  • The Bugs Bunny dude actually has the audacity to make fun of someone. Lee was gay but not completly ugly---- a jealous and toothy fuck who seems to find himself funny. Points are made in this piece---but the piece would not exist without Liberace. Karma is hopefully a bitch for that "toothy troth"

  • he died of aids , didnt he?

  • Yet another piece of vile anti-Americanism from the state broadcaster of Great Britain.

Americans should appreciate that there are those high up in the British establishment who loathe America and Her People for breaking free from the clutches of the Crown and the City of London.

The War of Independence may seem like an eternity ago, but the Crown never forgets nor forgives.

The BBC's attack on the memory of Liberace, one of the great American musicians, is a deliberate slur on America.

  • Those two idiots in this video who decided to take an amazing artist and take away his whole persona he created should be sued for all they are worth and more. What right do they have? What talent did they possess. Who cares if Liberace was gay. More people are gay than you know and it really doesn't fucking matter. And guess what, STRAIGHT PEOPLE GET AIDS TOO! Ooooooooh god how terrible! People have sex! Gay sex, Bi sex, Straight sex! Get over it!

  • The doctor should have told the truth about how he died instead of trying to protect his image...same with the family.

Same thing will happen if George Michael dies.

  • i live in Palm Springs California - the 2 protein HIV test is cross-reactive and not accurate - Liberace got smeared in the media by the AIDS pharma scam - hivquestions - peace

  • He had as much talent as Frank or Elvis ever had. Some people just get caught by the disease. Is your partner HIV negative? Are you sure? Would you bet your life on it?

  • he was a batty man, so obviouslyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.. aids

  • @Queenweezy1 get an education.

  • Liberace was an entertainer extraordinair, I watched he tv show when I was 7 years old and in the days of 8 track tapes, I had Liberace 8 track in my car. I never thought about him being gay, I just loved the way he put on a show, he didn't just play the piano, he entertained you...like Elvis , Marty Robbins , Jerry lee Lewis, Liberace was a great entertainer.

  • @jamesojld Well said. Michael Jackson got the same treatment - just in a different way. :)

  • to the man at the end...i hope someone repeatedly rapes you anally. you son of a bitch. ever hear of not speaking ill of the dead???

  • @bonscott01 bad but true! he is a no one! Liberace is Liberace! RIP

  • instead of vilifying those who died from aids why don't we point the finger at those who created the virus in US laboratories and then unleashed it innocent African villagers under the guise of a Polio vaccine.

  • @TelecasterLPGTop REALLY???

  • it beats me how the darn Americans and the Brits -the most Prudent societies in the world for sure-react in such a manner as to Liberace's Private life instead of complimenting for what he was, a great Musician and entertainer!!!! Folks in continental Europe -like Germany - where I live, are less bothered about one's views in rather than for what they have accomplished in Life.... Hypocrites is the best suited term for such miserable people!!!! Everything originated from the Empire I guess!!

  • hitcan79 , yes you have a point, but the British press is not the British people - right wing Republicans we don't have and having seen some of the 'gay is evil' US films of the 1950's I would still say the British people are less reactionary . Liberace , like Freddy Mercury had great artistic talent as so do many others - lets be glad of their lives - not bitter that the press/media hadn't the respect for them their public did.

  • Lee was the world's greatest showman, although that is secondary to his phenomenal musicianship. This no-account in the video shall remain just that, while Lee's artistry will be enjoyed endlessly.

  • Dear Jesus, can't a citizen of the greatest civil right country on earth die and be buried in privacy and peace? Yes, he died due to complications associated with AIDS, but we have no real proof how he contracted it...yes, there's (always) a lot of rummors, but who really knows and whose business is it anyway? All that should be remembered is that he was "Mr. showmanship" a phominal pianist who only wanted to give enjoyment to the people who were luck enough to hear/see him perform his magic.

  • The hearse was rather old for the 1980s. Looks like a 1962.

  • Regrettably, Liberace buried his great musical talent by the glitz , the US treatment of 'recently dead' personalities, especially if there's the slight doubt they (the personalities) were angels in life as well as after, is not as fair as in the UK and some other countries which is a damn shame. He wasn't perfect but the happiness he brought to his audiences surely outweighed any 'sins' .

  • @4825mixd The UK is just as guilty as the US is when it comes to this shit, Look what the British press did to Freddy Mercury, that was just plain and simply insane. so I wouldn't be praising the UK too much there,.

