@opi1234569876 gustave is wondering where raoul is, and christine tells him that raoul isnt his father, and after she dies, gustave realizes that erik is his father
@opi1234569876 Love Never Dies is like an episode of Glenn Beck. When you don't think about it, it makes perfect sense. When you do, the plot holes get bigger and bigger and bigger.
Overall, I like the Australian version better. However, because they changed a lot of the stuff in the London production, I would like to see that version as well, so that I can see the differences in the final London production and the current Australian production.
I just "read" the book "Phantom of Manhattan," upon which LND is purportedly based. I think I would have liked for LND to be just a little more faithful to its source material. For the most part, however, all the important details seem to be there.
@jelliclekat24: The book isn't THAT bad. Sure, there are chapters I didn't care about. . . but otherwise the book is okay. Now that I think of it, though, I'm actually glad that LND doesn't parallel the book, and vice versa.
@crapcom4990 they didn't add the "NOOOO" from the phantom at the end in the london version until the revamp which took place about 7 months after this video was taken
I heard the album, so I have a fairly good sense of how things go on this show, and I look forward to seeing the movie, eventually. I learned that it will be playing at a Theater near me. :-) :-) Although it pains me to learn that Ramin and Sierra are not in the movie version, I trust that it will still be very good. What happened to Raoul in this whole show? Sounds like he turned into a problem drinker/gambler. I think it's because he always knew that he never fully had Christine's heart.
Great music, crappy ending! Phantom finally gets the love of his life and she dies in his arms! Lame, I choose to believe she didn't get shot and they lived happily ever after. :)

@spupooh Trust me, if you watch the Australian production, it won't seem as crappy. Yes, she still dies, but the characters have changed. No more angry Meg at the end. Now she's just kind of lost it (can't think of a better way to put it).

