  • I agree,it was the best they could do with the budget they had;and it was the 70s man!

  • To all those making fun of this show... 1: The producers weren't allowed to have the budget they wanted to have to have spidey behave closer to the comic 2: There were tight restrictions on what they could do action wise 3: Do you people not yet understand that the world existed BEFORE computers? They did the best they could! I grew up on this show, and it made me become a spider-fan. If they had access to today's tech, of course they'd have improved the show. That it got on at all was great.

  • fuck i am gonna fall down now:))) poor spider

  • this is from the good times, when you hardly found niggers or gays in america

  • @Churruminonian You do realize that one of the stars of this show is Chip Fields, right? :|

  • LOL

  • My god... this show was awful. Just awful.

  • if we get a Grand theft auto game in the 1970s, i want this to be the theme song.

  • WHOA! AWESOME! HOW DID THEY DO THAT? AMAZING!

  • This looks so joke I want to watch an episode lol

  • MY EYES i wish you can unsee things

  • Actually, considering it was 1978 way before cgi I think they did a good job with the porny music opening.

  • Pkay, first of all Nicholas Hammond is some nice eye candy (he was Marcia Brady's BMOC he was also one of the Von Trapp boys "Fritz" or "Kurt")

  • @callmemrgrimm. He wears bell bottoms. I have the complete series and boy does he wear bell bottoms. He also drives a blue Chevy Nova for some reason.

  • 0:02 I crapped myself, I am not even joking, I jumped, fucking scarier than Venom

  • this guy is way too tall and too good looking to be peter parker...and furthermore these just totally ignored the spider-man storyline

  • his mask looks weird. maybe cuz im used to the new version. but why does he have a belt and bracelet

  • @icebreakersix1nine The bracelet is his webshooter and the belt is where he stores his spare web cartridges as well as his spider-tracers and other gadgets.

In the comics they've always been depicted as thin enough to wear under his costume but I guess this series wanted to show them off..and strangely only gave him one web shooter.

The movie changed it so that his webs where part of his powers. The upcoming movie is going back to him using mechanical web shooters under his gloves.

  • @Clickyable ooooh k i wasnt born in this generation lol so thats why i know nothing of the old spider man

  • It's sounds like a 70's porn movie :D

  • @Mjolnir1000 ohh... yessss......yesssss..yeahhhh...ohhhh....ohhhhhhh......

  • @Ibringthetruth1 Wow, chill dude. It's just an opinion.

  • @2262523 Amen!

  • GAY.

  • @Ser1ousGenius

go watch the syfy channel homo.

  • @Ibringthetruth1 This is Nicholas Hammond, isn't it?

  • Love the super-smooth saxophone. It's like Spider-Man meets Shaft. XD

  • 70's action series for the win. This, and 6 Million Dollar man were tops!

  • i had no fucking idea

  • wtf? Spider-man 2002 FTW.. screw this.

  • @deepen2011 I hate those movies, its just Toby McGuire crying for two hours and a half-assed fighting scene

  • @deepen2011 but the first SM sucked the second one is the only good one

  • Love this music!

  • @enyawd1977 and @Hazza101 i found your fight even more interesting than the video LOL

  • music is awesome

  • is this a porn movie??

  • Epic Fail

  • I rather read a comic book than watch this

  • I love to watch this show. its a shame that laods of people hate it

  • Who knew that Spider-Man was really Tucker Carlson??!!

  • That jazzy theme music is a lot catchier and more memorable than the tuneless stuff from the movies.

  • WOW classic man classic this and the REAL superman

  • I used to watch the re-runs of these in the early 90's...I was only 7 :D

  • @TheNerdWiz98 Everyone is forgetting that special effects in the 70s were nowhere near as advanced as they are today. Who cares about the graphics? The main key for a good show is for it to have good acting, good storyline, good character development and good music and that's all that matters. All people care about now is graphic designs. I can tell these people are not from the 70s.