  • I just randomly stumbled upon this clip. I wasn't aware of this before. That coroner will surely reap what he sowed. R.I.P. Liberace.

  • What is the song that plays in the background? Just curious.

  • Elton John, Freddie Mercury, and Liberace....all guy musicians and singers. Why should people be so wrapped up in what their sexual orientation is or was? The fact of the matter is Liberace was great! Just an amazing and gifted man. When I think about him, I just think about the music he made, and the simply amazing showmanship that he possessed. Sexual orientation to me, is simply not a factor in musical ability.

  • I remember Liberace for the unmistakable talent; the bringing of the classics to the 'uncultured' (what REM would call 'Automatic For The People') and the pop elements to the 'establishment'; his on-stage persona; and his ability to communicate with his audience. All the matters of his romantic affiliations and death by AIDS are merely 'after-the-fact' footnotes to a great life.

  • Not only was Liberace an incredible talent- possible, the likes we will never see again- He was such a wonderful, caring, first class gentleman.

I met Liberace when i was in college- At the time, he was promoting his book- He spoke to you as if you were the most important person in the world- And, as a helper in the book store where I was working, he came to thank me personally, and spoke to me about my dreams and future plans- I adored him, and, he will always remain in my thoughts and heart.

  • @designsonyouinparis Wow lucky you-I always had a crush on him,he just seemed, very, very sweet to me

  • WOW, THAT DOCTOR WOULD HAVE GOTTEN HIS UNDERPANTS SUED OF HIS ASS IF THAT WAS IN THIS CENTURY. BUT I GUEES, THEY HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO TELL THE PUBLIC WHAT A PERSON DIED FROM. JUST LIKE THEY DID MICHEAL JACKSON...HOW SAD, AND THEY GUYS WHO ANNONCED HIS DEATH HIS TEETH ARE BLACK, AND I BET HE IS DEAD ALSON.

  • Sensationalistic journalism borders on being evil... and that sickening press conference... to this day that pig coroner is still more thrilled about his 5 minutes of fame than protecting a dead man's right to take his personal secrets with him to the grave. Rest in Peace, Lee.

  • I remember Liberace for what he was a pianist, entertainer the inspiration of the beauty of many forms of music. He was a magnificent showman amidst the stuffiness of classical performance. Matters not of his sexuality and his private life who are you to judge?

  • like Jim Nabors was really a "straight man" yeah, RIGHT!!! calling Librace a screaming queen, when he"s one himself..

  • HOW DARE YOU TAKE AWAY FROM THIS MAN HIS HONOR. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL? HE WAS ONE TALENTED MAN. HE HAD AIDS SO WHAT!!! DID WE NOT ENJOY HIS MUSIC? DID WE NOT ENJOY HIS SHOWS? HE DID NOT CHOOSE TO SHARE HIS PRIVATE LIFE WITH US SO WHAT. IT IS NONE OF OUR BUSINESS. NO I AM NOT GAY. I AM STRAIGHT. BUT COME ON. I AM SICK TO DEATH OF DESTROYING SOMEONE BECAUSE OF WHO THEY LOVE OR SLEEP WITH OR HOW THEY WORSHIP . GROW UP

  • WHO CARES WHAT HE WAS RIP!

  • The Man has given me (and millions other) much pleasure, such a shame he was not allowed to leave this world peacefully !

  • Who is the weirdo talking at the end of this video? He needs to be slapped! I lived in Las Vegas during the 70s and had the privilege and pleasure of meeting and knowing Liberace. I was a bartender at the Hilton where he played. We would some times talk late after the shows at a Disco-Bar known as the Brewery on Paradise Road not far from the Hilton International where he played. He was a very nice person and very generous. Yes, he was gay but, so what! I'm straight & I enjoyed him.

  • @Moscato51 the guy talking at the end was jim nabors who is btw gay himself...

  • @brut2011

The "guy talking at the end" was Ray Mungo, a biographer. At the right of this page (see green shirt) he can be seen in another clip, which identifies him. Yes, he does resemble Jim Neighbors.

  • @beeblmeyer But does he sing as beautifully?

