  • Absolutely wonderful. ^^ Yasuko from Hannari-ya actually recommended your video to me through an email. Great job and thank you very much for posting. I love your little trick to make your eyes look more like an almond shape. It really works too. :) Ookini arigatou san dosu.

  • Wow this is a fantastic video! You did an amazing job and you look fantastic with the wig! Have you attempted the W pattern on the back of the neck or are you still practicing that? The Maiko make it look easy!!! lol :-)

  • lucky you:) do you live in Japan? I would love to have the stuff you do ( the make up, wigs, kimono under garments ect.) Ookini!:) ps good vid!

  • @kakumee Hey :) Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed the video. No I live in Paris but i have invested a lot of time and money to gather all the accurate elements. I still have a few things to find though :p

  • GOOD

  • Is that the Hannari-ya set?

  • @tsukimichan Yes it is :) It's really great :D I highly recommend it :D

  • You and your makeup are absolutely gorgeous.

  • @epierce001 Thank you so much ! *blush*

  • Great look!

  • Very nice presentation. But you forgot the special two-leg design on the back of the neck if you want the genuine Kyoto Maiko look!

  • @Sotkai11 Hey :) Thanks for the reminder, and i was expecting such a comment along the way.

It is called "Eri ashi", just so you know :)

I purposely did not include that part since I usually get help for it : I am not flexible enough to do it right using the 2 mirror method.

I am sure all the true maiko lovers know it has to be part of the makeup ! This tutorial is for the face make up since that is what people will look at ;)

  • You are so beautiful and convincing! I still look like a scary clown when I do mine and I STILL haven't managed to get the eyes down yet w/o looking all. . . .muddy. Very helpful. Wonderful video! What was the ratio of water/oshiroi paste that you used?

  • @TheCasualWarrior Thank you so much for your kind words! About the water / oshiroi ratio, it is hard to say since I follow my instinct every time, But I'd say make it a little thicker than milk but not too pasty otherwise it will crack anywhere you have expression lines!

  • @TheCasualWarrior: Thank you so much! I'll just have to keep practicing! ;) I appreciate all of your help!

  • Awesome work... i'll be doing a shoot and this'll help the make up artist doing my face... i can show her how it's done... or i could just do it myself lol...

  • @DragonGeisha82 Glad to hear this has been helpful :) Do not hesistate to ask me anything if you need more info :)

  • @chipie2485 i must admit i did stalk you via Immortal Geisha lol... when it get's closer to the date (of the shoot) i may bombard you with questions >_>

  • You look awesome! The best non Japanese (and not real geisha) geiko/maiko make up I've ever seen! You are absolutely talented in this!

  • Lovely! Thank you very much for sharing! I love your maiko henshin's!

  • wow...... best Maiko makeup I have ever seen a person do themselves! fantastic job!! you remind me of Geiko Suzuha!

  • Wow, I never realized how much work it took to do a geisha makeup. You look fantastic!
