  • It's called comedy you go ChescaLeigh!!!!

  • Loll... truth hurts, that's all

  • Comment removed

  • @chefawkes Thanks. I hate being that person justifying their every word on YouTube but I couldn't help but have my hackles up with this one. But I absolutely understand where the defensiveness would come from, and I'll be cognizant of that in the future!

  • On behalf of black ppl, ahem: "go head and be our spokesperson girl".

  • dayum she's hot without that blonde wig

  • why dont people understand that this is a joke and the sh*t _____ say series is a joke on stereotypes? There are plenty videos like this and none of them are meant to be racist or sexist. People need to have a sense of humor these days

  • I definitely see the point of the lady in 4:45. Why couldn't she say "Shit Girls say to Black Girls." I'm asian and I've definitely said ignorant things like that too, and vice versa. I fee like she is putting is grouping white girls into one group and labeling them as racist. I understand she did not intend to make it sound look the character she was playing is racist but that is how it comes off as

  • @ConstellationsIMM If you listened, You would know that They girl was based on her

    friend. And She Was White!

  • @Youshit23 yeah I got that part duurrrr. If you knew how to read, you'd know that's not what I'm talking about. Just as people are insensitive to her, by going about things in the way that she did... she's being insensitive to others

  • @ConstellationsIMM talking about my personal experience by quoting things that have been said to me is not insensitive to others. i'm not labeling an entire group of people. once again, the meme is "shit girls say" but no one is offended that it's based on sexist stereotypes about women not being able to use the computer and being idiots. or "shit black girls say" suggesting all black women are in abusive relationships. it's an exaggeration for the sake of comedy.

  • She dealt with the ignorant questions really well. There's already an obvious split within the audience between white and black. I don't mean to be biased in saying this, but some of the white people in the audience just seemed to be paranoid and defensive of being portrayed as something as racist. The video was clearly not aimed towards racism; instead, it was comical take on what people unintentionally say on a daily basis.

  • Whoa, why is that white woman all offended about the video? Geez, it's not like the video was implying anything about ALL white women regarding their relationships with black women. I'm a white girl and I don't understand how it's suddenly "racist" for black women to speak their mind about their experiences with racism in their lives. To all the white people who are offended by her video, you need to calm the heck down. :/

  • this video isnt racist, LOL its funny how u think ur the only one that goes through this....grew up in the suburbs, of course i can relate to it, shes not racist shes a girl that grew up around plenty of white ppl to be able to make a video that I can relate to, and ive never met this girl. ppl who even have an ounce of thought that this funny video was racist dont know the definition. stop throwing out that word.

  • 04:46 totally called that the minute he walked into the audience.

  • She is really pretty.

  • I LOVE THIS WOMAN AND HER VIDEO. These white women getting in a tizzy need to consider WHY they are defensive. No, she is not being racist to you because you hold the standard of beauty. You are not strange or worth poking at and playing with. No one would disrespect you like that, where as a black woman is not granted that same respect.

  • good segment though. good conversation piece

  • the thing that i wholeheaertedly do NOT understand is how the video is racist. because literally think about it, if this black woman made a video about personal TRUE experiences of things white women have said to her, how is that racist???? if it happened, and she put it to a video, how is that racist???? if you're offended, more than likely it applied to you...

  • The video is about what majorities say to minorities. In America, Caucasians are the majority. That's it.

It's a parody. Every time SNL parodies someone, you don't see them being screamed at for making jokes

  • she made a statement through a video that a lot of minorities face from "white people" - it was not racist, it was just like saying "hey you sound ignorant when you say/ask that" People need to calm down lol

  • she's so pretty

  • Comment removed

  • Remember people being Ignorant and being racist are not the same thing.

  • White people are ridiculous. Every day they make fun of people of color and make us look bad. and thats ok? wth!

  • Chesaleigh you wo' 'em out honey!!!! Yasss ma'am luv u girl!!

  • She states that the questions aren't racist, they are ignorant. Pay attention.

