  • The sample used in the opening part of the song is from Zulu (AKA the longest fight scene in a movie ever), was watching it for the first time, and that jumped out at me.

  • One of the greatest albums of my life. I'll never forget the first time I heard this, back in 1992. Thank you Sarah Huska! Thank you for ever!

  • aah man, a dead can dance fan that accepted the ad culture of google/youtube

  • ACID TRIP!!!!

  • Amazing guitar work. This music comes from unknown ages.

  • suddently you find yourself lost into a forest, you hear tribal drums in the distance, you feel that someone is observing you....

  • This was on Miami Vice, on the episode in season 2 about the ritualistic killings, i think second epi of second season...anyhow, this is probably their best song in my opinion...they have so many great ones!

  • @Castielover

Ah, it does sound kinda Miami Vicey!

  • On aurait des cris de sorciers indiens qui invoquent les forces sombres des guerriers loups !

  • really good song, my favorite of dead can dance`s songs

  • guitarras de DIF JUZ,,por ahi tambien THE WOLFGANG PRESS yCINDYTALK en este album ...

  • The best track of this album. It's amazing

  • This is the worst produced DCD song. I've read somewhere that brendan was very unsatisfied by the sound of their first album, i think that particularly this track has a bad bad sound although it is awesome in terms of power and suggestion...but the sound is so bad..it seems like you're listening to a demo recording....

  • @easytears So TF what?

  • Recently bought the re-editions of the DCD albums, lovely thick vinyl, hard sleeves and the pure enjoyment of seeing these great black pancakes on the record player... I didn't know their debut one but I definetely love it! Thanks.

  • I swear this was on Miami Vice at some point.

  • Songs like this (mainly from their first album, though Black Sun and The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove also have their place) have made Dead Can Dance a longtime legend in the Goth subculture. I am happy to dance to their songs when they come up in the club or play them myself.

  • megastark

  • Lovely!!!

  • Wonderful. Saw them ~1990 at Manchester Uni. V. enchanting

  • This song is sampling the movie Zulu as far as I can tell. I just watched a YouTube video called Zulu War Chants, and from 1:51 to 1:57, those are the chants and intro "stampede" sound.

Funny enough I was looking for an Africa Bambaataa song and clicked the Zulu clip instead, and recognized this song instantly as it's my favorite from this album.

  • @songojin

DCD and Bambaataa? Excellent taste, my friend...

  • @songojin that's some cool info to know, thanks for the post!! isn't it funny how we can accidentally find samples from music we love that we didn't know were samples to begin with?!!? now i will always have that scene from the movie in my head when i hear this track. cheers :)

  • god is present...
