assessment of the detrimental effects your turbine may have on the migratory patterns of birds, bees, butterflies, moths, etc.? I suspect not. Do you know if the disruptive air currents your turbine produces impedes the mating habits of the spotted owl? I suspect not. Such deliberate environmental ignorance is appalling. How dare you claim to be friend of the environment. You have been outed as a poseur and fraud. You should be ashamed of yourself.

  • That is a pathetic claim with no backable reason to it. You're a terrible excuse for someone who is bitter for being made to look like the idiot you are. Run along now.

  • Your turbine is destroying the planet. You are evil.

  • And you sir, are an idiot.

  • @sollidottingen

    Go fuck yourself.

  • What an original comment! You sure put them brains you've got to good use. I am impressed by your intellect and wan't to give birth to your children!

To bad they will turn out idiots like you -.-

  • By the way, thumbing up your comments because it's refreshing to have someone ask questions as opposed to say things like "shut the f*** uk" etc.

  • Don't worry, dynamic717 is just a troll. See how he's fighting so hard when he is clearly wrong from every angle and has no point? Why would someone fight to be wrong unless they're just a common troll. Make sure not to feed them or they get larger. Just give these trolls a thumbs down when you see them or mark it as spam since it is really. You don't need to reply unless it's to inform people that they are indeed a troll.

  • Do you also have a wind turbine in your garden?

  • "Grok, gimmie dem chillins so me can fill my tummy" says the troll.

  • Oh...ok then.

  • yes ; )

  • Reading this thread you can see man's tendency of arrogant violence and stupidity that makes people drop these bombs.

  • ww3 nuclear war

  • humans are stupid sometimes

  • always

  • yup yup

  • Go look at the test of Russia's "Ivan", then you will see the world's biggest manmade fireball.

  • i thought the tsar was the largest

  • "Ivan" is the Tsar Bomba.

  • No one gives a shit! lol

  • gay

  • After contemplating some more, I must ask you what kind of logical thinking you (tried) to employ when making these statements "largest fireball ever" and so on. There is no absolutely nothing that can support this statement.

  • FYI the castle fireball was 6 km wide, and tsar's was 9.5 km wide (ground burst fireballs are hemispherical, so they are smaller than airbursts like tsar).

  • what are you talking about, CHANGE THE TITLE OF THIS VIDEO: THE SIZE OF THE FIREBALL IS PROPORTIONAL TO THE YIELD OF THE WEAPON. TSAR BOMBA THUS PRODUCED THE LARGEST FIREBALL EVER, ALMOST 10 TIMES BIGGER THAN THIS ONE IN VOLUME. Yes I used capslock to see if you would listen to me...

  • i don't think it's real

  • its real

  • i dont think your very smart

  • Sehr spektakulär.. aber gegen die Zar-Bombe ist das hier nichts. *klugscheissmodeoff*

  • ZE GOGGLES, DEY DO NOZEEENG

  • xD

    0_0

  • What is terrifying is not the music. But the fact that the narrator expected us to wish them success with their endeavour for the sake of the nation and the people.

That is the most terrible thing. The fireball was beautiful. The humans were horrifyingly enthralled by it.

  • tsar bomba produced the largest blast and mushroom cloud but this is the largest fireball ever, remember the fireball only lasts a few seconds

  • 1. Goku dosn't exist.

    2. The sad truth about this video is that this is not the largest man-made fireball.

    3. The largest fireball is from the tsar bomba-a russian nuclear weapon that scored 56 megatons. Ivy mike only got to about 3 mega tons.

    4. The americans actually got a nuclear device with a larger yeild. it was called Castle Bravo.

    5. Dunno

    6. Furries are awsome

  • It was the largest man made fireball at the time.

  • well at THAT time but ok.

  • Goku can do that with one hand

  • goku is gay

  • LMAO

  • haha!

  • lol looks like a dbz explostion

  • Epic rape.

  • with the low quality of the image of the 50' it looks much much scaryer !!lol

  • bravo 15mt largest nuke buy american

however a 100kt would be more pratical to use agingst a country

  • ok you do realize this is from 1952 right?

  • 1 need 100Megatonn on America))) uhahahahahaha

  • wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, look up the Tsar Bomba, makes Mike look like a little firecracker going off if you compare the stats

  • want one in your head?

  • At the time it WAS the biggest bomb

  • Finally, someone else who gets it! Simple facts!

