Actually, Muff Winwood (Steve's older bro) is credited as "Getting It Together" on the LP, and Jim Capaldi reminisces with a nice story about him an Luther on the back cover as well. The two grew up together in Evesham. Both "Traffic" and "Spooky Tooth" had an intertwined history with one another :)
The first "Fat Mattress" LP used to remind me a lot of "Traffic" also....possibly due to Chris Wood's flute playing.
Luther's second solo LP "Floodgates" (1996) was a decent album, and sadly went unnoticed upon release. I bought it during the late 90's, and haven't played it much since. For some reason I couldn't really get into it at the time, though I've come to appreciate it a little more over the last couple years.
In my opinion "Upon Open Skies" (1971) is a far more adventurous/interesting effort...but comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges I suppose.
will have to ck that out (fat mattress). did know the capaldi and muff connection but forgot. figures tho. again thanx
