  • ..You realize that a ferret can be chewed by a rottweiler and be perfectly fine? And you complain that they touched the ferret a little.

  • This is adorable! I've gotta give you credit, I can NEVER get my ferret to stay still even long enough to force him to roll over lol!

  • whats with the hate maan?:L shes not even 'pushing it' you can clearly see shes not even 'pushing' hard..yes ofcourse..thats animal abuse. stfu:L

  • Thats not abuse but really... your raeley gonna train an animal to roll over by pushing them.

  • the beginning made me laugh a lot(:

  • Oh a camera!gotta sniff it!

    *gets dragged away*

ARGH!...? oh look a camera! gotta snif it!

    *gets dragged away*

STOP TOUCHING MY BUTT!...? Oh look a camera! gotta sniff it!

    *gets dragged away*

    STOOPPP!!!Oh look a camera! gotta sn-Ohai a treat! :P

  • I left for New York City last Thursday, I came back Saturday, well, it turns out when I was gone my Ferret managed to get out of her cage and take it upon herself to think she can run my house while I'm gone... I came back, everything is missing, her treat bag is completely eaten along with her bacon bite treats. And after all that, including shit being knocked over, I couldn't help but to look at her smile and laugh.

  • well they are a bit ADD and obsessive lol at least mine are.

  • A year? I taught mine in a week.

  • >make a ferret do tricks

Giving a clown clown lessons? What?

  • To the people that Don't/Never had a Ferret should really stop saying Ferrets are easy to train cuz they really aren't. You have to be patient with them. Stop acting like they learn something in a second! Oh btw your ferret is Cute! I wanted one in that color but I got a Butterscotch one(: -3

  • u were crazy before u started trying to train a ferret!

  • Guys ferrets are so ADHD lmao. Mine is like indestructible. I roll it around and slide it across my floor. THATS HOW THEY PLAY. It gets them hyper and jumpy. They need it cause they sleep so damn long.

  • You are physically touching the ferret too much. They need to learn how to perform this trick. If you continue the training in this manner, they will never understand. Use a high value treat and gradually teach them to roll over or do clicker training with them.

  • They're trying to teach an animal tricks. That's exactly what they're doing. Not strangling it, not hitting it, just trying to teach it to roll over.

    God people.

    Leave them alone.

I hate looking up animal videos and seeing people bitching in the comment section. It annoys the hell out of me.

  • leave the animal alone!!

  • The original ADD/ADHD children. xD

  • get a small clicker (that gives a "click") sound when you press it with fingers.

teach them to react to it. revard with food.

After it inderstands the simple - command - execution - reward, you can start teaching your ferret to react to other signals, that it would otherwise not distinguish, like voice or hand signals

  • its like hes saying im a youtube star! let me at that camera..., stuff the tricks hehe

  • YOUR FERRET LOOKS JUST LIKE MINE!!!! :D so cute :]

  • This ferret ain't gonna do what a human wants! It's a warlock! It's got ferret blood! It's an F-18! Treats are for winners, and this ferret is WINNINNNNNNG. :)

  • Mine got it in like 10 min .... :D

  • lol, he looks just like my ferret frankie

  • The Camera! The Camera! The treats! The camera! The treats! The camera!

  • I'm going to start training my little bugger of a baby ferret soon, WISH ME LUCK!

  • TRAINING A FERRET IS EASY (Thats what i think)

  • I taught my ferret to roll over in 15 minutes. Just let them smell the treat then move it back behind their shoulder and around the back of their head so they have to turn their head. they'll usually fall over and you keep moving the treat so they follow it with their body. after the first few she caught on and now all i have to do it show her the treat

  • The reason he's going towards the camera is because it's tiny, for those who haven't had ferrets lol :P Atleast, I think. Did you have your camera's light on?

  • "STOP PUSHING MY BUT! WHAT IS THAT THING?? AND THAT LIGHT? STOP DRAGGING ME! WITH THE BUTT AGAIN?? CAN YOU ST- oohh a treat...." :)

  • @609Freckles LMAO

  • WTF IS THIS THING IT'S WEIRD LOOKING AH NO DON'T PUT ME BACK OVER THERE I WANT TO SNIFF THE WEIRD THING ohai treats.

  • @DemoisellePeche, you really schould look into more information about ferrets because what you are saying is NOT correct ! As you can read on the site of the american association of ferret:

    - Diets high in carbohydrates may lead to intestinal problems and some types of cancer (like fruit!). They cannot diegest fruit ect. Ferrets are obligate carnivores; therefore, the best treats to feed a ferret are meat-based. Most store-bought treats are not healthy for ferrets.

  • How are ferrets so clever in many ways yet not in others!

I think they just get bored!