@Razor9350 probably because it would have done too much harm. If he would have killed meg, he would have done it right in front of his son. Also, madame giry would know who it was, and i don't think she would allow him to get away with it.
I just wanted to update my post below about purchasing the show on Amazon UK. ONLY THE BLU-RAY VERSION WILL PLAY IN THE USA. The DVD is PAL Region 2 and won't play in the majority of DVD players here. However, you can purchase any Blu-Ray or CD from the UK and they will play just fine. So, if you have a Blu-Ray player, head on over and pre-order your copy if you'd like and get it early. Again, it releases on Blu-Ray on Amazon UK for about the same price - maybe a few bucks more.
Kendra, you're absolutely right. Thanks for reminding me so I can post the correction on some of the other LND sites that I posted this info on. I have been ordering Blu-Ray this way for a long time. Totally forgot about the region code issue on DVD. So those lucky enough to have Blu-Ray players - you CAN order this on March 12th or pre-order it from Amazon UK.
Hey all you crazy Love Never Dies fans. Don't listen to the naysayers, the Australian Production is absolutely phenomenal. Nothing like the disastrous London production - not speaking of the cast though, the London cast were incredible. But those of you not wanting to wait until May to see the show on DVD.....go to Amazon in the UK online and order now for release on March 12th. They deliver to the USA - takes about 10-14 days. I order all of this stuff "early" from them. ENJOY!
@scootershmoo make sure you have a multi-region player if you do it this way. the u.s. and uk are different regions, so the dvd won't work on a regular u.s. player. blu-ray should be fine though
One more comment I'd like to make: Dang. I tear up at this. It's soooo sad. D"x But seeing the Phantom and Christine together at last is soooo beautiful. (And heart-breaking there since she dies.) Then when The Phantom reveals his face to Gustave, he isn't scared. (As to where he screams and runs off at the end of TBU.) And then Gustave hugs him. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
I finally found this! I have to say that i love Love Never Dies just as much as Phantom of the Opera (If only slightly less since it is kind of a squel ((Without really being it))) and the ending is just heartbreaking. And really, if it wasn't that bittersweet and heart cracking ending, would it even really be the story of Erik, and would we all like it just the same?? Big thumps up from my corner! (Does part 1 get uploaded somewhere soon? some of the best songs are in the start (BaMS) |D)
@namelessmoffe Hate to tell you this, but the bootleg that this came from is missing everything that takes place during "giry confronts the phantom" to part of "mother please i'm scared". If you want to see BAMS, you will have to wait for the dvd of the australian cast. sorry :(
Oh well, i was going to buy it anyway |D But still, thank you for every video beyond that. I guess i'll get an even bigger thrill when i see the DVD then! (Even when it's not wil Ramin). But still! ^^
@kendrarussell I have no doubt they will be brilliant, but i have grown fond of the way Ramin play the Phantom and how Sierra Bogges plays Christine, but the Australian cast are a bunch of fantastic actors as well, so i don't think it will be a disappointment ^Å^
does anyone else think its pathetic that even though raoul thought he was gustaves father erik shows him more father love in two days then roaul did in ten years
@sarapaintgirl: Raoul apparently didn't know how to be a father. Sure, he had a son to carry on his name, but he didn't know how to take care of him--especially after he became a problem drinker and gambler. When they arrive in NY, Raoul tells the paparazzi not to take pictures of "the boy" and to "leave the child alone". Why not say, "Don't take pictures of My Son" and "Leave My Son alone"?
The ending I'd have preferred more is a faithful adaptation of the book where Christine goes back to the Phantom's Lair in the Paris opera house after he had passed away and returned the ring he gave her. Why the change of location? I just don't get it.
I absolutly love this!! But the ending is so sad. The phantom has worked so hard only to have his true love taken away again. But i love that he got a son to love, since he could not have Christne
Love this! However, with the new changes it ends with the Phantom singing the "Love Never Dies" quietly and then as the music rises him and Gustave do their thing. It's a lot better and sadder :( this is still great!
@WickedPotterHead They slept together the night before she was to be married to Raoul. They sing it in a song, she was going to run away with the Phantom but the next morning when she woke up he was gone. He was ashamed of what he had done and thought he wasn't good enough for her.
I don't like it when Meg says 'christine christine' because that's her tune for saying christine in Phantom, and she's such a different character it kills me when they try to make it out it's still the Meg who was once humble and best friends with Christine :( xx
:( im really mad about the ending...and is phantom the real father? cuz chrstine said something to gustave about that but i couldnt tell what she said
that ending is so sad... but i think they could have shortened it.... the music is well done...and i go both ways. there are days where i hate it days where i love it.... but.... in general the story line i think could be a bit better but the acting is well done... i still cry ... poor erik. but bravo.... thanks fo sharing this :)
i honestly cannot wait till they make this into a movie ! <3 even though it's been 8yrs since the last movie it'll b great to see especially with Gerard and Emmy and the play in movie form! :D if they have the same girl for Meg that they did then it'll b interesting to see her like that since she looked so innocent..
@cubanita1101 even though love never dies will have a dvd release, its not going to be like the 2004 movie at all. Its going to be an actual stage recording of the australian production and cast
@kendrarussell Actually it is, i read and saw a video where Webber was going to Have Gerard and Emmy once again and the movie will possibly be released late fall 2O12 ! :D
@cubanita1101 I suggest you look at the date and video of where you got that info. If it was going to be released in fall (or even have plans for it), it would already be on imdb. Besides, alw would not release a movie and the video of the stage production at the same time (the australian production has already been filmed and is set for release)
@kendrarussell Fyi not everything on imdb is true. and of course it's being filmed and on and has a released date for DVD, but POTO was released in theaters, is the Australian production going to be released in theaters? Plus you cannot make one movie and not have the other as well it's like having an incomplete set just the reason why Alw made this production .
