They introduced a change to the original Magic Lever winding mechanism which eliminates the gear between the rotor and the ratchet lever, driving it directly off the rotor. The new design makes for a 30% improvement in winding efficiency and is also being used in all new Seiko automatics, including the new 7S26B.

@assa123assa123 I think the electromagnetic brake uses an electromagnetic field so unlike a brake pad, it will not wear out