  • @Moscato51 GOOD! :)

  • @Moscato51 Thank you for sharing your experience of working with and knowing Liberace in person. I have read about him extensively and your sentiments are echoed repeatedly elsewhere, ie, that Liberace was a kind and generous person who brightened the lives of so many people. It is shameful that creatures like the one at the end of this video should be afforded an opportunity to make such silly comments but I guess that is his 12 (I timed it) seconds of fame! He probably has it on DVD.

  • @Moscato51 You "enjoyed" him.

  • @Moscato51

Ray Mungo, a biographer. He is identifies in another clip which in the list at the right on this page. The story about his grandmother is interesting. It's clear to me that Ray is/was gay and had great admiration for Liberace.

  • NO HOMO

  • @dopefisher

    BIG HOMO

  • I am sure the world will miss that toothy freak -- whathisname?

Liberace had more class, talent, and humanity than most anybody today. There will NEVER be an equal to him. His personal life was just that- personal.

Shame on those who made his passing a media circus. We owe him a great debt for the entertainment he generously shared.

  • This comment might not have any relation to the video itself, but could someone please tell me the song in this video please?

  • @OshareHime Rachmaninoff Prelude in C# Minor - pretty certain it's not Liberace playing - he was not really a great pianist-too showy - not famous for his interpretative genius, and this performance is not that bad!

  • @Rastaleus2 Thank you so much for responding to my comment! :D ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

  • The coroner looks as big a jerk as he sounds , in his out sized jacket. Its sad that Liberace got caught up in the aids hysteria of that time , and that a nobody could strip him of his wish of privacy.

  • I remember watching Liberace on t.v. as a child! He had great talent and professed his love of his mother and brother, George! My own mother couldn't wait til his next show to see what flambouyant costumes he would be wearing. His personal life should be left personal and his talent should be enjoyed, he was a gifted piano player and a classic entertainer. R.I.P.

  • When you're a rich Hollywood movie guy you're not going to keep much stuff secret. So don't expect it.

  • great example of OBESITY IN AMERICA

  • And in the end , he put on a good show. Rest in Peace

  • Who cares how he died? He could have slipped in the bath tub. The coroner is an ass that belongs in hell. That dickhead at the end can join him. I hope they are forced to listen to Liberace's misic at about 200db for eternity!

  • LIBERACE WAS THE ONLY SOLO ACT TO SELL OUT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN FOR 30 DAYS STRAIGHT.NOT EVEN SINATRA OR ELVIS OR ANY BODY HAS DONE THAT THEN OR NOW.SO THE CREEP WITH THE TEETH IS AN IDIOT.PLUS HE WAS A GENEROUS,LOVING AND KIND HUMAN BEING WHO HELPED MANY AN UNKNOWN ARTIST CAREERS.ASK STREISAND WHAT SHE THINKS OF LIBERACE. SO KISS OFF ASSHOLE.ZENITH APOLLO STAR

  • @TheCiaP2 I had the pleasure of seeing Liberace at Radio City as a very young girl and I also visited his museum in Vegas and toured his home many moons ago. I would say Liberace is one of the greatest entertainers of all time in any music genre. Even his name in English ,like with Einstein, means best of class. Not many people can say this in the world.

  • the ugly dude at the end should DDDDDDDDDDDDIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

  • @Thegr8guitarplayer and how UGLY was he

  • Good grief ...... but out "horseface" in the last 3 seconds. Just edit the clip for heavens sake.

  • What are you all on about? He didn't kill babies or invade Poland, he was just gay for God's sake. No one really cares, so enjoy the damn music.

  • let's remember this man for his music, and his entertainment, rather than for being a homosexual. Not that I could give a damn that he was. It's what he wanted.

  • That was very unprofessional and disrespectful of the coroner, he had no right to announce to the press Liberaces personal business. He looked like he had a fill day announcing the cause of his death.

  • The coroner that wanted his fame should be ashamed. The world did not need to know how Liberace died, and I don't think most people cared. I was just sad that I knew I would never see him perform again, because there will never be another Liberace.

  • I think the guy in the green shirt is irrelevant. He laughs about Liberace being a queen on stage...is he secretly jealous because he is just a regular gay guy, not on stage? Liberace's personal preferences take nothing away from his spectacular talent. Also, the coroner's admission that he enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame--at the post-death humiliation of someone else-- is dispicible.

  • The greenshirt snake with Horse teeth is a shame !!

Cut him out of the liberace video!