  • @DarkSilvaak, you can give ferrets anything that is a 100% meat except for pig meat :) I like to used dried chicken treats.. Just DON'T give them raisins or anything else that's fruit or vegetable because this can cause blockage in their intestines!

  • @DemoisellePeche ...Do you even know what a ferret is?

Ferrets are OBLIGATE CARNIVORES, and CANNOT digest fruits and veggies. There are plenty of vitamins and supplements made for ferrets. But, if you take great care of your ferret and FEED IT THE RIGHT FOOD, it won't need any extra vitamins.

  • @FerretingAround that is simply not true. firstly, they are domesticated so they're different from the original species. secondly, they ARE used to vegetables for they eat the stomach of their prey, too. and in the stomach there are fruits, herbages ecc. also, every guidebook (I read about 8) and veterinary (I talked to 4) and breeder (I know like 10) will tell you to add fruit to their meat-based nutrition. also, I have ferrets and they are healthy and fine, thank you

  • anybody who knows anything about these animals knows that this ferret is perfectly happy

  • what kind of treats did you give it ? o: please answer :c

  • WHAT'S THIS. WHAT'S THAT. GIMME FOOD. WHAT'S OVER THERE.

  • @silvermoonwolf19 Ha.. Indeed

  • looool i wouldn't even attempt this with mine. record low attention spans lool

  • hahahah I love when he goes close to the cam

  • lol... try doing it after playtime so he/she is more worn out.

  • lol yep i have given up trying to teach my ferret tricks.

  • Lol that's so cute, I think she just wants to investigate the camera and play

  • I didn't know you could teach a ferret to roll over... but they have the memory span of a goldfish. You have to reaffirm the trick EVERY DAY with a treat. Good luck teaching her to roll over. :p

  • I can`t learn my ferret this. It seems that she thinks :

What does she mean? Why she pushes me to? Why does she say "roll over"? Hmm, tasty treat. Goodbye! And that all time :S

  • @0DolphinLover0 Your doing it wrong

  • @YoitsDro what i do wrong?

  • lol, ADD ferret xD "What's this? Oh, treat...no seriously, what is that?" xD

  • ferrets are way to smart to teach something lol.. They are like why wft ssh lol.

  • @patrick10001 Either that or they just really don't wanna listen.

  • The Pavlovian operant conditioning that might work on your calm and somewhat focused dog may not necessarily work as fast on your ferret. I have three ferrets, each of different age and personality and one thing I find common in all of them is this fact...

  • Ferrets are the charming ADHD children of the school yard!

  • It seems that the ferrets have a lot easier time training us then we do training them. I used to have one who trained us to let her up on a dresser when she was in a certain place. She was a genius. She also learned her own name because my mom would call her name when she was looking for her so we could feed her.

  • AHHA. Same fucking thing my ferret does. They are so one-tracked when it comes to action. That's why I love them. Free spirits, maaaaan.

  • rofl thats exactly what happens when I try with mine!

  • Ferret ADHD

  • you probaby hit him not enough.

  • holyshit i maganed to teach my ferret to use litter box and to stand when i snapped my fingers what you do is hold the treat abouve them and snap finger when they stand give thm the treat :D also for litter issues i find the litter box must be in a corner and if they wont use it place a few turds there and show them and the next time they go to use bathroom and not box put them in the box once they

use it they will go to it next time hope this helps :D

  • XD it made me LOL!

  • All this to make the ferre roll over? Stop make it dumb.... It's not a toy.

  • @Martelus STFU YOU DUMB IDIOT,U JUST TRY AND MAKE A NEGATIVE COMMENT ABOUT FUNNY THINGS? WHY WATCH THEM.YOU WASTED 21 SECONDS TO TELL HER IT WAS DUMB.DUMBASS.

  • Comment removed

  • @Martelus lol,ill be as aggressive as i want MOM.lmao,stfu. ur dum as fuck."it looks starving" good god can anyone post animal videos anymore? Go try and findsomething bad in everything.

  • @ViciousBrooke yeah, that's stupid, I thought the video was funny and I had no negative thoughts. if the ferret was starving it would go toward the food and not run away. I agree with you.

  • @Martelus ferrets ARE skinny tool

  • lol my ferret does the same, their like 3 year olds after toys

  • I heard that Ferrets are able to be potty trained with an actual toilet... imagine how hard it is to teach those little buggers how to use a toilet. Or even worse, imagine the mess they'd make running away (or falling in) during the process

  • Hhahahaha this is the same thing my ferret does when I'm trying to move him from something XD

He just won't give up XD

  • you shove the ferret away, it comes back..... they dont give up LOL

  • god D: i cant even litter train my ferrets... the new one i bought used to... but then my older one taught her not to >_>

  • @RaileyLeo i had the same damn problem. went in its litter box like clockwork then decided it wanted to poop where ever it wanted. thats when i found a pile of turds under my bed. couldnt get it to go in the box every time but i guess thats better than not at all.

