for many years i reacted viontley(?) and selfishly to any given situation,g,jesus of naz, buddha, darwin and myself have helped me overcome this stupid understanding,my children have been the most high of all teachers of ALL time...true...its easy to give up.its harder to progress with ones work if you feel alone,if you watched this video you have started the journey to your self and the world we are all part off...best wishes me...
Regarding my posts below,...I would close with this thought. I saw a post on an earlier part of this series suggesting the application of this teaching on many planes; That one must be sincere in trying to understand what is being conveyed by Gurdjieff. This therefore (in my humble opinion) becomes a very "personal work" ; a personal journey, and God willing, with effort and time, one begins to awaken little by little. As one becomes more aware, one will find his/her personal work. there is hope
I believe he also alluded to the fact that there is a (lawful) period for a school to appear, then vanish, his included. The Gurdjieff Foundation seems to be on the path to longetivity. So, Peter really hasn't answered the question posed... that there are different lineages. Is one lineage more true to Gurdjieff's intent than another? The diverse lineages were created by different students who worked under Gurdjieff.
So, the lineage are like spokes radiating off a a wheel hub (Gurdjieff). The Gurdjieff Foundation for instance, incorporates Peter Ouspensky's book, Fragments of an Unknown teaching. Ouspensky, being an intellect and mathematically-minded draws up many difficult diagrams in his book. Gurdjieff was said to have shown approval of this book for it's accuracy in transmitting many of Gurdjieff's ideas. Yet other lineages will only focus on "All & Everything, Gurdjieff's great book. So one must seek.