  • I'm not trying to sound dismissive or overly cheesy or anything...

(and I realize that I may sound like a hypocrite since I'm posting on a video about his death)

... but who the hell wants to focus on how he died? why aren't we focusing more on how he lived instead? He was one of the greatest of all time! Nothing else matters except the interaction between him and his his keys.... in my humble opinion

  • The three biggest Musician deaths in my life time were:Liberace,Kurt Cobain&Michael Jackson I was a fan of all three. And none of them had privacy after death, either. Sadly all three were also my favs. Liberace, however isn't as well known in my age group

  • Horse teeth in the greenshirt looks like a jack ass. He wishes he had Liberace's fame and unique talent.

  • Horse teeth in the green teeth looks like a jack ass. He wishes he had Liberace's fame and unique talent.

  • what is the name of the song?

  • @matprithellodave Its Rachmaninows Prelude in C-sharp minor

  • @Egestus18 The dinosaur orgy that starts "Hyperion"

  • The Coroner is an American Hero. He performed an enormous public service. When Liberace died, AIDS had been ignored by the public and government. Most Aids victims were anonymous gay men. President Reagan had done nothing to fight AIDS, providing no funds or services. Public opinion turned around when people learned that popular entertainers -- specifically, Rock Hudson and Liberace -- had died of AIDS. Suddenly, President Reagan had to act and funding materialized to help AIDS victims.

  • People piss me off

  • A 1960 Cadillac hearse? Talk about drama.

  • @morearsethanclass The only one who now comes close is Andre Rieu.

  • A lot of straight people all over the world have contracted AIDS- not just gays. That he was being punished for being gay is an absurd inference. The only concern the coroner should have had was whether or not the death was the result of homocide.

He was accepted for who he was, and I guess for some: in spite of who he was. Anybody who thought he was not gay must have led a sheltered life or assumed L was a brilliant actor with an agenda- a straight man playing a gay one. Thanks Lee.

  • The Coroner the ordered the autopsy was a weasel, a scumbag and a pathetic opportunistic fool.

  • @Nomadxx11B Agreed.

  • dude at the end of this vid is a moron and should go fu@# himself, he knows nothing about music. liberace changed the way people in all genre's of music played the piano. he was not only the best piano player of our time but knew how to entertain while doing it. he was a kind man and a gentlemen.

  • @jimmygboyd agreed

  • What in the Hell does it matter to anyone else what someone does in their bedroom It is none of their business to what someone else choses to do. He was one of the greatest preformers and a very sweet person I bless him and have many of his DVD's and CD's. Love You Liberace.

  • The Dude with the horse teeth looks and talks like a ass. Liberace made more money for a reason, being gay had nothing to do with it.

  • @bleachluv97 if you believe that flamboyance had nothing to do with it. There are plenty of great pianists, but his flare got him the attention, and gay guys tend to be rather flamboyant...Elton John, Fredie Mercury...Bowie clames to be bi, but im using him too, these guys made fans using their visual art as well as musical.

  • @bleachluv97

    shut up flamboyant faggot.

  • @bleachluv97 Yes it did he lived a secretive life while poor people paid good money to watch him play, there has to be a balance by what and how people live their lives at the expense of others, he paid the final penalty for his homosexual life, and these things are the property of the public who paid to see him. Be careful what you write because it just might bite you in the bum?

  • @bleachluv97 Really

  • @bleachluv97 That guy is gay. He isn't criticizing Liberace, he's talking about how he won freedom for the gay community.

  • @bleachluv97 YEP!! Liberace Should have the SAME or MORE staying "POWER" than frank s. or elvis.. he was GREAT! nasty gut in green shirt is full of ##@***! Liberace WAS NOT A DRAG QUEEN!

  • Remember Rock Hudson was also gay....Who cares they were great artists...I loved them all.

  • The guy at the end does have a point. I don't know anyone that owns any of Liberace's music but he was the first flamboyant male entertainer. I don't think that's an insult to say. He was a great musician but he mostly played other's music. His greatness was his showmanship.

  • The media of then as well as today are the biggest pile of dog shit. Look at the feeding frenzy and for what? 90 seconds of news fill? A double column story? Fucking whores

  • Sad, just so sad that the media was more focused on the cause of his death rather than what a beautifully talented man he was.

  • that dude at the end should be shot. what a lowlife scum of the earth. he should be honored to kiss liberace's feet.

