Well ya it is far away and these bombs were used in Vietnam to clear the trees for a landing zone, so it doesn't need a fireball it uses it's huge shock wave that you can clearly see to blast the trees to pieces. It's massive, can clear a square mile wide helicopter pad, they were used in Vietnam. Now we have slightly more powerful conventional bombs like the MOAB...and I think that's it for now. The BLU-82 has been the largest non nuclear bomb in the US inventory from Vietnam till up to a year or so ago.
