  • If a v8 is shorter than an i6 how does that mean the v8 is heavier in the front. Especially when the v8 is lighter over all you make no sense.

  • SpikeRazzor show me these supras with 1uz braking 9s in quarter mile. There are 100s of 9 sec 7m/2jz where are all these 1uz ? Second aftermarket support for that motor sucks and third a v8 is not as long as a straight 6 therefore your weight distribution is more in the front then in a 6 cyl

  • @1danvivaldi I never actually made that claim, since I'm not gonna lie I have no interest in drag racing although I respect the people that do. Apparently an HKS Supra easily pushed into 7's 10 years ago, hear it warped the cars frame LOL. Yes aftermarket parts is what really holds this thing back, Japan has no interest in it so likewise other won't either but AUS and NZ are your best bet as they love the 1UZ but that's like saying why bother, use an LSX for simplicity sake.

  • Tupacx2pac you would be wrong in those assumptions. My 7m with. 6265 t4 starts to spool at 2800-3000 and full boost by 3500 besides look at the supras out there fastest ones are 3l or 3.4 t4 not 1uz or 1jz

  • But seriously v8 twinturbo 14psi only 485hp not very impressive 3.0l 6cyl turbo 14psi t4 makes more seems like a waste

  • @1danvivaldi While the 3l t4 makes about the same on 14psi, you have to consider at what revs this power is made. I'd be willing to bet everything I have that this set up starts to boost at less than 2k rpm and has bull boost by 3k - 3.2k tops. A t4 on the 7M won't start to boost till about 3.5k and you wont have full boost by 4.5k possibly 5k.

  • Look mk3supras all I was trying to say is that for the price of a 1uz swap and what the final product equals the same can be accomplished with 7mgte or 2jz and u still have a supra with a straight6 keep the history of car

  • @1danvivaldi Not really cause the 1UZ bottom line has more potential than any of the I6's Toyota makes. ALOT less weight, better weight distribution (V8's are as long and I4's), more displacement, superior power band, more power with less boost, still 100% Toyota. You can get a 1UZ for less than a few hundred dollars and it doesn't require anything special to swap since the 1UZ mounts similar if not the same as the 1/2JZ. The Aristo, Soarer etc.. use both engines in different trims.

  • Sure this thing is fast but damn if i had a twin turbo on my car it'd be making well over 480 at the wheels on a conservative tune.

  • @1danvivaldi yeah right. the 1uz is one of the most over engineered engines ever. these engines are nearly indestructible. They got 6 bolt mains and can handle well over 1000hp on the stock internals. I know the earlier models had stronger internals then the ones with vvti. They were so good bmw bought the rights to the engine and it now powers the m3 gtrs. Tuned a bit more then toyota did though.

  • why did you install the forged components... If a tt 1uz is properly tuned there is no need for those pistons, beams etc

  • @thing503 because its very very very expensive.. you can better boost the shit out of the stock motor first.. 1uz forged rods and pistons alsready costs 3000$, and then you still have to buy bearings, machinering, headgasket etc.. The 1uz has no aftermarket support so parts aren't cheap:p And the stock block can handle 500whp with good tuning..

  • @sephir2010 no mate thats the later model mk4 jza80 supra this was probly an ma70 the third generation supra that was only available as a 3 liter 7mgte or 7mge which only made 200-240hp at the engine, ( but in japan they got the much better 1jzgte engine jza70 models) so the best thing to do is swap in a 1uz or 1jzgte or 2jzgte hes done a great job and this car was probly built cheaper then a 2jzgte makes hell power and has massive torque plus would be lighter then a 1jz or 2jz

  • i have accident on my supra mk3 and i was cuz bad struts,change those please specially if have that many horse power.

  • you left the same old trasmision any way is nor bad choice that trasmision was the biggest in those year of the toyota,and one more thing is a hell of a car,i love those cars,you have the same sterring power of the car,any way be aware of the struts no very stable,and if you can change the bars,the only bad thig is a heavy weith,4026 pounds,is a very well made car have 50/50 weith distribution.
