  • In Soviet Russia, German Shepherd wants you.

  • This disgusts me. Your mistreatment of this animal is sick. The dog should be running and playing not waiting on your every command to sit. Torture someone else!

  • @step6350 i agree the dig is obviesly hungry

  • @step6350 get a life retard thats what people train dogs for to set foundation and rules for them just like children

  • Yeah I've got to agree with others when they say way too much food/treats... not to mention, mine was sitting and shaking at 7-8 weeks with no help from treats.

  • I HAVE A PREGNANT GERMAN SHEPERD! :D

  • give me a german shephead dogggg

  • i have one but the onlt problem the male killed alled the puppies excert one and their were alot of puppies i loved the snow white one most

  • thats not obiedient just hungry no food he wont even listen

  • Wow! Talk about overfeeding! I don't if I would call a dog following a hand full of food "obedience".

  • whatever you say, that's still way too many treats you're feeding him...

  • My APBT/Mini Shnauzer mutt (as far as I know) was sitting and waiting until i allowed it to begin eating his meal within 2 days when i brought it home at almost 8 weeks..

It doesn't need to be a GSD..

  • I have a german shepherd and he's so sweet :3 His name is King

  • so cute! look at mine!! too

  • I remember when my german shepherd was this small! Good times:)

  • i show u the german signature with a knife in your thumbface

    fuckin redneck

  • GSD do NOT need bribes. They are very smart and loyal and just a bit of love and a pat is all they need during obedience training. IT IS WRONG to keep bribing them with food as they will always expect it. Just pat them and rub their head when they do what you want and they will always listen to you WITHOUT EXPECTING A BRIBE VERY TIME.

  • To bad me and my dad are allergic or I would have had a german shepherd or golden retriver and not a poodle(I'm getting one soon)

  • i just bought a german shepard

  • DO you sell puppies?he is adorable. Are you located in NYC?

  • my runt looks like that

  • What a cute puppy :) I have an 8 week old white gsd and have started at week 7 to train her...it takes a lot of patience :)

  • there new name is american shepherd, they dont belong to the Nazis anymore

  • @bigdog7013 You're one of those who calls hot chips "freedom fries" aren't you. Idiot.

  • @bigdog7013 American Shepherds are a different breed. German Shepherds are from Germany. And it's "their".

  • @bigdog7013

    youre wrong `"american hero"

    hes not pissing on enemies

  • @GiasingaSTRIZZI nothing wrong with pissing on ur enemys corpse, thats their kill signature bitch

  • I hope you're fucking happy this video made my face melt because of massive cuteness levels

  • cute level=mind blown

  • Love my GSD so effing much!

  • LUCKY. you have a cute german sheperd, i have a black lab named cracker... dont point fingers my brother came up with the name

  • @supersonickid3 hehe funny but cute name my lab(golden) is called Laiko, named after the first dog ever in space laikA

  • @ghost8141 thats how you train them with treats until they learn to do it without the treats so shut the fuck up and learn how to spell you retarded dumb ass

  • such a cutie

  • Dont cut :c the puppy might hear you <3

  • U stupid pice of shit u are gonna make that dog fat bitch thumbs up if u aggre

  • i read you should use treats two hours after your dog's been fed so he's not working when he's hungry

  • not a good idea because he won't do tricks unless a treat is given and this not what you want with your dogs.... bad idea..

  • Nice sit

  • T.T me want puppy :(( who else want puppy but cant have it

  • that's obedience? look's like your just giving the dog treats!!!!

  • I do not mean I do not feed my puppies, I mean I do not withhold food to get and keep their attention during training. I give them their regular meals, and train them twice a day ending on a good response by the dog. German Shepherds do not require food to train them unless something is very wrong with them. Even very young GSDs will respond very well with loving praise and short training sessions. Play or a nap is good afterward. Making them try to keep up to you and their food is annoying.

  • Why do you feed the puppies so much? I could get and maintain interest from both my puppies without feeding them at all. I use praise and it works! I HATE seeing these intelligent dogs reduced to the same stupid training techniques done on other less intelligent dogs. They respond to speech, signing and you looking at them (giving them expressions).

  • he has a nice sit

    1:06

  • God I want a German Shepherd...

  • @greatxssassin1 Amen - A very big Amen!

  • i want a german sheperd

  • Will work for treats :D

  • i spoil my puppy german shepherd hes a little disobedient and overweight from all the doggy treats i give him, i just cannot deny those innocent eyes

  • "Treats" are an effective method to establish the handler as a beneficial "Alpha." Once the "Alpha" relationship is established, training, obedience and establishing acceptable behavior is much easier. German Shepherds can be incredibly loyal and trustworthy! I've worked with shepherds for decades. This handler seems to be doing just fine!

