does the cases affect the speaker quality? It looks as though the case would affect the audio out sound. In other words it would decrease it. I am assuming this b.c I have the iphone 3gs and if you cover the opening it reduces the sound quality

I own both. I prefer this one as far as protection. My iPhone 3GS bounces when I've dropped it with the Speck TS. But the Otterbox Defender does not (more of a "thunk!"). Both are nice. In fact the Otterbox Defender (black and yellow) looks sweet! But I prefer utility and I'm getting the Speck TS when the iPhone 5 comes out. I'm going to keep testing the Otterbox Defender on my 3GS until then.

Not only would that be a dust/lint magnet the clip looks like it would be a cheap plastic. Also i could be wrong because it wasn't really shown but it doesn't look like the clip had a little lip to tuck underneath your belt to prevent it from falling off. Over all, I've seen better.

It does at first. But when you use it more the oil from your hands make it less magnetized and more smoothed out. It used to stick to my jeans when I put it in my pocket. Not as much now.

Hi Mike,Like i mentioned in watching Larry's video,This version look's to be well easier to install and take off,Which can only be a goos thing,The otterbox is still a good case compared to this but is very time consuming to install,so that's where this Speck case come's into it's own,being able to use your phone without the outer sleave is another + point IMO,Price is rather attractive,nice holster too :)

looks nice, like the feature that you can slip it out of the rubber part to charge in a stand then slide back in super fast when charged up. think that would be a good selling feature over the Otterbox Defender IMO

Well, it's a lot better looking than the otter box, that cut out for the silent switch is pretty useless. Wonder why there's not just a notch? Might as well just covered it.
