Mr.Cain; During the Salem Witchcraft trials "enhanced interrogation techniques" were used on people accused of witchcraft. The end result was people "confessing" to talking to a little red horned man who convinced them to fly around on a broomstick. At the time this was considered valuable information. Now we know why those people "confessed" to being witches, they wanted the torture to stop! You are simply waterboarding towards a confession of witchcraft all over again, you disgrace the USA!

What a psychopath. Anyone who believes in torture doesn't believe in God. God would never make the "right thing" torturing another person .. Governments are made of humans and can make mistakes and may end up torturing people who don't deserve to suffer. Even if torturing a bunch of people can offer some safety, what use is it when God puts us in hell for doing it? Nowhere in the Bible is torture used. Threat of death, yes .. but never torture.

@dubtafoo It has nothing to do with god, or religion or theistic belief at all. It's about basic respect for human rights. If its ok to do it to terrorists today, its ok to do it to citizen protestors. It's ok to do it to war prisoners that may or may not have any actual knowledge of what they're being asked. When we use torture how are we any better? Torture isn't patriotic, it isn't even human. Mr. Cain, have you ever heard of, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"?

Protecting the nation isn't about being better, nor is it about what torture method is more patriotic or humane than another. Terrorists cannot be reasoned with by showing them respect, restraint, & fairness. Only a mindless thug with twisted ideology (and not much to lose) straps on a bomb in the name of Allah. And, only a fool thinks they can reason with the enemy who sits on the same side of desperation. If torture must be used by means of keeping the innocent safe, so be it.
