Stuff038, his music may be good, but Silvio Rodríguez is considered “the voice of the Cuban revolution.” For decades, he has used his artistic talent and appeal to serve and enable Cuba’s dictatorship and to spread its propaganda. A long-time member of Cuba’s Communist Party and ruling elite, he enjoys privileges denied to most Cubans. And he signed a letter supporting the execution in April 2003 of three young Afro-Cubans whose sole crime was to try to hijack a ferry to escape Cuba.

i respect your political views, but how is going to a silvio rodriguez and protesting his music going to change any political stance in cuba, if you wanted to do something meaningful go to the people who are being unjust in your eyes, protest in cuba, get arrested, show the world, this does nothing for your cause, silvio rodriguez is an artist, a great artist, in my opinion one of the best in the world, who happens to have the political views he has, disrespecting his art is just pointless
