  • its the wings of plane

  • could that chop off ur dick?

  • Thanks!

  • what is the material of the wire used?

  • I took a hot tempered wire at the hardware store. Normal galvanized wire did not substain the heat.

  • gues you're making wings for rc plane ;) am i right?

  • Its making a foam dildo

  • Very professional!!!

  • I like it you should tell how to make it!!!

  • will it cut copper metal

  • no way ! It's just melting the foam by heat , the wire is even not red hot

  • nice video, what equipment did you use to put current through the wire?

  • I used a computer power supply and a homemade controller with step motor control IC chips.

  • will it cut metal like copper ,stain less steel

  • Watts = Volts x Amps, its the watts that determine how fast / how much foam u will cut

  • What would you say is more responsible for heating: Volts or Amps?

  • Amps !

  • thx

  • power is responsible for heating...which is volts x amps

  • OMG! so smooth!!! my blue foam,i hev to cut it only with cutting knife..huhuuh,,so hard..

  • Nice work! how much? what is the max size foam u can cut? it looks like it was too hot on entry.

  • Excelet work!!! What program re u running? Bescause it moves too fast in the curves. I got a foamcutter but in the curves it moves too slow. There too much nodes. Im using kcam.

  • Thank's ! I am using Kcam also. This video is accelerated 4 times 'cause you can't go very fast in hot wire cutting. To avoid to much nodes , you can use Circle interpolation instead of Point by point. Depends on the toolpath programming soft. that you are using.

  • Can you do a "How to build" the hot wire machine? That would be great!

  • this is amazing, where can i get the software or will any CAD program work ?

  • Use any CAD software to make your desired shape. Then use Kcam , Mach3 , turbocnc etc. to drive the machine

  • Summerride, if you ever decide to publish "How To Build Your Own CNC Hotwire Machine" I'll buy a copy. Way Cool Machine!

  • Way cool CNC hotwire! You give me some great ideas on building my CNC hotewire. Thanks

  • is there any other way of building the wings?

  • should i buld my first airplane or should i buy one first?

  • haha buy one! depends on how much you know about planes though.

  • how did you get the hot wire did you just take a pice of wire and put volts into the wire or did you buy it how could i make one that dosen't need a compurer but just runs by hand how much did the frame cost?

  • The wire is a simple hardened steel wire bought at the hardware store. Then I put AC 24V current thru it. DC current will get the wire hot only in the middle. The frame of the cutting machine is made from vertical shade beam , some ball bearings , wood and treaded rod. Cutting this kind of shape by hand is not easy because just a little shake in your hand will make the wire cut really bad.

  • is it guided from a computer how did you get the wing patern?

  • I draw the wing pattern on a CAD software and then make the tool path for it. Then I put the "G code" in another software that pushed bits thru the parallel port of the computer. The a controller decodes those bits into motor motion.

  • how did you make that?

  • so this is what you used to cut the plane's wings.. right?? :D

  • Right ! Wings , fuselage and depron.
