  • chrisbern75,

What kind of sound( name of sample) did you used as bass?

  • @oknomonter I don't use any samples for analog sounds. I just made it on synthesizer in Reason.

  • You told me that you're not so good to explain but this video demonstrate the contrary. Great job ! pls keep doing other tutorials like this..the jarre community will be very grateful to you ...

  • Wow, this is GREAT!! Could you publisch this as an rps file?

  • Impressionnant , bravo !

  • without delays remember me a kraftwerk style

  • i mean ur arpegiator cover and tutorial :)..

damn, u lost the file? that s*cks....

  • again,.. i have seen this tut of the delays for many times, but people.. this is by far the best one, closest to the original!!

    very very very good!!!

  • @Riezz73 Thank You very much :) But You mean my Arpegiator cover (see video responses here) not this tutorial or?

Actually I am sad because I noticed for 2 weeks, that I cancelled my Reason workfile with Arpegiator. I replaced my finished version with older not finished version :/...

  • nice video, i learned to play the bassline, but can't see the notes for the melody that starts at 1:01 :(

  • @microkorger The best way could be just to hear and play by ear. Its not difficult. Try it! Playing by ear is very very important :). If is no solution for You then you can see how I am playing this on my Arpegiator live video. You can see there few of Arpegiator arrangement lines. Look on my channel for it. Regards!

  • @chrisbern75 thanks, i'll do that. it's easy i know - but it's easy when a melody is complicated(like Equinoxe 4 or something), but i was trying to play the Arpegiator bass for ages - just because it uses only 3 notes:)

  • Nice .Thank you.

  • Astounding, mate! Congratulations on so successfully dissecting the track :)

  • magnificent

  • Congratulations for your work ,Chrisbern, very good ear and knowledge.

One question, how can you make these finger snap sound? I like very much these sound but I don't know what drum machine makes this sound.

    Lot of grettings!

  • @wutierson This finger snap is only one sample from original and I have no idea how to make it on synthesizer...

  • Very. Very. Nice. :)

  • Very. Very. Nice job. :-)

  • As a keyboarder in a band try to use a delay ( Mach des scheiss escho aus! ) ( get the f...beep! of that f...beep..ing echo! )

Great workout wit reason. Got to go to my favs!

  • @schmittwilli Ha, ha, Das sind die Puristen: "bloß keine Effekte, es soll natürlich klingen" und dann klingt es, wie Sch.... :D

  • Immaculate cover version. Real talent sir !

  • 5 stars for this video ! thank you.

But, could you put the same video but WITHOUT DELAY entirely ? Because, I think it's beautiful also without delay. thank you !

  • Gracias...buenísimo. Grandioso trabajo...te agradecería subir más tutoriales sobre música de Jarre,,

  • Wow, this is realy a great tut. Indeed the sounds are very like the originals, how do you do that - which instruments and FX do you use to create the sounds - I work with reason.

  • I made it with Reason 3.0 and used mainly the subtracors as synths (bass is combined from 2 subtractors). Now I make this great Jarre-Basses (Equinoxe, Arpegiator, Magnetic Fields) of course in Thor (Reason 4.0). Drums are drum samples from Linn Drum (search in Internet). For the synth Hi hat I used some analog Hi hat and I modulated in Redrum his pitch with external LFO from subtractor.

  • Thanks a lot Chrisbern,

I will try to make the sound, did you use standard presets from Reason Flatpack ?

    Greetz

  • No, for JMJ covers I don't use presets. I make this sounds on Thor and Subtractor. In Arpegiator only Choir is Reason preset.

  • Excellent work ! Very nice job and respectful of the original song, which is rare...

Any chance that you ever release the Reason file, even in protected format, so fans can have a close look on how you constructed the song ? :)

Keep up your good work and thanks for sharing this with us !

  • Great job man,I love arpegiator since the first time,i stil believe its timeless and JM Jarre is an alien ;) (just like Gershon Kingsley)..without the delays this song sounds like music from somr Atari game, from the 80's LOL! Great job man, thnx

  • Amazing job, keep up the good work :)

  • Hi, very cool explanation and cover.

    Congratulations for the job.

  • Which refill are you using?

  • There are no Refills. Only the samples from Linn Drum are not from Reason.

  • Respects. You are a pro.

  • Thanx Lornoir :)

  • :) This about Oxygene 8 I didn't know and about Oxygene 2 I know it sice Oxygene Tour 2008. Francis Rimert plays this 4/4 bass on Minimoog :)

  • Great tutorial!

Yes Jarre uses this 3/4 delay alot, did you know that the bass on Oxygene 2 only plays 4/4 notes?

The most crazy is Oxygene 8 because the original notes starts 1/16 before start, so it is the delay that plays the notes you hear :o)

  • Good Job friend.

  • Simple .. It's amazing .. GREAT JOB !!

  • hi, what is this for a arpegiator, its very, very good

  • As a long-time fan of Jean-Michel Jarre, I have to say this tutorial is very instructive. And gratz for replicating the music too!

  • Sounds just like the original, great stuff!!

  • amazing, how simple jarre's masterpiece is. real musicians might heard it years ago, but this is a VERY good analysis of the arpegiator.

nevertheless, one of jarres pest piecaes. it's no shame to use this simple technology.

    thanks for the work. awesome.

  • why dont you go back in time for 30 years and program a better arpegiator, without having modern computers and virtual software instruments..

  • hmm. i didn't say, i could. that's why it's a masterpiece?

    calm down :)

  • Amazing sequence!

  • 306873460'98678690'756089736*. very nice! what program used for this?

  • This is Reason 3.0 from Propellerheads. I love this software ans all my covers i make on Reason :)

  • One of the best tutorial videos I've seen!! 5 stars! :-)

  • Perfect!...Reason is amazing!5*

  • Oh yes. I love this software :)

  • Very cool. I love exploring music and all it's possibilities. Thanks for the post. Btw, wasn't this song longer?

  • Yes, that's right - it was longer

  • nice.i really like it ..you make it sound like the original

  • Thanx for the nice words Subdub21 :)

  • Very good tutorial. And it sounds like the original too. 5*