  • @TheWindjammer2 Delete two times "Alpha" in this comment and your back on track ;)

  • @CaniSport Hmmm... Not sure what you mean by "Delete two times "Alpha"? Working with G.S for years I've seen the process of establishing "alpha" played out many times. As pack animals, dogs feel much more comfortable when the alpha is established. Sogs, like horses, actually seek a relationship with humans.

By the way, was that you handling the border collie in the trials video? Great performance! My last G.S. passed away a few yesrs ago and I'm considering a Border collie!

  • @TheWindjammer2 In my opinion the "alpha-point-of-wiev" is not needed to handle and train your dog. You only need the "beneficial-part" ;)

Offcourse some dogs needs more rules, specially if they have to fit into a family, but they wont take over the world. They just do what pays best. Trust and companionship is the best way raising a puppy imo. Many handlers are too focused on establishing their "alpha-leadership" which is not really necessary. :)

  • @CaniSport Windjammer2, again. Sorry about the typos! Have you worked with both G.S. and border collies? My last G.S. was from Germany just after the Berlin wall came down and allowed more interactions between breeders. Mostly schutzhund background. Best bitch I could have ever asked for!

I've heard the B.C's need a lot of exercise and interaction. In town I have a fenced in yard but also have a rural place in Wisconsin for summers and weekends. Any thoughts?

  • @TheWindjammer2 Its my better half who is working the BC's, and yes shes doing quite well. Her newest dog is the rottweilerpup on my latest videos.

I am into schutzhund myself, mostly working as helper for primarily GSD's, rotts and malinois.

There are many bias about BC's and their activity (we have two BC's and two rotties in the house). Truth is that if they are activated 8 hours each day, they will need it! Our two is sleeping most of the day, untill "mum" comes home ;)

  • @TheWindjammer2 Reply3

I think you have enough space for any dog. Its more important for the dog to spent time with you than having endless space available. If you dedicate a half hour or two to social actvities, training etc. I believe your dog will be happy.

But mind that there is different types of BC's. Believe me, you dont want a dog from extreme herding lines if you just need a pet!

Im no expert on this field, but PM me for more info and im sure my girlfriend will answer ;)

  • Sho adorrrable

    Awwwwwww

  • Those are some seriously jealous puppies in the background.

  • rrrrumnumnumnumnum!

  • Id say most of the responses of the people are those who are just entering training school or have a teeny bit of training under their belt. They assume folks that post videos on youtube are just ignorant when it comes to training, and that their 6months-1year can stump someone with a good number of years under their belt.

Great training though, an excellent session with a puppy

  • 34 dislikes? how pathetic..

  • @NagemSeivad I know who could dislike sweet puppys?

  • Things a pup, and his head is the size of the ladys hand.. Wouldnt wanna be around when that guy grows......

  • what treats do you give her?

  • Can someone explain why i should use a clicker?? im getting a german shepherd pup in a week :)

  • @mounthood88 i envy you. i had a german shepherd and he didn't need the clicker. very smart dogs.

  • @mounthood88 a clicker is que for when a dog knows if they have done a trick right but German Shepherds are typically very smart dogs so try with out one first and if it is not working out than do so

  • @mounthood88

watch kikopup it would take to long to explain here hope this helps Type kikopup in the youtube search

  • U cn hear da other pups freaking

  • this is not obedience puppy is just eating

  • @MrAbhishekricky Yes, he/she is just eating. If you were intelligent enough to know that when he/she is older he will do good things and remember that if he does this one thing (that's good) he will have a chance to get a treat or his favorite toy. Ignorant people.

  • @MrAbhishekricky But yes, I am very sorry for me being very rude. No offence to you.

  • wanna fuk that pup deep in the ass o yeaa

  • @PravEffect1 ummm WTF?!

  • @PravEffect1 you gross siko if you wanna do somethin then do it to your self besides that pup is to good for you

  • hes SOOOO cute !!!

  • HES SO CUTE !!!!!!!!!

  • I want that puppy it's so f cute

  • The puppy looks like my german shepherd- i got her two days ago! :P

  • why does it really matter if its a treat or not, the point is she taught her 2month old puppy obedeince.

  • i what age could i take my dog down the street ?!

  • @ahme585

Any age as long as you make sure it doesn't run onto the street.

  • i want a german sheperd they are super pretechtive

  • @fallouthreerocks srry i spelled that wrong

  • great job! this is great foundation work and using food to motivate and give your dog his paycheck is being intelligent, way to go! :D

  • obedience?? he's just following her hand with all that food in it, i could get my puppy that i've never trained to do that! lets see you train him to stay! then ill be impressed

  • @Mrlvgn I'm sure this dog knows how to STAY now. Its not that hard to teach a GS puppy.

  • dude where do you get a puppy like that?!?!?!