  • This girl, Franchesca? She is so smart, so pretty, so well spoken. I want to be her best friend!

  • @CROCODlLE I can totally tell that your white from your comment. Its hilaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarious. NO african american person would say that " she"s so well spoken" haha. its like your saying she's different and its unusual that she's well spoken. you get it? its kinda funny and sooo crazy. its cute that you think that ok.

  • @Be1smaht - *Rubbing my head* God, there's so many trolls on the internets nowadays.

  • @CROCODlLE

    i can't tell if you're serious.

  • People are so over sensitive.

  • As a white woman, the white women in this video embarrass me. SMH.

  • i am so done with this "reverse racism" crap. if you are the majority, you are the oppressor and cannot experience racism. this also does not mean that all white people are racist. that woman is experiencing serious butt hurt for an ignorant reason. the video is hilarious

  • @biancaarenee I agree.

  • Im White and I HAVE said everything in both videos......Im not raciest I am not offended

  • Even if this was 'racist' against white people, which it isn't, it would matter because white people have never been fucking oppressed. boo hoo someone said something mean to you, well you don't live in a society systemically oppressive to you so shut up

  • @soozin511 I agree with part of your statement, but you should know, "white people" have been oppressed. People from pretty much every corner of this world have been oppressed or even enslaved at some point, yes, even 'white people". The Irish have been slaves, so has most of Scandinavia at some point in time.

Though I get what you're saying, and sure, you're right, in modern day U.S. white people aren't really that oppressed, but I guess it depends on who you ask.

  • Black women talking about their experiences with what white people say to them isn't racist. If you're offended by a black person being truthful, perhaps you should think about what you say to black people before you speak. Francesca speaks the truth - deal with it.

  • There are so many white people that find this comical. This is not racist AT ALL. Im part white part black and IVE even said these things to some of my black friends. There are far more racist things to say in the world then the things said in the video. She is amazing. If you found it racist than you probably are THINKING racist or maybe you are one.

  • @AmberAuNaturel I be cracking up at white folks sometimes. They keep getting ittie bittie tastes of what everyone else deals with all the time and worse and they totally flip their shit. One little video and they're mad, but people have to look at negative portrayals of us from their point of view every day in the media? Quit playin'

  • Wow... you have such great composure when that lady confronted you with that blunt statement and you had to repeat yourself. Aha...it is inspiring that your video has brought to realisation the ignorant comments some people say. Brilliant job Fran! Keep it up. =]

  • people need to just laugh at themselves sometimes

  • Sure, I agree that some misunderstanding goes on both ways (black to white and vice versa)...the difference is that the mainstream media has really limited/not always positive coverage of minorities...so our stereotypes (I'm white) are based on fewer/more exaggerated portrayals. Shit like THIS helps it change. I think white people who are paranoid about it are just worried they'll be seen as bad people for saying the wrong thing...or they're embarrassed that they've bought into the stereotypes.

  • Lol@the angry white people. It's not racist at all, it's the truth. Most ethnic people can attest to this. I think whites just aren't used to having a mirror put up to them like everyone else has to put up with daily, so they're getting upset.

  • @TheGiggles1989 Thank you. Lord ha mercy. Lol

  • Lady at 4:45 obviously doesn't know what the fuck a meme or a parody is, even when an explanation behind the name of Fran's video was given at the beginning of the interview. Maybe she downed a bottle of smart pills after seeing how dumb she came across when this episode aired nationally.

  • Comment removed

  • the girl at 5:56 sounds like harper from wizards of waverly place lol

  • there was a lot of good talk in this video.

  • This was a good video. Chesca explained herself very well.

  • The video isn't even racist. Shout out to Francesca!

  • most white people aren't used to seeing themselves through non-white people's eyes.

obviously some of those people can't handle being on the other side of the lens.

minorities deal with it every day.

and that was the point of her video.

    the end.

  • why was her original video so controversial? What's wrong with it? IT's funny. LAUGH.