@cubanita1101 yes actually, the australian production is going to be released in theaters. On imdb, there are 2 movies called "love never dies", but they don't have anything to do with phantom. look around and try to found a recent article about gerard butler in love never dies, basically everything is either fan hopes or just mentions him being at the premier
@kendrarussell Theaters as in movie theaters? And i have found a few articles mentioning that it'll be Him and Emmy in the movie or 2 other actors. And as i said before imdb isn't always accurate -,- believe me i had hopes on that w. other movies and it didn't turn out as anyone planed. :P
@cubanita1101 yep. theaters as in cinema. look up the trailer if you don't believe me. just type in "love never dies dvd trailer". and make sure its a recent one. there are some people who used footage from the 2004 movie to make their own fan trailer
The leads in it are ben lewis and anna o byrne. also, if you do not mind, i would like the links to the articles that mention butler and rossum being in the film. as much as i wish it was true, more than likely it is nothing
@kendrarussell i have seen a few trailers and all, and it is a great production, but i do too hope for a movie like the 2OO4 movie, it was quite brilliant i'll see if i can find the articles, although i have found a couple where they say it will most likely be how the 1st phantom was and take awhile to gain popularity etc. and that it will take quite some years till a movie like in 2OO4 is released.
@cubanita1101 considering the reception the 2004 movie got (especially the cast). it will be a long while before they would consider making a film like the 2004 movie. the reception over love never dies, which has only been out for nearly 2 years, has not gained the success that would be required to make a full out film. i do kinda wish for a actual movie, but I am more than happy with the australian production for now :)
@kendrarussell i agree, but i think eventually they will make a movie :D &'d i very much like both story's but i like this one a bit more..except for the part where she dies, bittersweet ending, but still good..kinda like a Romeo And Juliet thing going on there now that i noticed...but can you PLEASE explain to me, WHERE did Erik and Christine EVER sleep together..? O.o" that has me so confused..
@cubanita1101 listen to the song "beneath a moonless sky". in the london version, they slept together the night before christine married raoul. in the australian version, no certain night is specified, just that they slept together
@cubanita1101 the london version wasn't received very well by critics and some audiences, even though they made several changes before it closed in london. the australian creative team decided to try their hand at it, and it has been better received (not to mention its alw's preference) so that is why this version is going on dvd. depending on the country, release dates for the dvd can very from february to june so far
@kendrarussell i though the London version was quite amazing, but will that song be on the DVD? And this song explains SO MUCH now xD i wish i could have seen the London Production . -.- That would have been amazing..
@kendrarussell aww :) ... the only thing that bothers me about this is she dies at then end and in the 2004 movie her tombstone says she lived for 50-60 years and in the move she deffinatly wasnt old enough to be that age 10 years in the present ( and yea i kno the actor who played her was only sixteen but it still doesnt make sense)
@bonnaXbeast he probably won't, at least for a long time. the australian production of love never dies was filmed to be sold, and alw seems very pleased with it.
Is this Ramin and Sierra? Its so beautiful, and so sad. When Meg comes back, I was absolutely in tears. And then his son hugs him and it was wonderful
i remember seeing this back in April '10, i was crying so much that I was actually sobbing out loud and my mum kept elbowing me to be quiet lol because we were on the front row! I couldn't help it though, it was so so so so sad! I just wish ALW had given them a happy ending :(
I saw this show 3 times on stage and I don't think I saw the same version of the ending more than once! This is slightly different to how I saw it first time...
In the revised ending, doesnt Raoul come back and hugs Gustave and give him premission to go to the Phantom, and then Raoul goes to Christine's body..
@TheTitanic4 yes he brings back gustave after he runs off when he finds out the Phantom is his father then raoul gives him to the Phantom and then goes to Christine's body
I hate this ending. In the end, he never got Christine. She walked away from him, married Raoul, and came back 10 years later only to die. I wish she would have lived so the Phantom, Christine and Gustave could have a happy life together as a family. I want that so badly. Like if you agree.
@vormby777 Me too.. But you know if they really wanted someone to die.. I wanted the Phantom.. (DON'T KILL ME) .. It's just that I would've given everything to hear what his last words to Christine and Gustave might have been.. And Christine already gave so much woe and heartache to the phantom for years... It's time for her to feel the pain now... That's my opinion... Don't hate me people...
@vormby777 Christine came back the night after she left the Phantom and chose him. They slept together and when she woke the next day he'd gone, he was too scared of staying incase Christine left again. That's how Gustave was conceived and why she's so pissed with the Phantom when she sees him again. HE ditched HER
I listened to the complete soundtrack and I never pictured the end. I practically cried my eyes out. Gustave accepts the phantom as his real father and the phantom isn't left alone.
@Edward0Robert I agree. It's so nice to me, that the Phantom doesn't have to go back to being alone and broken. He has someone who will finally love him as he deserves to be loved. I cried and cried over this, cause it's such a great ending, even tho Christine dies.
@mbieberfever23 Certainly, Meg came to NY with Erik and her mother and opened Cony Island with the idea that she would be the diva in this new land, and gives up a lot of herself in the form of going with rich men in order to supply them with the funds they would need. Somewhere along the way she loses her sanity and when she finds out Erik did all of this with the intention of luring Christine back it drives her off of the deep end, she kidnaps their son and tries to drown him in the sea.
Meg is a crazy bitch! O__O
And I feel horrible for Erik. . . He finally got Christine, and then he lost her. . . T__T