  • Liberace was an Entertainer. His shows, his flamboyance, his music, his talent. I believe his recordings will go on. Not music on CDs, you need the full package. He was a stage performer who took an audience by the hand and led them into his world. That was his gift. To make fun of the not very nice world by sending it up with antics. I love his shows. And I admire him.

  • I'm willing to stake my life that here are alot of Gay men out there with more compassion than you evil people. You're a bunch of parasites who live of off other people's pain. Your life isn't over yet!

  • "We had over 2300 phone calls over the next 2 days" I call bullshit on that one.. How could he possible have known? It's not like they have answered all these phone calls. Even if they did, who the hell would care to count.

It's not like they had logs of every call, this wasn't even in the 21st century for god's sake!

  • There's only ONE Liberace. Master Showman setting precedents for all who followed. Lee is THE original. Truly deserving of his worldwide recognition...the costumes/pianos were one thing...but...no one can ever say the man played piano like no other...before or since. We are truly Blessed to have his recordings and videos...never to be forgotten! However...because he admired their talents Liberace always told Ferrante & Teicher..."In my book you'll always be #1"

  • Not a lot of people can take classical piano and package it so mainstream audience unwrap. Some folks, including kids got rare exposure to one of the fine arts, thanks to Liberace. I don't doubt many were inspired to pursue an interest Liberace first lit on some TV show. I think the idiot at the end has no clue how to measure impact.

  • This guy acts like such a victom in this thing and yet hes the one who pulled the whole thing off for his own personal gain "sick bastard" no respect for his personal wishes . On the other hand he covered up his being gay very well i wish more GAGAs would follow in his footsteps LOL RIP

  • This guy acts like such a victom in this thing and yet hes the one who pulled the whole thing off foe his own personal gain "sick bastard" no respect for his personal wishes . On the other hand he covered up his being gay very well i wish more GAGAs would follow in his footsteps LOL RIP

  • the dude at the end is an absolute jerk...and he dresses weird

  • "A screaming queen on stage hahaha".

  • @locsman

    As opposed to what?

What point are you attempting to make - that Lib WASN'T a screaming queen on stage, or that it's funny that he was a screaming queen on stage?

    Or something else?

  • he went hell dont matter how he died lol

  • Liberace was the man. In my humble opinion one of the best pianists the world has ever seen. Truly a wonderful musician-everything he played had such grace and style. Such a shame his final wishes were not granted, but those who appreciate his talent will always remember him for his music and not his personal life.

  • @bigpmc wow

  • How Liberace died here is not important but that he had to face God with the way he choose to live his life and where he would spend eternity, the bible say there is only one way to Him is through Jesus Christ, God give EVERYONE an opportunity to repent, accept Jesus Christ and get their lives together and if we don't go ahead and really really enjoy your life here because you will suffer for eternity.

  • When the world says homosexuality is of no consequence, the world is about to die from its own delusions.

  • @claudius2u

Only if the 2% of the population who are homosexual create a massive army and hit squad to kill everybody else and blow up the planet.

I'm not expecting that in the next three months. Are you?

  • @Rajamuttu

Well, the point of my assertion is that when moral degeneration is so complete among mankind that we assume homosexuality is just an expression of sexual preference, then our presence upon planet earth is about to end, as it is only heterosexual respect and adherence that maintains our presence here. I don't think that's too much of a stretch for you, is it?

  • When I think of Liberace, I think of great music and outstanding showmanship. I don't think about his sexual preference or what goes on in the man's bedroom. Just a damn shame that most people refer to him as, "the great gay pianist".

  • this is a stupid video fill with stpid people

  • Idiot nobody coroner. He said his time in the limelight had made him world famous. Who even knows his name today, but everyone knows the name Liberace.

  • There were several "acquaintances" who wanted to know if Lib had passed on his "legacy" from behind closed doors.

  • No one really needed to know the cause of his death, but appreciated his musical talents. Nothing needed to be said about his private life or sexual preference. All was needed to know that he was talented, funny and entertaining with a good sense of humor.

  • The coroner thought he became "world famous"? Never heard of him

  • I blame the man who fucked that first monkey.

