  • In 72' it was called the Cobra Jet. In 73' it was renamed just 351-4v to avoid attention from insurance agencies. They were the same engine just renamed over a year. The 351 HO was different.

  • that is definatly not a cobra jet, considering they did not make a cobra jet covertible, accually they did not make a cobra jet that year. so quit lying

  • Dear scwhockey41 !

    This is a Q-code 1973 conv.

The 266hp 351 CJ (not the 72 HO) was the hottest engine in 1973, available in any of the Mustang body styles; hardtop, convertible, or fastback.

    Thanks !

  • agree!

  • Exactly mate! I've got a 73 Fastback Cobra Jet...351-4V..was the highest performing engine in 73 when they brought in all that emissions stuff. 330hp i think it was out of the box and easily made more with some basic carb and manifold tuning.

  • Ive got a 73 351 4v in a convertible with a stock 4speed/Hurst setup. Numbers matching, its a CobraJet. Go to sleep numbnutz.
