  • maybe it doesn't LIKE oats? and was just wandering around anyway...

  • Bastard! You killed the mold! :(

  • DAMMMN don't play with food like that

  • I salute you, brave mold. Your sacrifice lets us know you a little better.

  • Hahaha it went everywhere except the oats. You'd have to be completely unconscious to not detect them

  • @themasteriswatching

Umm.... it's a slime mold... Completely unconscious is pretty much exactly what it is.

  • @flensingknife yeah but the probability haha, it's almost as if it was trying to fail

  • poor slime mold.

  • it died

  • Nice video, I would increase saturation a bit.

  • did it died?

  • hahaha

  • I feel bad for the poor slime mold :(

  • Who was the a-hole who decided to put the food higher up?? Poor mold. :(

  • @Alana8480 Seriously. Single cells have feelings too.

Well actually they don't, but the point remains

  • well done, really great video! How did the imaging work? That is, dicty is usually clear, why is it yellow here? and why does only the advancing front show color? Do you have any high quality videos of this search process?

  • @thesoundofscience

Yellow is the natural colour of this slime mould (Physarum Polycephalum). Haven't worked with dicty yet...

  • Did it die?

  • Why is the food higher up?

And why did we think there was any chance it *might* find the shortest route?

  • where did you find it?

  • faved it 5/5

  • Poor old mold.... *sniffle*

  • This was exciting and profound nature's activity when speeded up gives insight.
