I think they are going the wrong direction with it, They may be ble to secure investors easier if it were extended to run along the outside of NY NY Monte Carlo through City Centre Bellagio etc...along side I-75 THEN to Downtown as phase 2 originally planned. This would open up more locations attracting more riders etc...

I love the LV Monorail and wish more people would use it.IMO it'll never expand to McCarran airport as it'll cost too much $ and every taxi driver in the city would be up in arms because they wouldn't be able to rip the tourists off anymore.

@donzaliko We don't but Bombardier in Kingston Canada just won contracts for King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh Saudi Arabia and a big one for Sao Paulo Brazil 378 vehicles

Monorail was Ok..escalators to it from the Sahara broken a lot and then one train of the Monorail was broke one nite...Ok to ride, found the Deuce bus (double decker) the way to go if you want to go to Fremont St.....very nice to ride.....

When it goes to the airport then they will be able to pay off the muncipal bonds etc, the longer the delay the more the system has a chance to fail in this econ. etc. I think they marketed it oddly. Vip paint scheme,Jazz music and a refreshment car would add income and user app. Also a real staff to assist seniors arriving from the port...Anyways..

Too much trouble and expensive to use it since it's too short and doesn't go anywhere. Everytime I go to Vegas I just walk to the casinos.

monorails are fukkin cool they are nice and quiet.......it would be nice if ny got rid of our old noisy fukkin el trains and put up monorails........maby they can put one in like staten island or somthing

Wow! I just found out about this last night on the "Travel Channel"...You mean to tell me this has been there since the year 2000, and I never even knew it!

I remember riding the Monorail in Las Vegas but in the year 2000, the Monorail only traveld from MGM Grand to Belley with the Mark 4 monorail owned by belley but now the city bought the system and extended the tracks through out the cities of Las Vegas.

It's embassing because Seattle had our Monorail for over 40 years and it still only goes to Westlake mall to the Space needle. lame as hell. Seattles too big for that. I hope lame Seattle catches up.

it used to be owned by the Belly hotel it only travel from MGM Grand To Belly hotel but now the city of Vegas bought the system and spent 10 Billion of dollors to extend the tracks and system through out the cities.
