Hey nice video. I was woundering ... how do ya like that strat of yours. I ask because I've been looking into getting a strat, and this one is not in stock at my local GC. I have been messing around with the deluxes and the standards, and was wondering why you chose this over those options I am really into hendrix, stevie ray vaughn, and john Frusciante. Do you think this strat would meet my strat tone needs? I've heard mixed things about the mohogony and pickups (sound good here though)
@JME033089 It's an expensive decision I'd be afraid to advise as haven't tried the deluxes or standards. I like my American special but it doesn't stay in tune for shit when I use the whammy. I think it has the same hardware as the deluxe. Good luck. They're all great guitars.
@MrYomom66 ur amp will need a line out or head phone out to one of the hd's inputs. skip that and hit shift and effect insert scroll up or down and ise the thumb wheel for all kinds of cool sounds
yeah i mean iv always wondered whats the best way to approch a solo. Do you just improv and then basically use the licks you like or do you go lick by lick and create a solo. Im still a bit new to writing solos.
I play over a track multiple times and keep or improve the good and try something different for the bad. I'm never 100% satified so you have to know when to say "Good enough."
wow what a sound. defo some good gilmore sounds coming from that strat. you have with out a dout got a lot better at playing sounding recording everything
The strat is all stock. The bridge itself is part of the deluxe hardware package and the pickup is a stock humbucker. I forget what they call it. Thanks
I've tried mic'ing amps many times and, wow, it's really hard to get a sound that isn't too dry or too flat. It's definitely an art. So, I'm impressed with your results here.

Very nice!
I heard a little Pink Anderson and B.B. King influences.
The effects at 3:24 has an old school kind of blues harp sound.

Hey I've been watching your videos for quite a while and I love em. Just wondering though, why didn't you mic the lead aswell?
xxxpyromaniac 2 years ago
The sound direct from the GNX is far better, far easier, and in stereo. Although this lead was accidentally recorded in mono
Thanks

great sound, i like it alot. You ever thought about puttin up some guitar lessons on how your go about writing solos? That would be great.
shaqdaddy11 2 years ago
I do have a lesson video called E minor Pentatonic All Position. As far a writing that just comes from jamming.
Thanks

Do I hear a little Gilmore influence in there? Reminds me of Pink Floyd and thats never a bad thing.
o2bgpn 2 years ago
I wasn't going for the Gilmore sound or vibe but I could definitely hear it as this song came together. Thanks!