  • fuck this bearded goat fucker and this buck toothed beaver

  • It doesn't change the fact that he was an amazing performer!!! --- That bucktoothed guy at the end of the video looked like someone mixed up a batch of gingivitis, tartar, gum rot, yellow paint, sewer funk, coffee grinds with plaque and attacked his grill with a deadly concoction. Dude, visit the dentist and buy a toothbrush and Colgate. Please!!

  • He says: "It was like a circus" YES-- thanks to you, jerk.

  • Why was it anybody's business other than Liberace's family? Homophobia at its worst. How deeply disrespectful.I'm no great Liberace fan,(his playing was a bit cheesy for me)but he seemed like a nice guy who gave his all for his fans and conducted his private life without seeking to splash it all over the papers. That coroner was a creep.

  • Thank you Liberace, for all of the wonderful moments of happiness that you gave to your audiences. I hope you found happiness and peace in this life and the life to come. It's alright that you were gay. I'm sorry you died from such a horrible disease but I'm glad that you had time to reflect and be close to God before you entered into His Kingdom. Please pray for all of us who are still here. God bless you and please tell the Lord hello for me :)

  • The pope's a catholic?

  • "CLASSIc AMERICAN STUPIDITY"- IT'S A BBC CLIP YOU DUMBASS(DRSTEVEREY). CORONOR=useless existence? what the fuck do you do? LIBERACE WAS A BORE musically.

  • it's the coroner's job, in the dark of night they haul Liberace's body to LA

what were they trying to hide, not like everybody did not know he was gay,

and in the end having unprotected sex with young men that he did not know

" that dude at the end was right " Liberace did not change or move music forward,

" greatest showman ever " no, you got to change history, greatest showman ever,

    i would pick DIAGHILEV

  • I have to say, what a piece of garbage this is. It's not because the coroner reported on his death. It's the manner in which this video was made. No class.

  • What in the world is with the dramatic piano music?

  • @blkchk Well, how about you learn how to do it and they you tell us.

Thank you and God bless you Liberace.

  • @starfish1945 What is your snide remark for? I wasn't criticizing Liberace. I like him. I was commenting on the rude manner of the interviewer and video content.

I swear, the stupidity of people who comment on YouTube is sometimes staggering.

  • Coroner's announce the cause of death everyday. It's a job. That's how we know if plagues exist. Shame on Liberace's people for dodging it and for making the truth seem in bad taste. If being gay is OK, then why did Liberace try to deny and evade the topic so much? Elton and Boy George and Chris Crocker are more honest at least.

  • @JoeyFudd Some want to be open, and others don't. Adam Lambert was 'outed' after pictures surfaced. Rock Hudson lived in the closest too. But now we have Prince Poppycock who's door is wide open and already admitted to being gay. It depends on the person, and probably there family has a lot to do with it. With Lambert it cost him his Idol win. Maybe it did with Poppycock too,who knows. He just didn't care as much as Lambert,I guess. I personally don't care.

  • @JoeyFudd

the names of people you mentioned who came out were from a time period of general accetance of gay people in liberace's time it was known but kept quiet, also the church had more influence on the public then than it does today, i don't think its any ones buisness myself if thats lying then so be it people don't reveal everything to everyone and still live happy lifes gay or straight .

  • I think everyone knew Liberace died of aids, so what, it didn't take away from the great showman and humanitarian he was. People, get a life, does it make you feel better now knowing he died of aids. I still admire and love the man.

  • They do say the only thing they couldn’t sell on the Antiques Roadshow was Liberace's piano stool, dirty bastard.

  • These people become celebs because they *want* to be in the public eye. So for people to start protesting that they should be left to their privacy seems inconsistent to me.

  • May his soul rest in peace...

  • Wow...really? Liberace was a wonderful performer...long live his legacy and his music! Did it really matter how Liberace died...that much? Does the coroner who demanded the autopsy feel any remorse at all...that due to media and Liberace's fame...that any news would be told...that Liberace's privacy would be stripped away from him even at death from this world? I wonder.

  • If you visit the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas, they explain that what Liberace actually died of was emphysema; He was a heavy smoker, and the condition was aggravated by his HIV. As for his being gay, in 2010, who gives a shit?? ;)

  • The man was gifted....not only with the ability to play the piano but his singing voice. I don't care if he was gay or not....I just wonder if he had a kind heart? I grew up watching him on TV. My sister got to see him perform in person! And in Nov., we are going to go to the museum! Can't wait.

  • @TexasRose50 -better hurry it's closing in October!