  • In my opinion, having a conversation with someone of another race without being offensive is simply exercising common sense. It's not difficult.

  • Pointing the finger back and going no YOU'RE the racist (in this case no one was called racist) only helps avoid the conversation. Want to show how you're not racist? Be able to talk about the issue without being so defensive. The people that got up in arms about it probably have made a few of those comments and probably didn't like being called out about it.

  • The women's comment on the ghetto was amazing!!

  • okay, if you take out the black and the white it changes the context of the video completely doesn't it? the point is to highlight a prevalent issue. it is something that white girls say to black girls. and so she put it out there. and it's about who can own up to what they say. this lady at 4:45 is a classic example of those people who try to steer clear of mentioning anything race related. they just add to the problem. if you dont confront issues in society, they will never change. that's sad.

  • @yupmonk3yzrul3 that lady is retarded

  • why does he keep interrupting the audience members?? jeeeeez Anderson Cooper

  • The video wasn't meant to hurt anyone, so why are people calling it racist. It's a joke. It's not like no one has ever not once thought something stereotypical about another race. I'm glad my white friends and I can make black and white jokes without feeling like we are being racist to each other. We even do it the other way by making jokes about our own races.

  • This was a great discussion.

I liked the videos (like many white people I felt (more than) a little self conscious at times!), but I really liked the discussion here and the intelligent addressing of people reactions to it.

  • She seems educated... for a black girl ;)

  • From one black girl to another: Chesca you rock! :-)

  • I think she answered those questions so well, I really loved the videos and I think for a young person she is representing herself well

  • I was told from a white co-worker that they think little black babies are the cutest babies.

  • @mysteek631 OMG this happened at my school. Literally in class this girl had a serious discussion (she was being very serious about it) about how black babies were cuter, and I'm sitting there like WTH?! I wasn't even sure how to respond except say thanks??? And what made it even more interesting is that the girl across from me (she was white as well) looked totally embarrassed by the whole situation, I mean she looked more mortified than my face....what is really going on haha!

  • hescaleigh-- I love your videos! EKK to strangers touching your hair, and like you said, people saying, 'oh my goddd, it's soo weird' -- I would understand where that would piss you off. But people you know wanting to touch your hair because it's beautiful? I've had good hair days where my friends will come up to me and want to touch my hair. If a black friend wanted to touch my hair, I would take it as a compliment -- we have different hair types and she's just curious!! Just my opinion :)

  • @silence1202 like i said in the interview, there's nothing wrong with being curious. and if you ask to touch my hair, chances are I'll say yes. but if you just touch me without asking or act like my hair is weird, strange or start comparing it to random inanimate objects i'm going to be a little annoyed. i'm a person, not something on display to be gawked and marveled at.

  • You go girl. Love what you're doing!

  • The Ghetto is where HItler killed the Jews (fact). So why does America like to say that's where the poor people live.......makes you say hhhhmmmmm.

  • @tabugif You're talking about concentration camps. the ghettos in 1920 was where the jews were compelled to live before being shipped to the concentration camps. Now, Ghetto can also be used as a term to describe an overpopulated urban area that lives below the poverty line. You must be american.

  • I have LOCKS and that is a real statement. Everyone wants to touch my Hair I hate it because I have NO desire to TOUCH their hair.

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMMHMMMMMMMMMMMMMM *snaps finger and does the chicken neck*

  • Comment removed

  • lol chesca you are hilarious!!!!! :D

  • LMAO, I think maybe us white people should just shut up lol. As she said if you don't see any of it in yourself then don't be offended. I agree. I thought the video was great!

  • Oh shit the white lady is Tryna start a fight

  • What i find funny is the that most white people are getting offensive about something that they don't realize what they say. They can't understand it because they havent had those things said to them or about them. And I'm pretty sure that hefty lady has never been called ghetto... ni***....or look at funny because your color

  • that fat white lady sounds so stupid!!!!!!!

