PB Tony there was someone just like David Hedrick who became elected politician after pleasing the majority by being vocal in our state. His name was Tim Eyman and he reduced our tax on car tabs. People of washington state now realize this guy just made a huge mess of things forcing the state to raise tax on other things. Tim is no longer a politician after scandal of taking money for himself instead of funding his promise to the people of washington state.

Have you ever served? Probably not. The military is structured, the civilian sector is not. That is why the 'socialized medical' aspect works. It won't work on the civilian sector.

In certain circumstances military personal are allowed to use civilian health-care. The care given by the 'socialized' military is better than anything else I have seen in the private sector. It's obvious you know nothing about the military. Also, the reason it is 'socialized' is because the government has an obligation to care for its troops and families. There is no obligation fro the the civilian sector. That is where free market comes in.

Unless you become disabled as a result of your service, you pay the VA like you would pay a doctor and you are given the option to keep carrying your insurance after service but at two to three times the cost. The only timeyour VA care is free is when seeing physicians regarding a disability or injury related to your service.

The military is as socialized as a company giving its staff the tools they need to do their job with, after you leave the service you have to return almost everything they issued you. Not to mention even while in the military you need permission to use any of your equipment.

Also before you bring up the VA benefits veterans get, its included in the contract when you sign up so its technically part of your payment for serving in the military.

What if Baird was an idiot republican? If this was the case then we would be stuck with him, in most states that is, because the two parties control the primaries. They decide who is going to run as a republican or a democrat, but not in Washington State. Washington is the only state with a truly open primary which was voted in about 5 years ago, and just last year it was found constitutional by the Supreme Court. If we are ever going to change things the other states need to emulate Washington.
