It was both of them singing soprano. tucker is colortura and bettye is lyric so it blending well but watch the video and there mother and u can see who hitting what note at what time
yes that is Glenn Burleigh on the piano. I remember singing under his direction in my teen years in Omaha, Nebraska. He truly had a gift from God. Every song that he wrote comes from the Holy Bible. I was blessed to have known him.
She is a true soprano. She has sung in many operas. She sang at Carnegie Hall. It is always a joy when I attend anywhere she sings. She realizes her blessings from God and travels internationally spreading the talent God with which God has blessed her. She is my cousin and we spend a lot of time praising God! We have for as long as I can remember.
Thank God I was there front and center. What a truly Holy Ghost filled night. Hallelujah!!! Love Betty..love Ms. Tucker...love all my church mommas', love all my brothers... love and miss Glenn. We shall always be what was Good Hope.

There is a distinct difference in voices! Dr Tucker has a rich operatic voice and high soprano and Dr Nelson has a softer voice soulful voice, u can definitely tell which is singing when & Barbara always seemed to get the higher note. Not saying it was a battle but if u really listen every high note Dr Nelson hit, Dr Tucker stepped higher. I love Dr. Nelson she added something significant to the song
They had SERIOUS church that day!!! I love the anointed spirit of this song. This is Gods people truly praising with their gift, not making money. I was blessed. Thanks!
barbara - you are "worship"! its lifestyle and you are at your heart a "worshiper"! I miss you can't wait to see you back in toledo. having a little post devotional worship just now, and you were invited virtually! :)
I'm speechless, I long to attend a recording like this where everything come together in perfection, a supperb choir, great musicians and two powerful and great singers this is a classic that will live in history as a landmark in Gospel singing. One question is this the same Betty Nelson that worked with the Late great doctor Mattie Moss Clark? Now I've got find where I can purchase this recording to add to my collection. Thanks for posting.
I never knew this guy was the one who the song actually belonged to. Thanks for sharing this important part of history that happened in my hometown ! It was to bad for me when this was made I was around the corner at a club.
Praise the Lord I had sense enough to pour out the liquor and come on inside the church. I been happy ever since.
This is a classic, thank you for sharing! I love Dr. Nelson and this is when I first fell in love. The high note battle is awesome 2 different styles coming together to worship. Love it. Thanks for posting

Barbara is doing entirely too much for the song. I love how Bettye is nice and mellow with the song.

That lady is a super soprano, she needs to be in some operas. They both sound awesome and them singing together is such a treat.

I think this is completely classic. Let us also not ever forget Glenn Burleigh who has went home to claim his reward for his service.