  • she is so gorgeous! and im white i completely agree with her ive said these things to my black friends no realizing how stupid i sound sometimes!

  • @golfbunny05 it's good that you recognize it though. (:

  • That lady at 4:45 must have been racist some time in the past on right now because she would not be as defensive and put up that guard if it were not true

  • @SkooterTheeeDog That doesn't mean that . The lady didn't realize that the video was actually Franchesca's friend she thought that it was targeted to her people considering the title "shit (white girls) say to black girls" . A lot of people of many ethnic groups (including black) were sensitive to the video's message . People need to understand that . The lady has a point since Fanchesca mentioned how general she was being . Doesn't mean she was racist -__- . Oh the stereotypes continue :D !

  • 07:00 thats like saying thats so gay as well yknow or dumb blonde jokes its steriotyping

  • Im glad she was able to hold her own on the show and educate some people! :)

  • WAIT...But she is GORGEOUS.

  • Man she's awesome for this video. Honestly what she's saying isn't racist. I've been in similar situations (especially the "you don't act black" part.) People are just curious about the differences between cultures. (That's what she meant when she was saying "ignorant", curious, not "this person's stupid"). And they want to learn more so they won't be, but sometimes the way they ask the question comes out wrong. All of us do it, no matter your race, myself included. You go girl!

  • My God, people take life so seriously. It doesn't have to "spark a dialogue", and it's most certainly not racist, even if they were saying prejudice, it's not that either. It's FUNNY. A FUNNY YOUTUBE VIDEO.

  • "by doing this, she's being racist to me *satisfied nod*"

no, you sound ignorant...you clearly don't know what the definition of racism is. just another example of america making a word too readily available for loose, improper use. study up, people!

  • that video is funny is true almost everything has been said to me and seriously if anyone is offended by the video they are STUPID

  • They are taking this way too serious! It's just a funny youtube video.

  • You handled that interview so well! So easy hoe others can make excuses to be angry!.... It's always the simple minds that need convincing! Keep doing your thing!!!!!!

  • the video was just made to be funny lol

  • To the top comments - I strongly disagree with you. Of course, when racism is linked to power it can be much more harmful, but I think it is ridiculous to state that it is impossible to be racist against white people. And it is not just simply prejudice - prejudice based on skin colour can occur against any group of people, as can racism. And there is definitely way too much ignorance and hatred in the world! The video, however, is certainly not racist nor prejudiced, it's just a funny parody..

  • Oh god, she's hilarious! and she handled the interview so well

  • @naggip

    AGREED! :)

  • i can understand where she comes from. im a muslim in america, born and raised here in fact. i try to use my own yt channel to show we are not all that different from everyone else. im not black myself, im actually the son of immigrants from india, but i saw maya angelou on 'african american voices' aired pbs who said it best - people are more alike that not alike.

  • of course the white people would get mad over this.... smh....

Francesca is getting married to A WHITE GUY!

So how in the world could she be racist...

  • @Bandgeekprincess2010 Yeah it pisses me off. If the roles were reversed no ONE would one flying fuck. Please sit yo ass down WHITE PEOPLE.

  • the second lady was fucking uptight lol funny she got put in her place

  • There is a fine line between racism and ignorance. Racism is hatred out of ignorance. This video, and all the others, are nothing more than a satirical viewpoint meant to be funny first and foremost, with maybe the possibility of educating those that are ignorant of what they say. People that take this and all videos seriously need to just take a step back and realize that they are not attacks; they are just poking fun at stereotypes.

  • 10:54-11:15 Yes!

  • White people need to be attacked on a regular basis for them to have a clue as to how nonwhites feel when whites say something off-color (no pun intended).

  • Everybody relax, waaaayyyy uptight! Waaaayyyyyy uptight!!! LOL

  • @mimi4sure THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

  • "I'm mean I think everyone says stuff like that..." EXACTLY THAT'S THE POINT THAT IS MESSED UP.