  • @Redrose0325 Is it closing for good...or just for the season? Guess we will miss it either way. We won't be there till Nov. Darn. Thanks for the info. anyway.

  • @TexasRose50 yup indefinitely, I read it on CNN, it won't me post the link here but you can find it if you google cnn + liberace..

  • @Redrose0325 Ok thanks.

  • Fix your teeth man and then have an opinion about art....

  • @crystalpurple you can say that AGAIN!! And, its surely not that he doesn't have the money. HA HA.. what a joke!

  • What a shit head coroner. People just are set out to ruin shit. Let the man die in peace. He loved what he did and was wonderful at his trade. Remember him for that and my the coroner rot in hell

  • Whats truly important is that Liberace was one of the greatest pianist of all times and should go down in history for that only, as far as his sexual preferences, some of the biggest celeberties we see on tv and in movies also have hidden sexual preferences, so what else is new ?

  • HOPEFULLY THAT CORONER IS LONG DEAD! From the looks of him, he was ready to drop anysecond from coronary heart disease or liver failure, diabetes. May they rip his bloated carcass apart when he kicks the bucket, and strew it out along the desert for the vultures, like himself to DEVOUR!

  • Homosexuality is quite common both in show biz people and classical music performers, and Liberace was a star in both categories. He didn't try to hide his same-sex preference in his later life, in fact he made fun of himself with his outrageous costumes that deliberately flaunted his sexual orientation. It's too bad he wasn't more careful about is choice of sex partners, AIDS is not a pleasant way to die.

  • You know every several years there's a big celebrity death and also some type of speculation. I don't really remember Liberace though i was only about 5 when he died. But the first big one I remember was Kurt Cobain,I remember how huge it was and all the rumors and so forth. And now it's Michael Jackson. The press always does this. I don't agree with it but that's the way it is

  • what is the piece in the background?

  • @P101794 Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C Sharp Minor, op. 3 no. 2. Not sure if that is Liberace's recording, though.

  • did that coroner play in Jurassic park

  • @TiGGerPlayer lol. it does look like him

  • liberace is more famous then elvis more famous then frank sinatra himself you republican assholes

  • The Statement about there not being CD's sold in storea, Liberace was before CD, have a lot of his records and DVD;s that were made after his death!! He is still the best showman around yet today!! Who cares if he was gay, look at the people surpassed in the music world. N one says much these days about Elton John being gay, who cares!!

  • What a horrible person the coronor was--just for a few seconds in the spotlight. I hope when he dies they find him in a bra and panties next to a goat.

  • What a shame this great showman could not have been left to rest in peace. Who cares whether he was gay or what he died of? He should be remembered as a gifted pianist and one of the most consumate entertainers of his day.

    RIP Liberace

  • What difference does it make what did he die of? He was a great performer !!

  • Liberace denied who he was for years. To deny oneself of who they are is a case of psychological dysfunction. He should have been proud of being a gay male. Autopsies are necessary in order to find out how a person died, whether naturally or unnaturally. The coroner did his job. The fact of the matter is Liberace was a gay male, a great pianist, and he died of the complications from AIDS.

  • Society becomes more enlightened but there's plenty hate still out there.

And never forget the furious demonising of those with HIV/AIDS in the 80s - certain media, religious shills and politicians used it to boost their hypocritical hate agendas. Falwell would "preach" that gays and addicts deserved AIDS as a smote from God. Reagan pretended it didnt exist. Parents picketed schools to exclude kids or sit them behind screens. What chance would a dying Lee have against such cruel hysteria?

  • @Phatbowler

Liberace wasn't gay, he was a pianist and a showman. That's all the identity he wanted.

He didn't define himself by his sexuality when he was alive and being politicized after his death by any movement denies who he really was: the ultimate entertainer.

  • That friggin coroner overstepped his bounds. Liberace was under the care of a physician. The coroner only needed to verify the physician would be signing the death certificate then release all coroner office responsibilites. The circus atmosphere would never have happened had the coroner just followed the usual order. He only wanted to make a name for himself.

  • Liberace got bad meat in the can.

  • Just shows how dispicable some human beings can be, he is a coroner not in the media, who the hell does he think he is?. Liberace's name lives on, this insignificant little man won't make the history books and will not be remembered very favourably.

  • We loved him for what he was and all that he gave us
