I'm surprised no one has mentioned that 3.6 V-6 is a joke the engine blow sup and they use them in Malibu Camaro Traverse/Acadia/Enclave and a few other vehicles. I thought GM was going away with the push rod engine thats what I was told. I still see them...
The interior doesn't look as well thought out as the REGAL's. I also think this car needs more power. A Car this large shouldn't roll out with anything less than 300HP.

Frankly, I think American cars should be limited to 75 mph - this way, there possibility of going to 100 becomes impossible and no one could possibly face arrest or license revoke over high speeding. But no one would go for that. All these cars need is enough power to go from 0 -60 in 7 seconds or less. For highway entrance purposes.

The 2010 Buick Lacrosse rides on the extended wheelbase Epsilon II platform, while the Opel Insignia is on the Short Wheel Base (SWB) Epsilon II, and utilizes totally different engines. However the Opel Insignia will be sold in the U.S. market as the 2011 Buick Regal, which is already being sold in China. The Regal is infact the Opel Insignia with a Buick grill.The vehicle will initially be imported from germany before production begins in Oshawa, Ontario. Check your Facts!
Performance seems a bit lackadaisical. I'd like to see performance figures of the 3.6L with the more elaborate suspension setup. But for that money, why not buy a CTS? I think GM made a retarded move by keeping Buick instead of Saturn or Pontiac.
I'm not completely sure but I'll give you the best answer I have. The skidpad measurement is lateral g's. How many g's developed while turning. The greater the g's the "stickier" the car is. So great g's means that the car is staying more flat and turning much cleaner.
This was the Buick my dad wanted to buy 9 years ago. Instead he got a Le Sabre. Rides great, but that thing's been in the shop so many damn times, got the same window motor replaced 3 times and it still makes noise, and our GM dealer charges too much for everything. So they finally make a "better", but they've already lost some of their customers who would've wanted it.
instead of spinning tires, the give the car some momentum to better transition the power to the ground...like you accelerate better from 10mph than you do from 0...

You could say the same thing about not needing Pontiac when you have Chevy. Buick is a different kind of luxury than Cadillac. Cadillacs are built to compete against the performance-oriented imports (i.e. BMW 5 Series), while Buick is more about comfort (i.e. Lexus ES).
Yeah, it looks nice, but its still a Buick. If they want to "fix their image", they need to work on a new Grand National. I think it would be a good idea, seeing as how turbos are more popular now, and Id LOVE to see a turbo on GMs new V6!
This car looks a lot better than the previous models. The numbers seem to be slightly below average. I don't judge until IIHS releases the crash ratings. Buick still only offers a limited choice of engines. I would like to see this car with a turbo diesel option. Great interior and finally a real nav system instead of that stupid on-star nav system.

@TheHm3 I do, i hate Buick with a passion, but starting in 2010 2011, the face and vehicles and design have entirely changed, except on that ugly Lucerne or whatever. I saw an enclave today and thought WOW, Buick is so cool now, lol. never thought Buick would become, "Cool" in a lifetime lol

@RickStylus: That's true, but personally I don't see anything wrong with Buick's using an existing design from another GM division overseas and making minor tweaks to put it into showrooms here in the USA. It's a lot cheaper, not to mention faster, for them to do that then to come up with totally new models from scratch. I think this 2010 Lacrosse and the upcoming 2011 Regal are a good start to giving Buick the boost in sales it needs here. JMO

The problem with designing a car to resemble a high-end Lexus, BMW or Benz is you can't have knock off pricing or the luxury car owners will view your car as a budget beater. The Hyundai Genesis is badass, but it's still badged as economized luxury. You won't get the swanky restaurant premium parking the 3 cars I mentioned get. On the other hand, you can't cheapen your brand by selling " affordable high-end luxury cars. Look at what happened to Jacguar.

i don't agree. people will view things the way that they want. shallow, but it doesn't validate anything. lexus concept was similar when it came out. give the consumer luxury but at a much cheaper price compared to BMW, which lexus copied in style anyways. it worked. Jaguar failed because they looked like the old Ford Taurus design.

The 2010 Buick Lacrosse rides on the extended wheelbase Epsilon II platform, while the Opel Insignia is on the Short Wheel Base (SWB) Epsilon II, and utilizes totally different engines. However the Opel Insignia will be sold in the U.S. market as the 2011 Buick Regal, which is already being sold in China. The Regal is infact the Opel Insignia with a Buick grill.The vehicle will initially be imported from germany before production begins in Oshawa, Ontario. Check your Facts!

Performance seems a bit lackadaisical. I'd like to see performance figures of the 3.6L with the more elaborate suspension setup. But for that money, why not buy a CTS? I think GM made a retarded move by keeping Buick instead of Saturn or Pontiac.

I'm not completely sure but I'll give you the best answer I have. The skidpad measurement is lateral g's. How many g's developed while turning. The greater the g's the "stickier" the car is. So great g's means that the car is staying more flat and turning much cleaner.

This was the Buick my dad wanted to buy 9 years ago. Instead he got a Le Sabre. Rides great, but that thing's been in the shop so many damn times, got the same window motor replaced 3 times and it still makes noise, and our GM dealer charges too much for everything. So they finally make a "better", but they've already lost some of their customers who would've wanted it.

You could say the same thing about not needing Pontiac when you have Chevy. Buick is a different kind of luxury than Cadillac. Cadillacs are built to compete against the performance-oriented imports (i.e. BMW 5 Series), while Buick is more about comfort (i.e. Lexus ES).

This car looks a lot better than the previous models. The numbers seem to be slightly below average. I don't judge until IIHS releases the crash ratings. Buick still only offers a limited choice of engines. I would like to see this car with a turbo diesel option. Great interior and finally a real nav system instead of that stupid on-star nav system.