  • ANDERSON COOPER IS A DUMBASS.

  • white people just want a reason to be mad like seriously?

  • That fat bitch just had to make it a lot more then it had to be.

  • @kt4936boo She was mad wasn't she? lol

  • Comment removed

  • WHAT ABOUT THAT MOVIE WHITE CHICKS THOUGH LOL? DID ANYONE GET MAD AT THAT?

  • God bless her.

  • I really love the way she carries herself.

  • LOL WHITE PEOPLE ARE GETTIN ALL MAD!! LMAOO

  • She really came off smart/cute/super intelligent here. How rare, the only other times we see young black women is the maury povich show.

  • Her comment at 6:26 is TRUTH!!!!!! Such chutzpah to go on the show and take the heat for the entire series of "Stuff" people say, she deserves props!

  • i'm not a spokesperson for all black people!

  • I didn't need to see anderson cooper's face that close up.

  • So what would these dumbasses(including Cooper) talked about if the title would have been "Shit ignorant people say to black girls" They wouldn't have been able to get all defensive and side step the real issue that was supposed to be exposed with this video. It blows my mind that the producers of this show had such a good opportunity and let it go this route.... wow.

  • white people hate the truth, but are quick to point the finger when they see some videos about black people.... why aren't they mad about the other shit _____ people say?

  • these are her real life experiences, i still dont see how anyone can view this as racist ITS THE TRUTH

  • The comment Anderson made about not feeling like they are on a "mind field" when speaking to black people was annoying. He simply doesn't get it.

  • all those angry white ppl in the stands... the women at 4:46 is just shaking with anger. So shameful, Chesca opened something that really needed to be said. I know I've said some of these things, and its not just black/white but culture/culture. GO CHESCA!

  • Great show. . . hopefully many more to come!

  • all the white people getting offended are annoying. take a joke. damn im white and i love this haha people are ridiculous with everyone saying this is racist, like seriously...take a joke

  • SMH lmao if you are white and you are think that this video is racist, you need to look up the definition of racism. All she is doing is repeating the things that most white people say..smh..somtimes i just want to hit people over the head!! with that fat lady in the audience asking that dumb question.

  • Comment removed

  • i'm embarrassed for white people saying this is "racist" towards them lmao.. cool not knowing what racism is. thank god for chescaleigh

  • i feel the reason that people are feel it's racist is because the videos title depicts them as a stereotype which has probably never happened to them in their lives unlike many minorities

  • I'm in my mid-40's and this vid touches on the ENDLESS statements I've heard over...and over...and over...and over throughout my life thus far and, unfortunately, continue to. The "twinsies" bit reminded me of a girl I sat next to in my college philosophy class who constantly compared her skin to mine saying the more she tanned she became, the more we became twins. Not to mention being in countless check-out lanes and having my dreads groped and stroked. These experiences are soooo real.

  • chesca is sooooo pretty :-) love her

  • thank you so much bold queen! RECOGNITION WELL DESERVED !

  • the host is sooooooooooooooo cute.

  • this girl is absolutely beautiful!

and her vid was hella funny!

  • Not to sound sexist, but.....why are there no men making comments in this video??

  • they cut out the best parts... wtf

  • I loved her video. It was funny. I feel her on the hair thing as well. I'm a white girl with dread locks, and I get the most ignorant comments from people. Like "do you wash your hair?" or "white people shouldn't have dreadlocks, that's a black thing". It's irritating.

  • @metalgodess81 White females with dreadlocks can look HOT.

  • @metalgodess81 uuugh. i hate when people say that. locs don't belong to any one culture.

  • @chescalocs Thank you, my thoughts exactly.

  • She is sooo pretty!!!

  • im sorry, but that lady asking the questions around 5:05 is an idiotm shes so ignorant

  • As a white woman who grew up in a prdominately black school, I find all her statements hilarious. I've seen girls say that to my friends, and even I think the white women Anderson let talk need to be fucking shot or put down. It's not racist what she's doing, stop begging your vag in a wedge.