  • @MPHerps its called a humane society...

  • This is so neat! It is very encouraging to see someone starting a young pup out in training correctly. When he goes to his new home, he will have an amazing foundation started in his training! I wish my pup's breeder had done the same.

    THUMBS UP!

    :-D

  • Very nice!! I love watching positive reinforcement training at work. The puppy is adorable too and is learning so well! To the people who are commenting on the treats, you obviously don't understand the concept of positive reinforcement training and behavioural science. Loved this video!!

  • Awesome start for this little guy. What a great job you are doing. Love to see puppies starting out WANTING to learn, using food as a positive reinforcement. I will never understand those who want to bully/punish and constantly 'correct' a puppy rather then working with their natural primary enforcer. Cute little puppy, bright and wanting to please and work together as a team.

  • For a baby like this, there is nothing wrong with using food like this. They are using the puppies meal with the looks so the training lasts as long as his dinner does. As he gets older, they will phase out using food like this and expect more work from him between rewards and also probably convert to using toys as rewards instead. Thats how it works people. Luring only fails where people don't phase it correctly. I agree that a clicker would definitely improve things mind.

  • My puppy more beautiful than this....

  • People that are like: "omg too many treats" have no idea...

I wouldnt give any treat to a puppy and I am sure this is the regular dry food for the puppy wich she gives to him/her for obedience and imprinting

The puppy does follow the food now but thats ok. Later he will do it because there is a chance to get food and after that because he gets his ball/attention.

I think she is doing well but I would add the clicker. I used it with all ym dogs.

  • @MrFlorianTV It says treats in the description, treats does not equal dry food.

  • @MrFlorianTV whats a clicker?

  • love it how they take something so not important seriously

  • my damn shepard cant even take a dumb outsude and hes 3...

  • omg i love your dog

i have one just like it !!

    /watch?v=MiUnbiuGMGo

  • why do people keep saying stupid shit like their giving him to much treats?? shes giving it its regular food of the day and using that as a method to train the dog you dumbfucks

  • @cristohv watch your mouth ...punk

  • @cristohv In the description it says "treats." Majority of treats equals too much protein, which equals weak bones. There are however treats designed for healthy bones, however neither you nor I know what the puppy is eating as far as treats, so it is not smart to insult people without having the facts.

  • @cristohv bro, why are you getting pissed? People make comments depending on their understanding of things, if you know more try to be humble instead of being a jerk

  • @cristohv Agree, they will just tell yah when they are full, don't think they are scumbags. When I fed it so little once, and I ask it if it want more, it will just lick me for a yes or just turning in circle as a no.

  • @cristohv because 90% of people in the world who have a dog are, as you put it, 'dumbfucks'

  • the dog was so cute i was PETTING THE SCREEN and the owner was so stupid i was trying to GET IN TEH VIDZ AND KILL HER

  • AWW THATS SOOOOO CUTEE!!

  • MY DOG TOOK A PENIS ON MY SHIT

  • lol you shouldnt binge him treats like that..

  • hahaha this shows more about how stupid humans are than how intelligent your dog is.....

  • Of course he's gonna follow you're hand, there's a dog treat in it. You don't expect a dog to be like "Oh a dog treat, uh meh" when you give him one. The dog just wants the treat.

  • He's not going to get fat that was his lunch she was using to train him not high fat treats. You uys are so dumb I bet you don't even know how to train dogs. This person is doing a great job...you guys need to use your brains!

  • Lol keep that kind of training up and that dog will get soooo fat

  • You shudnt give treats lyke tat the puppy will be overweight in no tym

Even this is not obedience training

  • lovely

  • cute puppy

  • 21 People were sent to jail for animal cruelty.

  • The puppy follows the hand. Treat = 1piece of food.

The dog is not whining because its bothered or annoyed. Puppies whine at nearly everything that young.

  • To everyone who doesn't know, the puppies

all wine and cry like that all the time, so think before u say "aww she's hurting the dog"

  • the besat breed ever

  • SEXY

  • 21 ppl have no respect for animals

  • @17kharis u have no respect for animals

  • @jigsaw5401 heh, YOU have no respect for animals.

  • @jigsaw5401 Care to explain how i have no respect for animals? and if i'm not mistaken, i say ur one of those 2 people who dislike this video. Am i wrong, jerk?

  • @17kharis 21 people know a bad trainer when they see one.

  • @Dore914 then you must be the 21 people who voted down, right? figures...

  • for all you know she's using hand signals instead of verbal cues...the treat is a reward positive reinfrocement is the strongest tool in training

  • dogs make me happy-_-

  • U r so not doing it right

  • i like that puppy!!!!

    He's cute!!!!

  • she sucks at training

  • She is doing the right thing.

  • you are teasin the puppy you crazy person

  • You are bothering this puppy.

