People like this shouldn't be sent to war. As soon as they learned he was a coward, he should have been dishcarged, but his dad wanted to prove a point and now men are dead.
@englishguy2010 him not wanting to kill or die at that battle front was actually logical, it was not like the Germans were on the offensive. The Germans were broken and were on the defensive, the US army only made pointless attacks which cost the lives of tens of thousands. They should have just stayed in their trenches and waited out for the Germans to run of resources.

Yea cause as we all know Germans are faceless enemies to be killed in the most heinous of ways. They aren't someones father,son or husband they don't feel the same emotions or bleed the same blood. Because the have funny names like Hans or Helmut their fuckin barbarians, better yet we should have speared their babies to stop the next war, Nits make Lice, as the US cavalry would say. Sarcasm never translates in type as well as one would like.
war is definitely a horrible thing. nobody likes 2 think about it. nobody likes 2 go in2 it. but anyone in the military who does what this guy did is not a real soldier as far as i'm concerned. a real soldier shows bravery, not acts like a total coward!

War is hell. It's even harder when people are dying around you before your very eyes and you feel you're next. The only thing you want to do is not be the one to catch the next shell or bullet. I sympathize with this man but if I die, I'll take the bastards with me. Funny thing is. I've never been in a war, and I never do. But if it happens, Would I be able to considered human If shirked I fighting for the right for my civilization to even exist?
