I would have done this for my cat 12 years ago if they had it in my town. What a way to keep them with you. And most towns and citys do not allow you to burry your pets in your yard anymore. They toss them all in a furnace and up they go. So whats better?

This is no different than embalming a corpse. Except that they dont then put it into a casket (rendering the embalming process absolutely useless btw) and then drop it into the ground. It is a practice that pre-dates cremation AND ground burial.

They would mummify their animals, because they believed they would live in the afterlife. Usually Egyptians mummified their cats beacause they worshipped them. They believed they were the gardians of the underworld. So their is nothing grose about it to me. I love studying Ancient Egypt.

why have to keep the dead body, when the spirit is already gone and only thing what keeps your loved one still a life is your own memories. the body just reminds you what you have lost and you just can not get griewing done, while the silent stare of the dead ones eyes is still there.
