no way dude, i've played both ps2 and pc, and i can say that the ps2 version is bad compared to pc on many aspects... unless if you play on very low settings.
If you want to get to Tong's place early all you have to do is deus ex set cheatsenabled true or whatever it is and enable cheat mode and then for the code to open doors it's opensesame and i've been to his lab and he isn't there you look all over and all you see is his body guards and alex jacobson isn't there either by doing that code you can pretty much skip every single objective and nothing will happen i beat the whole game without disabling the killswitch lol and i didnt die
I always managed to get in by wall climbing with LAMs.
So did you manage to get past the picture door and get to Tong early as well? The code is different from the normal code, so you may just have to try to brute force the code.

The Triads are incredibly easy to kill because most do not have ranged weapons. I enjoy picking them off with my throwing knives.
