Oh my gosh. My mother (she's 88) has an old tank top with EXACTLY the same pattern and colors as that lady's bikini top! Lol. I have a cup full of Blitz bottle caps that I snagged from my dad's Coke machine cap catcher 20-some years ago. He mostly drank Blitz, but also Rainier and Oly. Sometimes Hamm's. I think those are all that was available here back in the late 60's/70's... ? At least that's all I ever saw! Then when I was in high school, Schlitz Malt Liquor - The Bull - was the best!
I haven't seen this in a LONG time. Pretty much my whole family worked for Blitz Weinhard right up until it closed in Portland. I wish I could find the "So, where you going with all that beer?" commercials.
@BipedOfMystery the "where you boys goin' with all that beer?" commercial is the Schludwiller one - i just saw it on the "suggestions" side of this page ====>
notice how the beer BOTTLE doesnt have a long neck and is short and fat. and todays beer bottles are long necked and tall and narrow.i found one of those 70s bottles in an off leash park. there awsome
This was a "regional" beer that wasn't available all across the U.S.; that's why most people have never heard of it outside the West Coast and Rocky Mountain regions..this ad probably dates from 1969-'70.
Nah, sorry. I wrote that about a year ago, and actually, when I re-look closer at the video (especially near the end when you see them up close), I think this is actually probaly closer to 1967-ish rather than the tailend of the 60s.
I would say that commercial looks more like the mid to late 60's rather than the 70's. Real beer flavor,eh? Yeah I hate those artificially flavored beers.

"Beer with real beer flavor" as opposed to "Beer that tastes like the low end of a duck's tail"?
*LOL*

I think this was 68' or 69' to be exact.

Which year, 68 or 69, could you be more exact?

waffen2 4 years ago
i dont know what is better, blitz, blatz, schlitz or pabst, but i love hamms the most
waffen2 4 years ago
blitz, blatz, schlitz, pabst, meister brau are the best beers made. also schmidts and hamms
waffen2 4 years ago
There was a Schmidts beer can with a water skier on it. Kinda psychic, huh?

The bongos in the beginning, the water squirting upwards..and the beer--it all reminds me of a lonnnggg

Hey is that were the slang for getting really drunk comes from? we used to drink and say we got really Blitzed??
surfstyley 4 years ago
I don't even drink beer, but I would drink one called Blitz, especially if I was headed for fun.
After all, don't we all just hate that 'fake' beer flavor?

Looks like decadent swingers of the 60's. Gettin' loaded up on cheap beer, then gettin' down in a lake cottage threesome. It's just sick.
bigdaddy40 5 years ago
Either sick or typical. I want a lake cottage...

The beer for gym bunnies and the ugly women who hang out with them.

I was hoping the guy waterskiing was gonna douche the dock and those dorkie people drinking that bitter beer
fool4music 5 years ago
Drinking and waterskiing - it's a winning combination!
I wonder if the term "getting blitzed" has anything to do with this beer.