So, if you have a Blu-Ray player, head on over and pre-order your copy if you'd like and get it early. Again, it releases on Blu-Ray on Amazon UK for about the same price - maybe a few bucks more.
scootershmoo 4 weeks ago

ENJOY!
scootershmoo 4 weeks ago
@scootershmoo make sure you have a multi-region player if you do it this way. the u.s. and uk are different regions, so the dvd won't work on a regular u.s. player. blu-ray should be fine though
kendrarussell 4 weeks ago
@scootershmoo: Thanks for the heads-up! I trust that the Australian cast is excellent. I look forward to what sounds like a promising show.

@burgermainia15 His character was already assassinated, no need to physically shoot him onstage. The poor man suffered enough.

@CrazyGood88 It is a great looking way to die. Nothing real about this scene. I still think I would be more worried about my child than the Phantom.

@lisaannejane2 True. I would be searching for my baby. he had just gotten kidnapped and they both let him run off. negligence on their part.

(Does part 1 get uploaded somewhere soon? some of the best songs are in the start (BaMS) |D)
namelessmoffe 1 month ago
@namelessmoffe Hate to tell you this, but the bootleg that this came from is missing everything that takes place during "giry confronts the phantom" to part of "mother please i'm scared". If you want to see BAMS, you will have to wait for the dvd of the australian cast. sorry :(

@kendrarussell *GASP!* ,O_O' *FAINT*
Oh well, i was going to buy it anyway |D But still, thank you for every video beyond that. I guess i'll get an even bigger thrill when i see the DVD then! (Even when it's not wil Ramin). But still! ^^
namelessmoffe 1 month ago
@namelessmoffe i doubt the australian cast will disappoint you :)
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@kendrarussell I have no doubt they will be brilliant, but i have grown fond of the way Ramin play the Phantom and how Sierra Bogges plays Christine, but the Australian cast are a bunch of fantastic actors as well, so i don't think it will be a disappointment ^Å^

@sarapaintgirl I find that ironic don`t you
TomMatt2015 2 weeks ago
@sarapaintgirl: Raoul apparently didn't know how to be a father. Sure, he had a son to carry on his name, but he didn't know how to take care of him--especially after he became a problem drinker and gambler. When they arrive in NY, Raoul tells the paparazzi not to take pictures of "the boy" and to "leave the child alone". Why not say, "Don't take pictures of My Son" and "Leave My Son alone"?
montiralei 2 weeks ago
@montiralei yeah and i've never actually seen it but i've heard all the music and gustave even asks if he loves him or not
what a jerk
sarapaintgirl 1 week ago
The ending I'd have preferred more is a faithful adaptation of the book where Christine goes back to the Phantom's Lair in the Paris opera house after he had passed away and returned the ring he gave her. Why the change of location? I just don't get it.

I absolutly love this!! But the ending is so sad. The phantom has worked so hard only to have his true love taken away again. But i love that he got a son to love, since he could not have Christne

@ChelseaDestler its ironic, since christine was his true love and she dies, yet the show is titled love never dies

Love this! However, with the new changes it ends with the Phantom singing the "Love Never Dies" quietly and then as the music rises him and Gustave do their thing. It's a lot better and sadder :( this is still great!

I'm extremely confused as to when Christine and Erik slept together, but that ending with him and Gustave is really sweet!
WickedPotterHead 1 month ago
@WickedPotterHead They slept together the night before she was to be married to Raoul. They sing it in a song, she was going to run away with the Phantom but the next morning when she woke up he was gone. He was ashamed of what he had done and thought he wasn't good enough for her.
McKenaMars 1 month ago
I don't like it when Meg says 'christine christine' because that's her tune for saying christine in Phantom, and she's such a different character it kills me when they try to make it out it's still the Meg who was once humble and best friends with Christine :( xx

