  • 3% to win on the turn nice 'odds' espn...

  • @TonyScrilla those odds are in case a jack hits the river : basically a jack pops they both play the board, 3 jacks in the deck 6, 7% of a river jack means they'd spli the pot, meaning he'd win HALF the pot = half of 6% is 3%

  • what a call

  • classic tell..player who's bluffing cannot laugh or giggle genuinely..nervous smile from gavin shows he's bluffing.

  • thats 2005 actually shame Gavin lost

  • in 2010 its probably standard, but in 04 i guess it was a much tougher decision for gavin

  • uhhh kinda standard HU call?

  • That is the difference between a pro and a home player.

  • Excuse me. What did say Gavin Smith on minute 2. second 17 please? Thank you.

  • "Peter i got a weak heart man stop doing that to me", thats what he said

  • It's very difficoult making sick call, it's very difficoult. Pure psicology

  • @Juanbarba WOW you mean psychology? lol

  • @pobox113 Because in my experience, I'm very weak player and if would be there, sure i will fold because it's easy being a person with panic

  • @Juanbarba haha i know, seriously, i would have a panic attack lol

  • @pobox113 that's right. The panic attack.

  • "i don't know why I don't believe ya. You seem like an honest fellow" lol

  • He wouldnt bet the river with a J or QQ or KK...so it was either an Ace/Busted Draw/Stone cold bluff...chances are that his opponent doesnt have the A a large % of the time

  • @88duffman88 lol wut

  • Gavin Smith...one of the most underrated player out there...

  • There were only five cards in the deck that could beat Smith's hand. Easy call.

  • @Aedis8 I would LOVE to play against you because that kind of logic leads to stupid donkey calls ALL THE TIME

  • @stratocaster0842 lol, "that kind of logic"... You mean math? :D. Dude, heads-up, 5 cards that kan beat you, if you don't call that you are the one who is getting bluffed out of his shoes all the time (no need for capitals there btw, mr pokerpro ;-))

  • @Aedis8 Things do happen that are unlikely. All the time. Even if there's only one hand that can beat you, you have to trust your read.

  • What a silly discussion about the 2 pair, he has 2 pair, AA88

  • if this online the bluff woulda worked like a charm

  • Lon said two pair on the river lol!

  • he did have 2 pair aces and eights -.-

  • Good Call

  • its heads up, if u have a pair ur prolly ahead

  • SHARKSCOPE i like that one

  • river a 5, two pair gives Gavin the checkmark, what is wrong with that? why ppl allways look for little errors, which even dont exist

  • cause the 5 didnt improve his hand. he already had two pair.

  • of course not, i dont understand where the problem is, AA88 is 2 pair, so what? the moderater said 5 on the river because there is a 5 on the river, that doesnt mean that the 5 makes 2 pair, but the AA88 yes, so what?

  • the commentator says the 5 gives him 2 pair, but ti doesnt, he had 2 pair aces and 8's anyway the 5 didnt even play

  • I dont think he meant that - he was basically announcing his hand after the river fell. Thats what i think anyway.

  • Oh i see, i was thinking he was said "and the 5 gives him 2 pair and the check mark!" just misheard him.

  • no he didnt say the 5 gives him two pairs, that means gavin has two pairs aces and 8s, if river was for example an ace it would means he got a full house, another J would give both 2 pairs 8 high so its nothing wrong with that comment, that he got two pairs

  • Saturday night fever check ! BRILLIANT

  • LOL LOOK THIS GUY UP ON SHARKSCOPE

  • What's his username?

  • gavin smith

  • He said 2 pair but he allready had 2 pair on the turn.

  • He never said that the river 5 was the card that gave him 2 pairs... he only said his hand was 2 pairs.

  • @070diego070 he said 2 pair gives him the checkmark idiot.

  • Most underrated player.

  • agreed, definitely up there!

  • not that good a call, unlikely guy would have bet with aces heads up. just bout workin out wether he thort he had jack or not

  • LOL you're kidding, right? What would he be betting out? 9T?

It's either a bluff or a valuebet, and that can be anything from KK, QQ to a jack or an ace...

  • ok ty

  • one time peter feldman ate an entire piece of dog shit for 200 dollars paid for by his friends back in new jersey

  • good call, but gavin still lost that tournament :D

  • "Gavin smith is a complete donk" - Barry Greenstein

  • when and where did barry say that?

  • Great call! Great Canadian boy!

  • Gavin Smith is underrated!

  • uh oh

that chuckle on his face, that might be the giveaway.

  • its all so easy to see great calls like this but these youtube videos never show the great players making quality value bets on river and people like gavin smith paying them off. people watch these videos and think he makes great calls like this all the time but in reality this is a negative equity call against a conservative opponenent

  • i agree totally to what u said but i think in this case it was indeed a physical read on his opponent that made him call, namely that little chuckle at 1:49

  • wow gavin so too good ive seen him make several really great decisions in difrent poker shows

  • gavin smith is one of the best players out there.

  • @beamer7575

    naw he's a drunk

  • Weak Players??? Both are temendous...great bluff and Norman Chad nailed it...."World Class Call"

The stones it takes to stay with your read and make that call.....sick call

  • tard.

  • turd.

  • 01:02, "The river gives gavin two pairs" .. When the turn paired the board, he already had two pairs ?

  • yes obviously a mistake

  • You obviously have some shit confused here.

He already had 2 pair, the river doesn't "gets" him 2 pair as the announcer says; it didn't improve his hand at all.

  • i hope you dont play poker for money.

  • lol donkaments

  • Gavin Smith is one of my favorites because he's a real person not some prick like Hellmuth and he is all business at the table. Big thumbs up to Gavin Smith.

  • if he's going to call on the turn, he has to call on the river. If feldman has a pair, he's not going to value bet the river. the only thing he bets the river is with an ace. when gavin called the turn, he put him on no air right there. plus, he definitely wouldn't check the turn there with an ace. Also, you can raise any two heads up.

  • easy call i think.. the only hand he could have had was K-J and that was what worried Gavin.. if he had an Ace he would have not bet on the turn.. he would not have raised with any Jack except K-J, so it seemed like a bluff. definitely needs a great player to call, but i think feldman bluffed so badly here.. nice call gavie

  • heads up you think he doesn't raise with any J, that's not KJ... wow... can we play heads up?

  • this is dumb thinking...i'd bet the turn if i had an ace, i feldman would too. most jack high hands are favorite heads up so they deserve a preflop raise. q8 and k8 are also faves heads up so they deserve a raise. also pocket pairs 8 or bigger beat gavin. yeah it was a great call but gavin is attached to pairs heads up so it's almost standard for him

  • "What's that? A Saturday night fever check?" hahahaha

  • there were 2 aces on the table, his pairing the 5's doesnt help him any kolst

all he had was aces and 8's with jack kicker

so it was a very good call mate, his hand was weak with those 5 community cards

  • I didn't notice the aces. You're right. It's a helluva call.

  • alright kolst, you're a pro, you know exactly what you're talking about

  • Anyone who's any good bluffs a lot heads up. Calling with two pair in this situation is easy.