  • Fun fact for you everyone. Nicholas Hammond played Fredrich in The Sound of Music :D

  • Godddamn, look at Spider-Man getting funky!

  • Dear God. I remember this. I wish I didn't.

  • He isn't a very fast climber.

  • Spiderman - "This is how I fuck the sky!" lol

  • this is so gay

  • i use to watch this series with my brothers and mum. They re-ran it during the late eighties in the UK. I love this spidey show so much!

  • This was amazing :) gotta love the batman gun sounding web lol

ohhhh nooo Radiated spider!!! glows like a jacklantern :)

Yo that SPIDEY IS DYNAMITEEEEEE funky TOWN!

  • It's not all that great. I'm 26 and I used to watch this on marathons on the Sci Fi channel during Thanksgiving. I like it for nostalgia but it doesn't compare to the newer Spider-Man trilogy and why should it? This is over 30 years old. I'll admit that I still enjoy the campiness. I would agree that the comics from back in the day are rad and I like them just as much as the current stuff.

  • omg this looks like crap...

  • Well. Better Effects! For sure! Better storytelling! you can argue about that! But this one is done by heart and isn´t calculate to success from production to marketing.

  • Love that funky beat! Was this spiderman really scared of heights?

  • @scahd There's a difference between quality and opinion. I like Ninja turtles and Friday the 13th alot but I know theyre not cinematic masterpieces..

  • hate the mask. hhis eyes look really wierd.

  • Epic! I loved this show so much when I was a kid! This theme is still my favourite!

  • "I pity the fool" lol XD To bad Mr. T didn't make an appearance.

  • @HotRodFan899 SHUT IT whipper snapper!!!

  • 26 people shouldnt live!!!!

  • Lol, such a porn music XD

  • fuck that spidey man!

  • @HotRodFan899 LOL HELL YEAH!

  • @HotRodFan899 Better special effects, yes. Better story-telling, no, because today's filmmakers spend too much time focusing on the god-damn special effects!

  • You gotta be f**king kidding me...

  • wow I didn't know that there was a spider-man movie before 2000's

  • @Hot rod I resent that but true!

  • dem its bad

  • where can i get the soundtrack of this series? or movie?

  • this is Funky as hell ........BaddAss!!!

  • @HotRodFan899

    ...........unnecessary hate much?

  • cheap

  • @HotRodFan899 Well, those times had something better than now, as cas, those times, cars used to be CARS, not electric-hybrid crap.

  • This was a terrible show with horrible acting, poorly choreographed fights and stunts, and the worst Spiderman/Parker actor ever.

Now, that said, it was nicely done considering the technology and culture of its decade, and the fact that they made use of mechanical web shooters (albeit just one) makes it better than the last film they came up with. (The first two were alright, but that third movie was just melodramatic, poorly written, overly-CGI'd crap.)

  • just gonna say, not everyone from my generation is an idiot.

This show looks like it was a blast!

Gotta see if it's on dvd or something

  • wow that sucks

  • memories...

  • Well, we've come a long way.

  • @HotRodFan899

Oh look, another CGI spoiled punk belittling a show made 34 years ago that was excellent for it's time. Problem is junior, I was a Spidey fan when you were still just a bad idea, and to my generation, this WAS Spider-man. You may have effects laden movies today, but we had the BEST COMICS EVER at only 25 cents, Mego figures, and superheroes were everywhere. Give me this show and The Incredible Hulk ANY DAY over your teen-angsty Smallville CRAP and your shitty $4 comics.

  • @enyawd1977 Damn straight. Todays stuff is good but compared to the old stuff? Hell, I'm 20 and it's just not the same like the old stuff. I may have grown up in the 90]s but my dad hooked me on all the good stuff from back then. Another example is music. Boston, ZZ Top, Styx and Foreigner SHIT all over today's groups.

  • @KeroGaidanEmpireTV

Thanks man! It's great to see someone from your generation giving the classics a chance. They will always be classics, no matter what.

