Robin Proper Sheppard - who basically is Sophia is from San Diego. He spent a long time in England, having moved to London with the God Machine. As far as I know he still lives in England.

Sophia are amazing. I was also a huge God Machine fan

Don't be silly. The Legend Robert Proper Sheppard is as myzwoo says of The God Machine, american alternative metal band with albums 1992, 1993. scenes from the second storey and One Last Laugh in a Place of Dying. Then ....Sophia.  Stil prefer the raucous noises of God Machine but he has such a distinctive voice I'll settle.