  • appologies for the ignorance but i dont know if im hearing this wrong or what, but are they saying 'foos' and what the hell is that if that is what they are saying. 1:12

  • @iamdwtf fuus is german for heel, platz is german for down, sitz is german for sit!

  • @brandedharley Cheers man, I appreciate it, it's nice to be in the know

  • gonna be one fat german shepherd

  • love the way you spoil him...did that to my boi and will obey you forever

  • No, don't give him that much food, he is gonna spoil.

  • you're just taunting the poor pup....

  • she should watch ceasar millan, he would tell her this is NOT the way!

  • Good. How is it's "kill" compliance?

  • its gonna get fat :/

  • awwwwwwwwww he is so cute he looks just like mine when he was little now mine is 14 weeks

  • Wow. What a stupid idiot.

  • awww, is there any sound in the world more heartbreaking than a puppy's whine? :(

  • he looks just like mine

  • isn't 5 weeks old too young for training?

  • 4 people have been caught by the german shepard k-9 team.

  • aww

  • hey thats the way i train my german sheperd!!!!!!

  • I don't get it, there is no training being done, I never heard a single command. The dog is just following the food, which any dog would do. It would be nice if that is all training consisted of. It reminds me of when I was a child and we would climb a tree and called it mount everst, its cute to do, but in all reality it was not the same.

  • ay que bonito

  • :)

  • i wouldent give my dog that much food, coz if you give it too much food everyday it goes realy unhealthy

  • I hate to say this... Someone has to train that woman how to feed a dog properly w/o spilling the food all over.. Just leave the puppy alone... Baby is not ready for training.

  • everyone quit complaining and love the puppy. it's fucking cute.

  • let the little guy be a puppy for a few months then start the training

  • The puppy is not going to understand scenario or the true meaning of commands at 5 weeks. she is teaching him that submissive behavior (rather then dominant) will be rewarded by humans and therefore learn to be a submissive (well behaved) dog in the future.

  • He follows the food...anyways...why are you outside the kitchen?

  • But why train a 5 week old puppy? And ofcourse a puppy follows the treat and not the command. It's a PUPPY for christ's sake. Besides, I think a dog should be rewarded for the commands. Not every time necessarily, but often enough. Th world champion in obedience makes their dogs work for treats , I assure you ;) . You don't have to be hitler to make a dog obey.

  • This puppy is so freakin' adorable! (HUGZZ!!) Given this pup is only 5 weeks, there is nothing wrong with what's going on here training wise. I wouldn't go as far as to say he's following your command, cause you aren't really giving any. But he is following your hand and learning and when he pays attention and follows you, you give him yummy food. I think the most important lesson he's learning here is how to learn (and that you have yummy food to earn!)

What kind of GSD pup is he?

  • Wait, I thought you're only supposed to give the dog one piece of dog bits not a handful.

  • u are feeding it not training it. u are giving way too much food.

  • Comment removed

  • he is following the food not you and you think he knows the tricks but when you tell him to sit or stay he will not know what your talking about

  • I think the food is for the first few times. I think that with time this year, the dog can do without food because he has learned to do so by following the food. for training amateur going very well. May I ask how many months can be done training like this? I have aGerman Shepherd 45 days puppy. sorry for my English. I am Italian. tahnk you in advance.

  • best dogs

  • Wow I'm surprised by all the negativity. This pup is 5 wks old! Are you expecting a BH routine on a 5wk old puppy!! LMAO The only idiots here are the people who don't get that this pup is learning how to follow food and build muscle memory for the more formal and demanding obedience down the road. I'm wondering how all the geniuses that think this isn't obedience start their pups? Throw them in a kennel until they're a year old then yank and crank until they get some sad looking obedience?!

  • forget the obedience... THAT Puppy of yours is the CUTEST GERMAN SHEPHERD PUPPY I've ever seen!... Congratulations!

  • LOL...I was thinking the same thing. How on Earth is this obedience? This is a hungry puppy eating a lot of food with some human gibbering over the top of him. He is learning nothing but food from the hand is yummy, lol. Two people in this video who obviously know nothing about dog obedience/training, lol.

  • HOW THE HELL IS THT TRAINING OBEDIENCE?

  • You're feeding lunch from your hand. For obedience training, you will need to put simple commands (at 5 weeks they can start to learn 'sit' and 'drop') to your actions and reward when they respond correctly ie. I don't agree feeding treats when they are lifting their paws up off the ground and calling it obedience - it's feeding time.

  • @44ozzie44 I dont agree with anything you say!

  • worst training i have ever seen in my life. obedience my ass.

  • @sardonicbynature whats makes you think that? For 5 weeks of age what would you do?

  • ill tell you what i wouldnt do.....I wouldnt feed him a bunch of food and call it obedience.