  • @enyawd1977 Hey I'm 14 and The live action Incredible hulk is one of my favorite TV shows of all time

  • @superantman11

Awesome! It really is a great show, and so much better than the new movies. What's your favorite episode?

  • @enyawd1977 I haven't seen them all but maybe the one with Thor

  • @enyawd1977 well said

  • @enyawd1977 i want comics for 25 cents

  • Comment removed

  • @enyawd1977 Keep hanging on to nostalgia before you cark it old man. You do know around a dollar back then equals around $4 today you dumb old cunt?

  • @Hazza101

A dollar then is four today?

Then a quarter would be a dollar today, not four. I'm glad us dumb old cunts know how to do math cause you sure as hell don't. Take your wee-wee out of your hand long enough to look at a math book. You might learn something junior. Thanks for playing!

  • Comment removed

  • @enyawd1977 Do you even know what I'm saying? Four dollars is nothing in this day and age. I mean it's probably a lot to your pension money but for us who hold down a real job $4 is jack shit for a comic. Look at the average salary to buying power ratios "in your day", they were worse.

Gotta love how old people use junior as an insult. Rather be a junior than some old prick living on old spider-man nostalgia about to cark it.

  • @Hazza101

I'm only in my 30's junior, so I'm not quite about to "cark it" as you say. Four dollars is a lot to some people, like your mom for instance. She only gets $4 per BJ cause she's just not very good at it. Tell her to keep practicing on you though, and she may be able to work all the way up to minimum wage. Thanks again!

  • @enyawd1977 sure you're in your 30's, maybe 30 years ago. You sound and talk like an old cunt. Who in their 30's uses "junior" as an insult and who else in their thirties would bring up sucking grandma titties? Oh that's right, only an old cunt like you. Try again ya has been.

  • @enyawd1977 Oh and as much as I value the comic book writers of your time like Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, you calling the comics of our time crap is just ludicrous. All the writers of your time did was recycle and milk the shit out old villains with cliche fights and endings while we have story arcs like the Onslaught Saga and the Civil War. There is no way the writers of your time came out with that creativity. The comics of our time don't come with stupid villains like "The Kangaroo".

  • @Hazza101

By "milking the shit out of old villains", I assume you're referring to your dad sucking on your grandma's titties. Well, that was just last week, not thirty years ago.

  • @enyawd1977 I think you're the only angsty one here. SmallVille had a really good plot, and story for most of the seasons and even toward the end. You know, those comics, the shitty $4 you're talking about, far better than that old, cliche bullshit you had back in your "day". Maybe 20 years ago they were good, but "Invincible", "The Walking Dead", and even reboots are better now than they were. Oh, and we have the internet, who needs to "Buy" comics anymore?

  • @Booba607 Just saying, you sound like a huge hipster douchebag right now.

  • @Booba607

Who needs to buy comics? I do. Are you gonna share internet comics with your kids in 20 years? That's my point. Your generation thinks only of the here and now, and everything else is secondary. As for the stories we had back in my day, I would hardly call the death of Gwen Stacy, or the return of Captain America to the WWII theatre "cliche bullshit". Try READING a classic comic for a change. I recommend Amazing Spider-Man 136 and Captain America 253-254.

  • @Booba607 "Smallville had a really good plot"? Did we watch the same show? I'm not saying this Spiderman show would be better (I've only seen this one vid), but judging from everything I've seen from Smallville, that show was pure and utter garbage. Tom Welling's acting was wooden from day one to the last. Kristen, though beautiful, sucked. Chloe was good, so was Luther. Lois sucked. Green Arrow was OK. But the show itself had horrible, uninteresting storylines. Made Buffy look Emmy worthy.

  • @enyawd1977 Dude, this show is so bad it is funny. It makes the 60s cartoon look good by comparison, which is probably why the cartoon actually lasted into the 80s in syndication while this steaming pile of turd disappeared into obscurity.

  • @tml4873 ..you would make fun of something over 30 years ago..

  • this 70s spiderman shows just how far weve come over the years to special effects and tachnology

  • Comment removed

  • Porn Spiderman

  • Wow, this looks like utter garbage. Too funny.

