The reason this song, and countless others from that generation are so creative and wonderful to listen to, is the "feel" in the artist's hands. Tom Schultz is a mastermind of feel, we know that. Guys like David Gilmour, Ritchie Blackmore, etc are the epitome of "feeeeeeeeel". They proved you dont have to do machine gun hammer-ons and solos at 500 bpm's to score. When the heart flows through the hands and onto the instrument is when the magic alllllll happens.

Awesome. Truly genius. How could anyone today even hope to come close to this level of pure musical perfection? I mean, I like to rag on modern so-called "music" as much as anyone. I think music today is worthless crap. But when you think about it, these guys (in Boston and bands like them from back in the day) were incredible! It'd be like trying to match Beethoven or Mozart!

The key is played as if it was in D major, but the guitars are tuned up half a step making it in the key of E flat major.
