@drumgroovy Ok, I've never actually heard of rolling shutter before (or global shutter). I just looked it up and sort of understand what a rolling shutter means... Do you know if this is an issue for all SLR cameras, or am I just going to have to look at the in individual camera more to find out? It certainly wouldn't keep me from buying one (I'm currently saving for one), but it would just be nice to know.
@Theflyinhawaiian2000 It's an issue for all CMOS sensors, how bad it is actually depends on the cameras. Some are more noticeable than others, but it's still definitely there. Some DSLRs take great videos but the problem is still there. I guess one way you could edit is to go frame by frame and skew or shear (I can't remember which one lol) so that the frame is aligned straight. I've never tried it, so I can't tell you if it works or not.
@drumgroovy Imagine doing that with a 30fps video that's a few minutes long... Lol no thanks, I'll take the effect and just tell my friends it's actually artistic if they say my videos look shaky. Maybe they'll believe me.

Did the CMOS camera have any sort of IS? My guess would be no, while the CCD camera did... But, I may have no clue what I'm talking about :P

@Theflyinhawaiian2000 Image stabilisation will minimise vibration, but it doesn't remove the rolling shutter effect.