  • hahahahah That remind me something !!!!! hahahahahahahahaha

  • the owner- no stay

    -ferret- ohhh camer

    owner- no stay

    ferret-fhuck u

    owner- roll over

ferret- ok *rolls over* now give my treat fool

    owner-*gives treat*

    ferret-ohhh banna

  • aww so cute, hes all like

"NO! I DON'T WANA! GIVE ME TREAT NAWOUGHW!"

  • haha cool ferret. i have 1 too and taught her to roll over one weekend, didn't take her very long at all. i do the same thing you do, i put a treat in front of her mouth and tap her back

  • I feel your pain T_T

  • bwhahahahahaa

  • Lol mine would NEVER obey you XD

(no, really.... he's that hard to teach... two years old, and can't do a thing about him except reducing his need to bite everyone's feet...)

  • hehe

  • haha my ferret Fritz is the same ..hes got zero manners and zero respect for my things lolz

  • he has a VERY short attention span .. is it worth teaching him tricks? :o

  • The only thing I trained my ferrets to do was to go potty before they got to go out. They still don't do it all the time! xD

  • yeah teaching ferrets trick is near impossible. I would never attempt to teach mine tricks. I would go insane, they're way too spoiled

  • Lol

  • yes mine learnt with in days as well

  • maybe your ferrets just stupid, my ferret learned roll over in 1 day.

  • That's cause your doing it wrong.

  • Haha aw, did he ever learn it?

  • i got my ferret two days ago, and she is really cute, but the guy warned me that she bit before i even got her, and yesterday she bit my boyfriends leg three times, i don't know how to train her to stop, i heard you can buy this bitter apple spray, but i don't wanna be mean, i also heard you can just ignore them when they bite, have any ideas? please message me if so. thanks. btw so cute! :)

  • @16SeXii i have three of those wonderfull little devils. and iv had alot of traing success, but even when my oldest one was alone b4 buying the others and they just need the attention you might pay to a dog or cat being left in the cage will make them crazy, they are smarter than that so if there is a room you can block off from the rest of thew house(we use our living room) and kind of "ferret proof " it so there are less thing for them to cause trouble with.

  • @16SeXii well ferrets have ticker skin then we do so when they get hyper they tend to bite as if they were biting another ferret and when their young they tend to just bit so if you get a squirt bottle and squirt them they will know that that's not ok and put him/her up and ignore them and they will know not to do it no more because they are very playfull animals and love to play so they wont like to be put back in their cage hope this helps you

  • ferrets are cute... i want a ferret

  • @luukinatuu123 nonono, u want TWO Ferrets, Ferrets are very sad, when they must live alone ._. Sorry for my bad english xD

    Lg

  • @AmaterasuBijou indeed... I got mine (with already two years old) and he was used to be with his mom/partner... and I've noticed after a couple of weeks with him that he misses having the company of his own kind, so I'm buying two more to make him company :)

  • @Weura Thats cool! :D

    When u have more Ferrets, u must make a Video! *_* <3

They're so sweet when they play together!

  • @AmaterasuBijou I'm going to get them tomorrow night :)

I'll definetely do a video with them :D

  • @Weura Awww, that's amazing!! :D <3

  • it loves you cam :D

  • Oh and ferrets live 6-10 years :P

  • That ferret looks like mine :) I love my Nixy, she learned a new trick in a week and she is 3.

  • ferrets are tough. they play extremely hard. this person is not harming that ferret .

  • Simple video, but I have had multiple ferrets for years, so I fully understand the insanity (isn't it great? Just gotta love ém!) This kept me in stitches! Thanks!

  • There has to be more to life than spending a year trying to teach a ferret to roll over. How long do those ferrets live anyway?

    hmm

  • Calm down! dont push him or her! Geez some people!

  • lmao.

  • Comment removed

  • treat...treats...I want treats...if you dont give me treats im gonna start chewing your arm...that sound good right about now...OM NOM NOM!!! (thoughts of the ferret)

  • lol aww...some ferrets are just rebals and wont learn

  • hahahaha

  • yay! it rolled over!

  • yea take it easy its a fun loving ferret, show it love and it will perform awesome tricks. (not to ruff!)

  • haha, it looks like he is just trying to look at the camera... it seems like you are a little rough with him, maybe its just me

  • Yeah, they were so ridiculously rough with the Ferret. Moving him back to place and pushing the ferret a little to signal you want him to roll over is animal abuse. WTF!

  • But pushing the ferret a little to signal you want to play wouldn't be animal abuse? What about pushing the ferret a little because it was already playing with you, and 'wrestling back' is normal?

