You jumped the gun. Roode isn't champion just yet. I actually thought it was funny when Storm came out and gave him the thumbs up and fortune hand sign knowing what's in store for him next week. Hopefully this will be a good feud.
I haven't watched the last 3 RAWs because that show is dire at the moment. I agree that bringing Punk back so soon was a huge mistake. They managed to keep Miz and Truth of tv for a few weeks but, to me, those guys aren't belivable monster heels.

In ROH Jim Cornette, is the Jack Tuny type character. He only comes out to settle a controversial outcome to match when necessary. Not a bad boss, or someone who favors faces. Just a straight arrow authority figure. ROH's TV show is low budget, not perfect. But there presentation style is VERY different for WWE/TNA right now if you are looking for change.
When I began watching wrestling (Vince was just an announcer then) - the storylines played out in the ring. The Stronghbow/Arion feud. The Sammartino/Zbysco feud. They usually played out during their hour long show that was sent throughout the Northeast. They would add in small vignettes promoting upcoming shows in that tv viewing area There was none of this long drawn out BS that takes months to convey to the viewer. The in ring work was the story. It ain't rocket science.
