in my opinion being gothic is about finding beauty in where other people find pain and lonelyness. gothic people are beautiful and have great personalities. people are too quick to judge. all alot of people think being gothic is about is wearing black and worshiping satan. i hate steriotipical people like that.

i love the goth look. i'm not gothic or anything, i just think that it's very different and abstract. it's just beautiful to me..idk..but nothing too over the top. usually something simple..i tend to look at what the women or girls wear whatever..i love the goth dresses and hairdos. i think it's very nice.
I love Gothic people. They are beautiful and they have wonderful, deep and intelligent personalities. I love the alternative and dark style myself, although I love crazy rainbow colours as well. I just love the way they express themselves through art, clothes and music. It is so unique and creative. :))

@byTemari you dont have to wear the clothes to gothic infact one of my friends s gothic but she wears bright colours but its still a part of the gothic style, and another friend of mine wears cybergothic attire if you can fit into a gothic style make one! how do you think fads are made? if you cant find a fad then make one up for yourself, and show bravado and soon you will see others wearing things similar too, take my school for example i wore cat ears and a cat tail and before you know it

Personally, I think it's great that Goths or some other none goths aren't afraid to show most people that it's alright to express themselves in anyway, and that's what makes the Goth culture so awesome, they express themselves openly and they are open minded and that's the best thing about Goths, they don't judge people, everybody is equal.

Goths are amazing people who have the courage to stand up and be different. I was goth and miss being it so much but being the only teenage goth in a town of chavs was extremely dangerous, everytime i walked to school or out the house i was stoned and even hit round the head with wine bottles. For the sake of my bf's life (he was starting to get shit too even not being goth) i turned "normal" and it was the beggiest mistake of my life. I will always be a goth at heart they can't break my spirit!

That is the good thing about this subculture. Everyone is free to express themselves. With clothing, paintings, music, whatever. If someone wants to wear a wig or paint their faces white, don't judge them. They're not being "posers" because of that. Being goth is about acceptance and attittude. Everyone is free to look like what they want to like like, in this subculture. If you know what I mean.

And i have always loved the alternative clothing styles.
Im dressing "gothic" myself, i dont care if people are hating on me because of my clothes. I love them!
Trench coats, boots, bondage pants and gloves + some pendants or skulls. I have always loved mteal, goth, rock music.
And i have always been facinated by death, fantasy, skulls, souls, vampires, verewolfes. i dont have many goth friends, but i just want to be myself!

Personally, I think it's great that Goths or some other none goths aren't afraid to show most people that it's alright to express themselves in anyway, and that's what makes the Goth culture so awesome, they express themselves openly and they are open minded and that's the best thing about Goths, they don't judge people, everybody is equal.

I was very goth as a teenager and in my early 20's but I was alone because it was the 80's and I was in a small town. It was very hard to be Goth and alone.

Goths are amazing people who have the courage to stand up and be different. I was goth and miss being it so much but being the only teenage goth in a town of chavs was extremely dangerous, everytime i walked to school or out the house i was stoned and even hit round the head with wine bottles. For the sake of my bf's life (he was starting to get shit too even not being goth) i turned "normal" and it was the beggiest mistake of my life. I will always be a goth at heart they can't break my spirit!

@MizzGen I wouldn't see it as a lifestyle. It's more about music and attitude. Some people may see it as a lifestyle but that is very subjective. Some people see the goth "lifestyle" in one way, some see it in another way. Know what I Mean? That's way I don't see it as a lifestyle, because which one of us is different from the other one.

That is the good thing about this subculture. Everyone is free to express themselves. With clothing, paintings, music, whatever. If someone wants to wear a wig or paint their faces white, don't judge them. They're not being "posers" because of that. Being goth is about acceptance and attittude. Everyone is free to look like what they want to like like, in this subculture. If you know what I mean.

In my experience, Goths are especially tolerant, calm, friendly and also very emotional people. From the goths i know, many or most live their emotions more extreme than ordinary mainstream people. In both directions, exhileration and also melancholy and sometimes selfdestructive streaks....

Goth comes from the word Gothic , Gothic is commanly used to explain england in like the 1800's . So when people say "dude...that looks so gothic" They are saying "dude, that looks like the old english things back in the 1800's" so you can tell by the way the people dress in the pictures that they are dressing like the 1800's english people. If you don't believe me you can look it up in the dictionary. I personally think it's AWESOME!!!!

in life it was the goths that came when all others abandoned me, I was a child and it was goths that came no one alse. and i had to leave not by choice but the older i get you get home sick. in order to protect everything i care about in this life i must come home again. with goths i will allways be home. the only way that i can do anything is to teach those around me of what goths have done for me when no one alse would,

There is a common misconception about goths. Most people think that we're all satanists and evil. This is not the case. Goth culture originally grew from the punk style to defy authority and the mainstream. Goth originated from Carpe Nocturm. A Latin word meaning "Seize the Night" Most goths are nice people. We just like to have fun and to be different from society.
