That´s probably because you're playing on the pc... you don't need to throttle completely, otherwise you'll drift like you just did... try looking at the other drivers, they don't really need to tilt their n64 stick all the way to the right, they just gently turn and tilt their ship a bit, with R. So unless you get a joystick, don't play that game.

Yes, it was based off of the Rainbow Road tracks from the Mario Kart Series, since they both lack edges, and both games are made by Nintendo.