  • 0:03 AHHHH!

  • Truth be told, I was born in 1981 and I remember seeing a preview of this on one of my Incredible Hulk VHS tapes. I didn't care about the effects then, it was just cool seeing Spider-Man in a live action format. Looking back on it the effects are bad, acting is cheesy, music is cheesy, and etc. But at the time who really cared? All I cared about was seeing Spider-Man!

  • @LastSunrise1981

What did you think of the new movies? did you know Spider-Man the movie was in development hell since 1984 with Cannon then in the 90's with Carolco/MGM and James Cameron suppose to direct?

  • Kinda happy i'm part of the 21st century. Don't get me wrong i love my old school stuff but when it comes to spider i'd rather watch the newer movies than this,

  • hahahaha so nice :D

  • Did he have to be that stiff?

  • I'm 16, and you think I'd hate this stuff at my age. BUT NO! I love this show! I havent watched every episode, but its one of my favourite Hero shows. You've got to give the company and series makers credit, how they managed to pull off a believable series without the modern FX we have nowadays. Espicially the building climbing, that was actually someone climbing the building wearing a harness! In the films now, its all CGI climbing. I want this series released on DVD!

  • F!@#k THE 70'S HATERS,. DON'T KNOCK IT UNLESS YOU LIVED IT.

THE 90's and the first 10 years of the 21st century IS NOTHING to brag about at all. You may have HAD all this technology HANDED to you but those generations are more dumbed down, violent and disrespectful than anything that has came before.

  • @the60sKid You cant use that excuse. Besides thats probably why superheroes werent meant to grace the screen before technology could allign with the look and effects of the comic book counterparts. Everything before the X-Men movie (2000) was idiotic. Well except maybe the 1970s Hulk show which wasnt bad.

  • Fucking 70's >__> stop snorting coke, doing the hussle and for the love of anything get rid of your entire fashion sense

  • Hater's? Tho' often mistaken for mid-thirties, I'm 46 so I WAS there to appreciate this. As a matter of fact, I can bragg truthfuly that I was there in my dad's ugly green pattenleather chair watching as Gigantor, Speed Racer, Kimba(Lion King ripped that off!), Marineboy & Astro-Boy(& the British import Thunderbirds) FIRST came to American TV. As for Spider-Man & Hammond, I must COUNTER-differ... :) .Parker never looked like a lawyer. He's never been seen drawn with disco-era hairdo, either.

  • Nice music. The special effects were probably cutting edge for 1978, but those goggles look horrible. This opening actually makes me want to watch it. Is it on DVD?

  • And yes, I know its a moot point since that show was on nearly 25 years ago. I'm just sayin'...

  • Nick Hammond is a fine actor but he was wrong for the part. WAY too prepy even by young Parker's standards. It just wasn't the time for Spider-Man. Hammond is one of the kids from The sound of Music. As is Angela Cartwright, A.K.A. Penny Robinson on Lost in Space. Trivia for you. As for Disco music as a theme, what was being played as Electra practised for her revenge against Dare Devil? How about The Sirens of Bayville(X-Men:E') having fun & busting baddies to 'I'm Just a girl'? See a patern?

  • @Velocity9s but on the other side, nick hammond was a pretty guy and looked like he could count from one to ten without any problems. i would rather see him (somehow handsome and a little bit clever) in it, than an ugly type or a really stupid and silly person. even if that means, that he looks a bit older than a 13 year old boy with glasses (like in the comics). I liked that choice.

  • @7forheaven Well, I see your point. To be sure we're on the same level, here; No. He was not stupid, silly or 'ugly'. And Yes, he seamed very intelligent. I meant that those in charge made the character too old. Parker started out in H.S. & in the show(as with today's shows like Smallville) they should have done the same to apeal to a larger audience. The comic Parker intereacted with adults on a fairly even level, why not so on the show? Age-13 Parker is the revamped vesion, so he dos'nt apply.