  • Just my opinion, but as a white woman I don't think that any sort of minority can be "racist" towards white people; at least not in the same way. Whites in the western world hold the majority of the power, wealth, and generally aren't discriminated against in the way minorities are by a long shot. To say that a black person is being just as "racist" toward a white person is kind of ridiculous and leaves the racism that is actually harmful towards a group of people to go unrecognized.

  • @krankzwho I don't think this woman is racist at all, I actually do find it funny. But I do think there are racist people whether they are white or not. I dated a black guy for a few years and his family had an issue with the simple fact that I was white.

  • @meagwoods And when you broke up with that black man, did the prejudice you suffered from his family stop affected you?

That's the difference. As a black person, racism affects me at all times from many different parts of society. Black people suffer racism on a large scale, not just individually. Maybe they were racist against you, but when you leave their presence you immediately walk into a society that accepts you or even praises you for being white.

  • @dinolandra Probably because the only thing you people contribute to society are ridiculously high crime rates and HIV.

  • @fuckinwiseguy Obvious troll is obvious. How could black people have created HIV?

  • @dinolandra No it's not the only time I've been discriminated against just because of who I am. Everyone is discriminated for things they can't help whether it be race, gender, and sexual orientation. I've been called "little white girl" even though I'm fully grown. I've been told my brother is less of a man because of his sexuality. So yes I'm fully educated on discrimination, not just racism. And yes, this video is still funny :)

  • @meagwoods

Please look up the academic definition of racism. It has to do with one group of people having an overwhelming amount of power over another group and using that power to marginalize that group of people, in the USA, white people hold that power- in every aspect of our society. By definition it is impossible, for a black, latino, asian, or whatever minority to be racist to a white person-the word you are looking for is prejudice . Know the difference.

  • @rosesdiary thank god for this comment<3

  • @rosesdiary i've been trying to say that to people and they get offended...like i'm trying to undercut their personal experience. sigh.

  • @rosesdiary Definition of racism

1: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

I looked in 4 dictionaries and nowhere did have to do with "power" in the way you were describing.Racism is someone of a particular race being prejudicial against another race. Her video wasn't racist in my opinion, but saying it is "impossible" for a minority to be racist is unspeakably ignorant.

  • @juliaforyourthoughts

"2.a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination." What the fuck do you think "power" is if it's not a policy or a system of government? Please read things through before calling me ignorant because you're offended by my comment, aka "white guilt". What minority in the USA holds as much power as whites? Shit the world!!! "Prejudice" and "Race" are different, RACE INCORPORATES POLICIES. Do you need a definition of power?

    .

  • @rosesdiary I don't have "white guilt" because I have nothing about which to feel guilty. My ancestors were not slave owners, they came to this country less than a century ago, so now you are just being mean-spirited. And if you look at the third definition from the one you referenced, it says "hatred or intolerance of another race or other races." So if a black person expresses such hatred or intolerance against white people, they would fall into that category.

  • @juliaforyourthoughts

Go to college and try to get an education, it seems the public school system has failed yet another person. I just explained to you what prejudice and racism is. Any professor, scholar, someone with a degree would tell you the exact same thing. All I can say is read "Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack" by McIntosh-that should hopefully give you a scholarly definition. other than that, i'm done, try and educate yourself. i

  • @rosesdiary I am a university student already, who has taken African American studies courses, and my professor who is black actually used the term "black racism" before. But you still think you are smarter than someone with a PhD apparently. Stop being condescending because I ALSO explained the definition of racism to you, you just don't want to listen to me because I am white. I hope for your sake you eventually learn and overcome your obvious ignorance and your own prejudices.

  • @juliaforyourthoughts it isn't though. Prejudice can happen toward white people, but racism is based on the system. The system helps white people, economically and academically. The standard of beauty is white, the good neighborhoods are white, the GOAL is to be white. Saying it is possible for a minority to be racist is ignorant.
