I like this song and haven't seen the video in years. I had forgotten about all of the gymnastics performed in the video. I think Nils has had hips and knees replaced over the years - if he did this kind of stuff at his concerts + running around and being athletic at Springsteen's shows... no small wonder, I guess. Still think this song is good.... Just a short, simple little song. :-)
LMAO - He looks like a drugged up, gay gym teacher with a fetish for baggy pants and rags.
Holy smokes, the eighties brought out the worst in everyone. Tell me that's not fur for pick guard!? I am dying to see a version overdubbed with the Rocky theme (eye of the tiger).
For the record: I am a big fan of Nils, but this isn't his finest hour!!
love nils! shawn lane, frank gambale mike stern ,why do all the best artists seem to exist in relative obscurity while the likes of x-factor prevail with the general public? i know some of them are good singers but creative artists?
of the best examples of all the characteristics needed to be a great total musician,i think steve vai is amazing as an example of the modern day standards, but nils all round talent is one of the most underated in rock history.ive been a fan for years ,think hes never mined his full potential ,betrayed it even, over last 15 years, where have all the great songs gone?nevertheless THANK YOU NILS!
geeez, i'll be 50 next year, no replacements yet (i got lens implants in my eyes for 20/20+ vision) but i'm not known for backflips (spud gunning is safer, you just deal with explosive gases and plastic pipe)
I remember seeing GRIN on The Midnight Special one night and Nils hit a trampoline and did a flip and landed on his feet and started playing. My jaw dropped and I've never forgotten that stunt. I have this album and wore it out over the years. Thanks for posting. The sound on my pc is PERFECT!
I saw Nils on stage with Bruce Springsteen, streamers on his guitar and doing gymnastics. All I could think of was, "WOW!" It's been years since I've seen this video.
I had the privilege of seeing Nils Lofgren live once, over twenty years ago. It was an acoustic show, and it was terrific. Back then I only knew him from playing with Springsteen and the 'Flip' album. My dad, who is a former gymnast, was always impressed by Nils agility, and so was I. I've always loved this song, but believe it or not, I never saw this video until just now.
Bruce Springsteen said it best in his Rock and ROll hall of fame induction speech..Nils Lofgren most underrated overqualified second guitarist in all of music....
Any fool can shoot a gun...Nils is great

Awesome Nils !!!!!
A GR8 guitarist, one of the best , no gymnastics tho' now isn't it because of his back ?
molly23gud 4 years ago
Um, it could also be simply because he's 56 years old. You can only be doing flips off a trampoline for so long.
stevenpwaldon 4 years ago
Yeah age catches us all up something we can't beat, but Nils did injure his back. still a GR8 artist

this whole album is "wonderland" is great and sadly under-rated...check out the tune "daddy dream"
