  • erik514 -

Those days had their share of garbage too, but I agree that today's Excremental-Music-Index seems to be through the roof.

  • Man, oh, man!

    Excremental-Music-Index...

One of the most fucing righteous definition ever seen!!

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh....shame , shame , shame......

  • SHIRLEY MOOOOOOVE??

  • Trivia for fans : this Shirley was the Shirley that sang in duet, 20 years before, with Lee in the ab fab track "Let the good times roll"..Who knew????????????

  • Oh my god she looks so good in this clip!!

Wow Wow thanks for posting...this angel.

  • great song =)

  • Great, great, shit. Just don't get stuff like this anymore.

  • Great Voices! I actually have this album and love every track. The cover is animated and it features Shirley scolding Former President Nixon as this song came out shortly after the whole Watergate fiasco. Amazing Video. Thanks for posting.

  • Wow! This is a real odd couple. I wonder how they ended up together?

  • I thought he was dancing a cool jig, but if you look really close it's because he also has some very tall platforms. Still, a great dance for soulful voices.

  • CLASSic!

  • WOW have not heard this in years Thank you so much for putting this up!!

  • hi ang!

    ''Ti'ts'' ONLY me..anth :)

    LOL

  • This is such an excellent song. Beautiful, just great!

  • nice so good !!!!

  • O, boy, how I remember swinging to this tune at high school... And in my head she survived as a truly HUGE soulful lady, but now I see she wasn't that huge at all, just beautiful and soulful. Thanks Shirley, for making the background music of my youth so truly great.

  • A great song, should be used as a back drop to youth drug abuse. It may work... well, a little... Shame these kids onto the Right Path.

    P xx

  • Ah génial cette chanson , j'adore !!

  • excellent

    i love disco!!

  • Im wondering why people always sing this song to me in the karaokes?

Play this song while watching Richard Nixon waving to his staff boarding the helicopter and going to San Clemente and you've just made a quantum leap.I liked you dick but Shame on you. Shirley died in New Orleans july 5 2005 a month and a half before Katrina hit .

  • awesome groove - love this song!!

  • Jesus Alvarez & Shirley Goodman sing their asses off - this song is scorching! What a groove!

  • For all that its worth, hes not "white", he's Cuban, and he's my pastor at Love Of Jesus Family Church in Orange, NJ

Jason Alvarez (at this time period his name was Jesus Alvarez)

You think the guy can sing.......you should hear him on bass!!!!!!!!!! Nasty!!!!!!!!!!

  • "For all that its worth, hes not "white", he's Cuban."

Thanks so much for clarifying that. I had noticed that he's definitely NOT caucasian nor white, as some would term it.

He has great moves, great body, great voice. Great song. RIP Ms. Shirley

  • WOW!WOW! I thought the guy was a brother. This is a cool song but they could, have added a lot more soul to the song they're both on the stiff side. I thnk they should have danced a lot better.

  • thankgod for these songs ..:) im only 14 but i love old music

  • Wait...that was a WHITE DUDE??????

  • Pleaase, explain to me. I am brazilian and in my countrie we live among like equals. All the races. What's with the diference in USA?

  • Netomacedo - it's no problem that it's a white guy -- I was surprised because he doesn't sound white on the recording. He's very soulful and with the falsetto voice, I thought he was a brother (black).

  • Oh. Yes, he really sounds like a black guy. Incredible falsetto's too.

I remember hearing this music when I was about 7 years in some old vinyls my mother had. That's a beautiful music. And there is so much more that you produced in united states. I wish I had more old vinyls with music like that. That's a mess my sound system that played the discs is broken. =)

  • Cluesign, I thought he was black until I saw this video.

  • OK, thanks HiDoll22, I thought it was only me! Hollerlwb - that's cool that he's a pastor. How did he ever hook up with Shirley? I rocked my booty to that tune back in the day -- here in NYC, at LeJardin - a long-departed disco that pre-dated Studio 54.

  • WOW! Has he always been a pastor? I wonder how he a Shirley got together also. On a sad note she died in 2005

  • hidoll22,

My Mom played this song all the time. I love this song, but I thought that he was African American also. He sing with soul.....

  • Black and White = Magnificent!!

Hope a metaphor is in-store...33 yrs later!

They certainly don't make them like that anymore.....

  • the guy screams like a woman, but he's really great...so cool...groovy! i seldom dance but this one made me...yeah!

  • I was once given a load of second hand records in the 70's. One of them was called 'Kid Games And Nursery Rhymes' by Shirley and Alfred. I often thought it might be the same people who made this record but have never been able to find out. Does anyone know?

  • That is Shirley of Shirley and Lee who sang the golden oldie from the 1950's "Let the Good times roll".

  • Muy bueno!! Great!!

  • After searching finally found. Great!!!

  • He's a pastor now? Well, praise the Lord. I love this song.

  • Great to see Jesus Alvarez who sang, wrote and produced some great stuff in the 70's.I have most of his 45's on All Platinum,Epic and Polydor labels and goups he worked with like Nicky and the Newarkers and the Willow Band(Willow Man 12").An lp was cut for Polydor but i don't think it saw the light of day.He was also lead singer for the Dupree's final chart record-Delicious-on RCA Victor and wrote Somewhere In My Lifetime recorded by the late Phyllis Hyman

  • Oh wow don't i feel like a foll, all these years. There was me thinking 2 chicks sung this song..............