i honestly cannot wait till they make this into a movie ! <3 even though it's been 8yrs since the last movie it'll b great to see especially with Gerard and Emmy and the play in movie form! :D if they have the same girl for Meg that they did then it'll b interesting to see her like that since she looked so innocent..
cubanita1101 1 month ago
@cubanita1101 even though love never dies will have a dvd release, its not going to be like the 2004 movie at all. Its going to be an actual stage recording of the australian production and cast
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@kendrarussell Actually it is, i read and saw a video where Webber was going to Have Gerard and Emmy once again and the movie will possibly be released late fall 2O12 ! :D
cubanita1101 1 month ago
@cubanita1101 I suggest you look at the date and video of where you got that info. If it was going to be released in fall (or even have plans for it), it would already be on imdb. Besides, alw would not release a movie and the video of the stage production at the same time (the australian production has already been filmed and is set for release)
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@kendrarussell also, butler already stated that he probably wouldn't do it even if asked
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@kendrarussell Fyi not everything on imdb is true. and of course it's being filmed and on and has a released date for DVD, but POTO was released in theaters, is the Australian production going to be released in theaters? Plus you cannot make one movie and not have the other as well it's like having an incomplete set just the reason why Alw made this production .
cubanita1101 1 month ago
@cubanita1101 yes actually, the australian production is going to be released in theaters. On imdb, there are 2 movies called "love never dies", but they don't have anything to do with phantom. look around and try to found a recent article about gerard butler in love never dies, basically everything is either fan hopes or just mentions him being at the premier
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@kendrarussell Theaters as in movie theaters? And i have found a few articles mentioning that it'll be Him and Emmy in the movie or 2 other actors. And as i said before imdb isn't always accurate -,- believe me i had hopes on that w. other movies and it didn't turn out as anyone planed. :P
cubanita1101 1 month ago
@cubanita1101 yep. theaters as in cinema. look up the trailer if you don't believe me. just type in "love never dies dvd trailer". and make sure its a recent one. there are some people who used footage from the 2004 movie to make their own fan trailer
The leads in it are ben lewis and anna o byrne. also, if you do not mind, i would like the links to the articles that mention butler and rossum being in the film. as much as i wish it was true, more than likely it is nothing
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@kendrarussell i have seen a few trailers and all, and it is a great production, but i do too hope for a movie like the 2OO4 movie, it was quite brilliant i'll see if i can find the articles, although i have found a couple where they say it will most likely be how the 1st phantom was and take awhile to gain popularity etc. and that it will take quite some years till a movie like in 2OO4 is released.
cubanita1101 1 month ago
@cubanita1101 i'll send you a link to the official trailer in you inbox
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@cubanita1101 considering the reception the 2004 movie got (especially the cast). it will be a long while before they would consider making a film like the 2004 movie. the reception over love never dies, which has only been out for nearly 2 years, has not gained the success that would be required to make a full out film. i do kinda wish for a actual movie, but I am more than happy with the australian production for now :)
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@kendrarussell i agree, but i think eventually they will make a movie :D &'d i very much like both story's but i like this one a bit more..except for the part where she dies, bittersweet ending, but still good..kinda like a Romeo And Juliet thing going on there now that i noticed...but can you PLEASE explain to me, WHERE did Erik and Christine EVER sleep together..? O.o" that has me so confused..
cubanita1101 1 month ago
@cubanita1101 listen to the song "beneath a moonless sky". in the london version, they slept together the night before christine married raoul. in the australian version, no certain night is specified, just that they slept together
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@kendrarussell :O Thank You! i was so confused, lol and they should have it in both versions, why are they different anyways? o.o
cubanita1101 1 month ago
@cubanita1101 the london version wasn't received very well by critics and some audiences, even though they made several changes before it closed in london. the australian creative team decided to try their hand at it, and it has been better received (not to mention its alw's preference) so that is why this version is going on dvd. depending on the country, release dates for the dvd can very from february to june so far
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@kendrarussell i though the London version was quite amazing, but will that song be on the DVD? And this song explains SO MUCH now xD i wish i could have seen the London Production . -.- That would have been amazing..
cubanita1101 1 month ago
@cubanita1101 yes, beneath a moonless sky will be on the dvd. in fact, its music is playing during the trailer

bonnaXbeast 1 month ago
@bonnaXbeast that's how its explained in the musical. and yes, the phantom is gustave's father
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@kendrarussell aww :) ... the only thing that bothers me about this is she dies at then end and in the 2004 movie her tombstone says she lived for 50-60 years and in the move she deffinatly wasnt old enough to be that age 10 years in the present ( and yea i kno the actor who played her was only sixteen but it still doesnt make sense)
bonnaXbeast 1 month ago
@bonnaXbeast there isn't a date of death in the stage show though, just the movie
kendrarussell 1 month ago
@kendrarussell ooo, well i wonder if andrew how or if he's going to make another movie with gerard butler and emmy rossum
bonnaXbeast 1 month ago
@bonnaXbeast he probably won't, at least for a long time. the australian production of love never dies was filmed to be sold, and alw seems very pleased with it.

I hate this ending. In the end, he never got Christine. She walked away from him, married Raoul, and came back 10 years later only to die. I wish she would have lived so the Phantom, Christine and Gustave could have a happy life together as a family. I want that so badly. Like if you agree.
vormby777 1 month ago 44
