  • Was this video taken like right after it happened or after driving it for a little while?

  • I mean main bearing not piston bearing

  • That's what you get for buying a Mustang.

  • @sweetlikeADAM Hey Adam, please give me back the 17 seconds I wasted watching your Accord go 0-60 one time.

That way, I can go out in my GT and hit 0-60 four times with the 17 seconds I get back.

  • @evenexchange 4 times in 17 seconds? so you can do 0-60 in about 4.25 seconds in your mustang GT? 2000 mustang GT's typically run about 6 seconds 0-60 so your way off, regardless comparing an accord to a mustang is pretty terrible... that's like comparing a taurus to a 350z

  • @distantarray2 depends on if its an sho taurus lol

  • @evenexchange hell yeah mustangs rule hondas are lame

  • my turbo volvo threw a rod threw the block. it broke through cast iron engine block and looked like someone spilled 10 milk shakes all over the pavement. quell domage

  • Most people on here are talking about just putting in new rod bearings without doing a run out inspection on the crank. Try doing a mag particle inspection on the crank also. It'll detect hairline cracks that are invisible to the naked eye. An engine knock always constitutes inspecting and/or machining the crank

  • can anyone tell me ah vid one here on howto replace ah rod bearing

  • @mmike422 1. Drain the oil 2. Take the bottom oil pan off 3. Remove the oil pump 4. Unbolt the 2 rod bolts 5. Push piston up 6. Remove worn bearings 7. Check for crank damage 8. Add new bearings, (They are in 2 pieces, like half circles) 9. reasemble 10. Add oil and flush the motor of the metal that could be in there.
  • OMG thats what kind of plugs I have in my Firebird it makes this noise I cant get it fixed right now but I go out and start it up now and then to keep the motor from completly seizing up

  • nice

  • My old Grand Marquis sounded like this when it died. =X

  • haha. good ole modular's...not

  • Not to worry, I got a brand new long block for her. $5,500 later she has been running strong for a year now.

  • What happen if you dont get your main bearing fix?

  • someone beat the hell outa it lol

  • does the sound gradually come on from a small tick or does it start loud like that

  • HAHAAHH....THATS AWESOME....Good going!

  • Keep on knocking but you can't come in!

  • Listen to her Purr!!! To bad for the Tickity Tick!

  • he new he was going to end up getting rid of the engine anyway

  • It's already been replaced.

  • yes you have spun a rod bearing , keep driving it and it will fuck the crank and all internal parts ! quit driving it and drop the oil pan and replace the bearings ?

  • The noise started happening at random times during the day about 2 weeks after I bought the car. It was probably all the time.. but I had a really REALLY loud exhaust in this video.. and therefore I only heard it when I came to a slow stop at like a stoplight. It never did it at idle though I don't think. One day I was driving and something broke internally and there was loud loud screeching and horrific sounds, and the car stalled out.

  • @evenexchange did it start out as a slight chirp under accelleration? or did it go full on knock, my truck has had a knock for a while (piston slap i thought since its common for the 5.3's) and now has a chirp under accell that has been getting worse over the last 5-10 miles (driving it minimally), pissin me off, thinkin its either in the tranny (torque converter) or engine, rod or piston bearing

  • @snowyphil65 Phil, it started out slapping loudly as the RPMs died down to around 1,000 (pulling up to a stop sign or stop light). While I would drive at 1,500RPMs and up, I could not hear the knocking or slapping at all. One day while driving, I shifted into third gear and once the RPMs stabilized, there was a horrific loud screech, and the car stalled out.

  • when you heard the noise did it gradually get louder or did you turn your car on one day and it made this noise??? i only ask because my car is making a noise...its not as loud as the one i heard in this video, and you can only hear it above 2,000 rpms....i need to know asap thanks

  • Yea you most likely spun a rod bearing Sanjoeddie17. My friend's '93 Talon TSi spun a rod bearing and it could only be hear from 1800-2200RPMs and if you was at 3 grand the car sounded normal, but drove like shit.

  • I ended getting a Reman motor from Ford with a 3 year warranty. Runs like a champ.
