Stacking your king up against Communist China's Mao doesn't really prove my point is invalid. (BTW, I don't like Communism or any form of non-democracy). He gave a few change from all the money he & his family has garnished from the country & the Thai people (gving back way less than taking in). Why the hell is the Thai king so sacred that there are laws against any negative criticism of him or the royal family??? he is just a human being like any of us. What has he done to be bestowed at such position at birth. Kings and the royal families are jokes.

@StudentofSunTzu He's praised often because unlike China...the Thai King has suggested sustainable growth in harmony with nauture and community. Perhaps if you really wanted to know the answer why he is so much respected you would investigate and go to Thailand...to see the numerous project for the rural poor. I guess Thailand didn't need a communist Mao Ze Tung but a king who cares for his people!

Like many Thais, my family has had the picture of the King in our houses.

Several years ago, I came to the US and lived on my own the first time. I felt very lonely the first time in my life. Without thinking, I put the picture of the king on the wall in my apartment. T_T I felt more encouraged. It was the natural thing for me and many Thai to have the picture of the king in our houses. The King is my inspiration. Long live the King.
