Shrooms in an open field + bonemeal = great shroom tree where you can get a lot of shrooms from!

KURT!? under 6 minutes you find 15 diamonds. strip-mining at levels 9,10,11,and 12 for an hour yielded me 3 diamonds! (those levels have the *highest* chance of yielding diamonds.)

what you have mapped out like a fifth of the continent, you should head east or south west if you want to find more land to map out. You'll want to at least get to the west land mass because that's where you'll find the strong hold that is under land.

How you are supposed to get 12 eyes of Ender? Well, try enchanting maybe? If you get lucky enough to get the Looting enchant (especially if lucky enough for Looting level III), then I think every enderman you kill will have a chance of dropping 4-5 Enderballs, so it speeds things up. You need two diamonds and four blocks of obsidian for an enchanting table first.

Kurt, when I entered the nether while I had Diamond Armor on, it saved my life many times over. I had been making a bridge over the lava when I fell down into it. After realizing that I was not going to die, I swam down to the floor of the lava and placed down one block after another untill I could get to the top and stand on it. I survived to tell my story today. Remember these wise words in case of an emergency!

Kurt, you know water kills Endermen, right? It should make some situations like the one you encountered a little more easy so you don't freak out. And normally you carry water on you for lava, it would seem that you can make your cave diving a bit easier.

@MrMinimii Well the factor that Endermen teleport when hit by sunlight or water would make it harder. It could teleport to another cave and there goes his enderpearl. It is much easier to kill it with a sword. Enderman aren't that strong anyway.

Just grab 10 buckets full of lava to make a portal, that's what I did once. But mining 10 obsidian for a portal + 4 for an enchanting table doesn't take that long.

By the way, are baby spider spawners now way more common in mineshafts than in 1.8?

I've found a mineshaft in my world that's so full of baby spider spawners, it's incredible. So far I've found at least 6 baby spider spawners and 1 zombie spawner already and i've only explored a really small part of the mineshaft.

@luckyluke193 Really called cave spiders but no, they have not gone up. Some maps have big mineshafts that have a few cave spider spawners. They never really were that rare in the first place. You just came across a big one or a few mineshafts that are pretty close.

If you are facing Enderman like that, you can attack one of them after placing your bucked of water on the ground. Makes it very very easy.

@SamuriDude51 Any ore diagonal is a seperate vein...see at 6:58 how the diamonds are diagonal...those are 2 seperate 1 diamond veins. To be a vein the diamonds have to be on the immidiate x,y,z axis in straight lines...so the senario you saw was 2 or 3 seperate veins that looked to be one.

kurtjmac, getting enderpearls is pretty hard. I had to collect a LOT of enderpearls. enough to find TWO strongholds (the first had no portal, but both were only two days walk from spawn) it takes a long time, so you have been warned.
