when i was young my first job was in a furniture factory in north carolina. one day i was working with a 60 year old man. The temperature in the factory was 100 degrees. The supervisior kept pushing us faster. we had to have 500 products done that day. i tired to do my job and help the older man . that afternoon he fell to the floor beside me, a heart attack. his wife called from the hospital to update us on his condition, the supervisor didnt care he fired him. china workers have it easy.
this is not harsh conditions you spoiled electronic age lazy brat. this is how things were done in the u.s. only a few decades ago. cough up a few billion of your own money and send it over there to help them. thought not.
@emartin1215 thats right.. people in this video look happy, sitting down working slow, smiles on their faces. looks like a walk in the park. Ive worked in american furntiure plants, pure hell holes, standing for 10 hours, working as fast as you could, manager calling you names, could not even take 1 minute to use the bathroom only a few minutes to eat lunch, people having heat strokes, if some of these people could have worked there 1 hour they would think the chinese workers have it easy.
This factory is nothing but poor working conditions! Most of the hand work was being done on surfaces that were far too low, which would cause back fatigue. The work areas seemed dull (Poor lighting) and very messy. The only impressive shown here was the skill of some of the workers, especially the guy with the scroll saw device cutting the shape out of the board.
@Edwood2009 after working in the furniture factory where i did, i would call the conditions of the factory in this video wonderful. They even get to sit down!! where i was it was stand 10 hours, furniture ran down a track super fast, you only had a few seconds to do your part on each one. no heat in winter, no fans or air in the summer, boss calling you every name in the book, no bathroom breaks, nasty bathrooms, only 20 minutes for lunch, no sick excuse, very very little pay.
This is why whenever i get a new phone or laptop or whatever, as soon as i see on it Not made in China, Im more excited about it. Seriously I've grown up in a world, practically made in china. Nice to see HTC make there phones in Taiwan, where they should be made, similar story for Samsung I guess.
The Chinese are so impressive in everything they do. But unfortunately they also drive the prices so low they have destroyed our furniture industry. What they sell is less than the cost of materials here in Canada. I still thank you for this nice video. I hope I will see in your next videos something with marquetry and inlays which is my favorite style of furniture.
@CapitanoGUC i once worked in a furniture factory that made the one in this video look nice. At the factory where i worked, there was no heat in the winter, you would roast in the summer, they wouldnt let you open a window.. unless it was break time they wouldnt let you go to use the bathroom. toilets had poop on them there was no cleaning person, you had to bring your own toilet paper, you couldnt drink from the water fountains, it was stand all day and dont look away from your work.
@ClassicRockfan79 i understand that! i worked in a furniture factory like that, no air, no heat, nasty, no bathroom breaks, only 25 minutes to wait in a long line to clock out for lunch, eat a few bites wait in line to take a piss, wait in line to clock back in from lunch all in 25 minutes. manager always yelling and bitching. and the people in this video are working very slow and some are sitting, where i was you had to stand, run, jump, fast while that furniture came flying down the line.
good skill

@rickyrosan Agreed, China's use of slave labor, reckless pollution of the environment, and poor working conditions are impressive.

@BoogieWithStew but there are no poor working conditions shown in this video ....:-/