The animal is neither traumatised, in any physical danger or pain, or under any stress. Explay why this is 'animal abuse', or kindly keep your mouthbreathing over-reactions to yourself.

  • Sarcasm is apparently too much for you to understand.

  • Inherant tones in written language are apparently too much for you to understand. :3

It is hard to seperate sarcasm from genuine idiocy, especially when you don't highlight the intended tone. Maybe i've just read too many hyperventilating "animal abuse!!1" comments and mistook your intent...

  • the other tips on the current comment page are good, as a fast guess without even researching I'd just roll the ferret over myself, then immediately give him a treat (don't have the treat so close to him until right after the roll). repeat until he gets it, although not too many times in a training session because that many treats would be unhealthy. ^^;;

  • My ferret took this trick within a week with just little practice. If you try to hold the bite at the side behind your ferrets head and let him turn around for it and move the bite along so he turns, then he automatic will do a roll and eventualy he will figure out to do this on his own! When you touch hes backside like you do he dont understand what you want!

  • @jebfx

That's how you train dogs as well. Works very well. Took about 45 minutes with my parent's lab for him to do it the first time.

  • hey at least you don't have to teach him how to be cute ;)

  • I taught my ferret how to roll over in 3 day when he was only a few monghts old. Look up how to do it, cause you aren't doing right. Your ferret is very cute by the way.

  • Over a year? I taught my ferret how to roll over after only a few days.

  • same, my ferret is a quick learner; it looks like this ferret just wants to check out the camera :)

    still cute though

  • me too

it took 5 min for her to learn the trick

under 10 without the treat in hand (treat would come from the other hand, and not systematically)

over the next days I just consolidated the trick so she'd do it anywhere

  • ahaha he looks just like mine!

  • The only "tricks" if you want to call it that is if I put my hand down towards them, they know to stand up and grab onto my wrist and hold tight as i lift them up... I thought they were amazing for that :p

  • thats what my ferret does

  • Lol the ferret was like:

Jesus Christ gimme the effing treats!

  • my ferrets dont do tricks , theyre fairly smart onto rabbits tho :)

  • lol i know that game.

  • I taught my ferret to roll over in a matter of 5 minutes.

    Here's how i did it:

I Put her coller on and showed her treat

, usually she stands up , but since she had the coller on , she rolled over instead cause she kept falling.

You should try this to get your ferret to learn tricks fast.

    Try combining tricks too.

    For example:

If your ferret stands up , teach it to spin while standing.

  • my dog doesa the pretty pretty which is just standing up and twirling lol

  • She looks like she wants that camera! xD

  • There is no such thing as a still, patient ferret. The only way that owner and ferret can properly cooperate is when they both want a shiny object. Of course the ferret will just stash it away from you afterward.

  • my ferret will play tag, hide and seak, chase

  • nice how'd u teach it to do that?

  • some ferrets play tag with ya, they'll chase ya down the hall and hop on ur foot and hopple away, mine did but just stopped and waited for me. still fun and cute though. :)

  • ferrets are fuckin funny !! ha ha i love em

  • lol it took me some time to teach my ferret to roll over.. but he loves his treats so now its easier to teach him other tricks

  • lol! he or she will get the message some time!;)

  • wow

  • If teaching ferrets to do a simple trick is so hard, can you imagine how hard it is to teach them to be in a movie?

    OMG

  • lol

  • @RaccoonSasha The Big Lebowski?

  • all my ferrets know how to stand up on two legs and walk they r really smart!

  • Funny just thinking about it

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • yay she/he did it! kinda...

    hahaha aww =]

  • haha yeah ferrets are very obstinate mammals; however, they are pretty smart ! The best way to teach your ferret to do tricks are : 1 - find treats that your ferret REALLY LOVES (I got one ferret that love bandits chicken treats and another that hate it lol so I train him on ferret-vite; even the picky eaters love it) 2 - keep the training sessions short and fun; so you can both enjoy them .. see my videos as examples =)

  • im subscribing to u to see ur vids and see how u trained ur ferrets.ok?

  • Yeah sure .. no problem !

I'm glad you liked my videos =)

  • Comment removed

  • I used to have 2 ferrets. I taught the female to roll over, play dead and stand on her back legs on command. The male... Was not so smart, however, he did learn to rollover on command lol :) They are smarter then you think.

  • It definitely needs some Ritalin.

  • beautiful!!! exactly like mine! =)

  • PaNdAPoPo983 ( siad

it is pointless they dont have big enough brains to remember

ferrets r smarter than dogs or cats

    stupid

  • um that is called pushing a ferret over..

  • lmao thats funny

  • your a dumbass, there smarter than dogs or cats, they just dont like to take the time to learn tricks/ are too energetic

  • I don't see the reason in teaching any animal to roll over.

    Pointless.