  • When i listen to this i think of From first to last's Shame shame.

    THis says shame on you.

From first to last's says shame on me.

    I like the both.

    Both are opposites.:P

  • You're welcome. Thanks to your hsuband for this great song !!

    Visalis

  • This is a great song period..BUT the guy singer IS the secret weapon here...he was locked in the day he recorded this. You tell him for me...this is on of the great 70s pop moments!

  • "I got my sun roof down, with a diamond in the back...

Put on your shaggy wig now woman , or I ain't comin back"

    Folks...that is solid gold!

  • cute song great high voices

  • the song "Fame" by Bowie and Lennon was born with this bad tune...and I mean bad in the best possible way ( :

  • So much funk oozing from that funky guitar, I got goosebumps!

  • lol

  • what most of you don't know it that male singer is Jason Alvarez and has been a pastor and founder of Love of Jesus Family Churches all over the world. His home church though is in "Orange, NJ. He's a great guy does a lot of good things for the people. I've been searching all day for this song

    Thanks, brings back memories.

  • I loved this song as a kid....who knew 'and company' was a white dude...I pictured a Nell Carter look-a-like....

  • Yeah the guy looks like "Jack Black" from Nacho Libre and "School of Rock"....not a pretty sight. Love the song though! :)

  • Step back in time.... to learn..........

  • Brings back memories of my youth...I remember

how I rushed to the record store to buy it..as a matter of fact I have the 45 single and it still sounds good..

  • big dancing hit in France in the mid-70's.

Cool to listen to it again and watch this video!

    thanx

  • A really fun song -- it's hard not to start moving when you hear it. :-)

  • Damn.. This song is the business!! Timeless.. I was a kid in the back seat of my parents car listening to this on their 8 track!!

  • Man, I was just a little kid when my mom got this 45. It's one of the first songs that taught me how to dance and it still makes me want to shake a tail feather when I hear it.

Incidentally, the guy reminds me of Jack Black....

  • This is the version that made this song one of my all time favorites. Currently have about 20 different artist performing this song but this one really stands out.

  • That white dude can really get down.

  • Shirley IS the Boss!!!

Love this ...Thanks for showing it,xo

  • I was probably conceived to that song with its 70s ancestors to Oprah Winfrey and Grizzly Adams stunt double.

  • Shirley was Thee Boss!

    Nuff said.

  • It is amazing to see how the video looks so old, but the music still is so "contemporary". This is what makes it so fabulous... Being able to go through the decades without losing anything. My daughters (6 and 3) listen to that tune and love it so much!

  • Whooeeeee! Only those suburbanites who lack all soul can deny the groove of this jam!

  • This is the music that defined 1975. Enough said.

  • I was four in 1975 and i don't know why i've always remembered this song, parents used to listen to it while driving and i think it made me love disco for ever. Thank you so much for that patitgaston, so great.

  • I fragging LOVE this song...it's so like my favourite to dance to....thank you for sharing!! Love you so! Peace!

  • Anyone know who the original was by?

  • this makes the whole depressing disco thing look fun.

great tune, one of the best car radio songs ever.

  • I can remember dancing to this at Penny Farthing Southend with the Rocking Goose as the DJ. Brilliant!!!!!!

  • GREAT PREACHER

  • there dronk

  • Out fucking standing !

  • I bought this record in 1975, i had forgotten about it I loved it then, I love it now!!!32 years later.the girl in the record shop who sold it to me was a horrid bitch lol

  • this was the jam back in the day.

  • Wow, that's so cool! But, I think that there's a version of this song in which video an impersonator of the Queen Elizabeth appears. Can anyone tell me whose video is that? Thanx in advance!

  • Fuck You

  • Right !

  • Shame Shame Shame Shame on you! The start of disco music begins here. Even though it is neither disco, it still considered a 70s soul classic and the best song offered from 1975. A really, funky, gritty song that needs to be on radio stations pronto..

  • fab

  • I actually own the copy of the is EXTEMELY Rare LP to this song. It has a drawing of Shirley and Nixon on the cover. The whole LP is great. Had no Idea the guy that sang with her was WHITE! Amazing!

  • he is actually cuban!

  • My LP has "Disco Dynamite" written on both the front and back, but the Nixon image is on the booklet of my CD. My favorite tracks are "Jim Doc Kay", "Love Is" and "Gotta Get Next To You".

  • Love this song!!!!!!

  • Hah, I found this song by reading the book "Danser Elias? Nei!" by Katarina Kieri.. Oo

    It's pretty good. Funky. :D

  • Thank you soooooooooooooooo much for this video....What a lovely memories....Thanks a lot !!!!

  • If you want more music by the man singing go to theloveofjesus org and click on music tab. And yes that is him on the opening page.

  • this is that sugar-shack down deep south music... shirley & company did it right. my dad has a load of records that sounds just like this by artist I never heard of before dating back to the 50's.

  • Feckin funky or what!...get up get down...whoops I'm doing the pigeon funk..

  • This is on a lot of disco anthologies because it tends to bridge the gap between the two. But no matter what, the song is awesome.

  • I loveeeeee this song. Thanks for posting it.

  • I had the 45 RPM to this cut when I was a shorty!!! Classic Jam!

  • great i love it, the memories thanks!