  • - PEOPLE responsible for a Hydrogen bomb Were Hungarian Edward Teller and Polish Stanislaw Ulam .. THOSE nations in USA are still considered SECOND CLASS RACE . Hungarian and Polish ,,

  • Russia is going fucking insane with making weapons. They're all fucking assholes, they're not going to fix anything by creating huge nuclear weapons. Look at Japan, they're inventing fucking robots that dance and play trumpets. That's what I call amazing.

  • Tsar was purely a political move: Saber rattling. The USSR wanted to show they had the biggest saber. However, Tsar Bomba had little if any military use. Tsar was inefficient, wasting 75% of its energy into space. Delivery systems that are accurate to a few feet at intercontinental range? That's freaking amazing...

    and DEADLY!

  • there are americans who actually care that this is happening you know. We are not all corrupt and "obese american burger munching bastards". Did you know that when Saddam Hussein was caught he ate Dorito's in prison, cause that was his favorite snack? And I don't consider our country dumb. Yes our government is morally corrupt but so are a lot of other governments. I read and don't watch T.V. and don't give in to the media so why so much hatred? I love you so WHY CAN'T YOU LOVE ME/US? *sniffle*

  • i never said you were obese cheesburger munching bastards.

I should've phrased that better when i said dumb i should've said governmant n such ( i dunno if it still is with your new president )

    Anyway i apologise for that.

  • Don't apologize, they are obese cheesenurger munchin bastards

  • you do know the Americans would use this shit if they were losing a war, even if it meant the destruction of the world.

You may be the most powerful country n the world but your also the dumbest, fact, not an insult, although it is offensive but i don't care.

  • yeeaaaap. somthing to look forward to. nuclear war is gonna be ....good times.....

  • And you act as though every other country wouldnt?

  • Tsar Bomb

  • they waste so much time and effort in sort of thing...u know i wish that all the nuclear active countries should to a world's first...make a 100 million tons of tnt and blow it up in the dessert ot sth...oh and don't forget to add all of the world's fossil fuels with it...^_^ that would be one hell of a show...i bet u can barbque chicken from 4000 miles away ^_^...its a fucked up dream but hey, you'll never know....

  • Tsar Bomba is the largest explosion in the world but at the time Mike was the largest

  • that looked unreal.

  • yes russia kick our ass but the dont launch it its only to scare us , but be aware if america makes a mistake booo0000m we die..

  • if russia wanna fuck with america there wont be a country left on earth buddy

  • Every nuclear active nation should team up and wipe usa from existence!!!!

  • i dont agree

  • i agree, usa are ganancious and unaware of it's acts.

  • u remind me of my father...lol....seriously... -_-" are u him?

  • son ;D \o\ *open arms* LOL

    no, i'm not him =P

  • hell yea !

  • perhaps i should call my army buddies and get them to wipe you from exsistance.

I can only think of one insult strong enough for you:

    Your mother... failed.

  • Or should i call mine...

you obese american burger munching bastard..hows that for an insult stupid little bitch. The last time i herd someone say your mother was when i was 15yr back at school. You have a lot of growing up to do.

  • you know, if you were at my college, i'd break your nose right now for two reasons. One because you dissed america, and two because of your lame come back. You just proved my point because she didn't even teach you to insult correctlly.

  • Well i am not at your college so just deal with it. America will suffer soon or later. Obese burger muching bastards is not really a diss, it's fact

  • Jedi, shut the fuck up you red neck cunt

  • please don't hit canada?

  • Wow. That was a hell of an explosion. What bothers me, though, is the background music.... It sounds like some 1950s B-movie.

  • Well, it was a 1950s B movie. I guess it would sound that way.

  • why did they do that anywayz....

  • I dunno. Maybe because they didn't know if would work? It's a fucking nuclear test. You know. *Test.* Does this shit work or not? We don't know! Let's test it and find out!

  • stop it at 1:37 and it looks like a sun that is like 1,000 miles from earth lol

  • lol, i noticed that...

  • Basically it is the same thing

  • thats what we live for for! believe the propaganda then laugh at how stupid it was in 50 years

  • ............................and people wonder why the world is in such distress with problems like global warming and stuff like that

  • Huh? I don't think you know much about nuclear weapons if you say that.

  • Carbon tax seems a bit ridiculous after watching a few of these lol!

  • that was just a 10 megaton H bomb....now, we ...and when i say " we " i mean the rest of the world. We have 10 .. 20 - 30 kiloton warheads in each missile. Just Imagine!

  • Vegita, what is the power level of the H bomb?

    IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAND!!
