This says intercepts cell phone calls. I can see him getting the GSM and broadcasting on it, and I can see him hearing the broadcast but he would need to encrypt it to understand it. Because regardless of what he intercepts he can understand it do to the encryption. Am I correct?

@daicon2k6 USRP with RFX900 daughterboards including OpenBTS open-source sotware, Asterisk VOIP, attenuators, duplexer, and a directional antenna operating at the 900 MHz band... If you think about it, it is not much really.. need lots of patience to tweak it right. After all, this an "active" cellular GSM interceptor not a truly passive one :)

I have read through the comments and find it a bit strange that those that "accept" and/or favor such behavior, use the most base language. Why?

Chris is my son-in-law. I find him brilliant, charming, very like-able.

You have no idea how his decision to cross dress has affected our family. To hear you say such things about someone that you love is distressing. We have no contact with he or my daughter by their choice.

I rather enjoyed the video and so did 45,000 other people. The vast majority of viewers (including myself) watched his video for his stimulating intellect - not his shoes.

Because it IS f-ing weird for a guy to wear high heels more so under a series demonstration. I'm not vilifying the man but lets not pretend that this is normal. Whether its acceptable or not is a separate issue. Clearly no one arrested him so it is accepted. But normal? No.

This type of equipment is been around over 15 years. This "active" system can be detected though. The "passive" or "stealth" system are the hardest to detect.

@iburl Yeah, thanks, anybody can do it. Following you advice, we have just wasted $1500 on our dinner lady, to monitor the phone calls of our greatest enemy. After 3 weeks she couldn't even supply static despite us forcing her to watch this video.
