Louis Armstrong and Jack Teagarden had an amazing sense of harmony when they sang together; their voices were like instruments; they could direct them in whatever manner they wished. They complemented and brought out the best in each other.
Everybody knows Louis but the truth is nearly every jazz singer or player owes a debt to both of these master stylists. The two of them together is just divine.
How could anyone not have a huge smile on their face while watching this. Louis always makes me smile. He just had so much fun playing and was the ultimate showman. Louis and Jack were friends for many years, and its just great to see their friendship and showmanship together on stage. Thanks for posting this.
No one, except Louis Prima and Keely Smith, had as much fun on stage as Louis Armstrong and Jack Teagarden; they were in a class by themselves.
