@AeroSWIFTy I have had my guinea pigs for 5 years now, and really all guinea pigs are great pets. mine are short-haired multi-coloured sweeties. they wouldnt hurt a fly, and they've never bitten me. I think once they mistook my finger for a carrot, but that was only a nibble. to be honest I think as your first i'd go for short-haired, you dont have to worry too much about grooming and they're adorable little things. this is my first pair, and i'm so glad I bought them. good luck!

My guinea pig named Zak just died today in a Family Park ;( I just bought him November 19,2011 my birthday....and he died December 16,2011. I thought he would reach 1 month, but he didn't................................he died T_T and HE didn't even experience and saw how I celebrate Christmas w/ my family and with him............................................................anyway Gerald you got a nice guinea pigs and I wish that that guinea pig would live for more many many years ; )
