  • @alainhammond Thank you Alain. I appreciate your approval of my new arranger setup.

    Leon

  • You made as always again a great job. I like it. Thanks for posting it

  • @6Heureka Thank you Jochen. I am happy that you like this style of playing music.

    Leon

  • Hi Leon!

I know this nice famous melody for years

Congrats to your play with Ketron SD4 sound module.

This performance can be presented in a jazz local everywhere.

    Very smooth play my friend!

As "bakersfielaccordon" has noticed below, you only press in the "lazy midi style" the necessary accord buttons for controlling the accompaniment.

  • @Accordioncrasy Sorry for not responding sooner. Thank you for your accurate observations. It is good to call it "lazy midi style" because it helps others realize that although the music sounds complex, it is actually very easy to play. The computer does most of the work.

  • very good song !

  • @roddickyuen Thanks for listening.

    Leon

  • Very nice, Leon. I had forgotten what a beautiful melody this is, and quickly added it to my repetoire.

At 1st I was confused by your left hand movement until I realized you are moving to the next chord as soon as you've hit the current one. That definitely gives you more time to make the long jumps. As I recall, you only have to hit the chord button for a split second for the arranger to do its magic, right?

Although I like the clarinet, optionally the sax would really add a "sultry" sound.

    R

  • @bakersfieldaccordion Thanks Richard. You're correct on the operation of the chord buttons. I hit one and then immediately release it, leaving the arranger to play the accompaniment pattern in that chord until the music calls for a different chord, at which point I strike another chord button. This gives me more time to locate the next button. Thus playing an arranger is easier than playing the full accordion accompaniment in the conventional manner.

  • @myaccordionhistory At the same time playing an arranger is restrictive in the sense that I must play along with standard accompaniment patterns. But for a person like myself who is currently at the beginning of Level 3 Palmer-Hughes, it allows me to play much more embellished music for family and friends. It is similar to how a keyboardist plays a Tyros using its auto accompaniment features.

  • @myaccordionhistory Playing with an arranger is lots of fun, using either a conventional one like the Ketron or Audya, or a virtual one as I have set up. But at the same time I fully intend to continue my standard accordion lessons and thus improve my general skills playing conventional accordion accompaniment.

  • @myaccordionhistory I agree that the sax sound would be nice with this piece. I imagine how wonderful you could make it sound. As I gain proficiency playing with an arranger, and as I watch more of your videos, I hope to improve my orchestration skills.

  • León ha tenido un expectacular progreso gracias a su constancia, enhorabuena

    Saludos Pilar

  • @Pilarfay Pilar. Gracias por su aprobación de mi experimentación con las estrategias para la producción de música electrónica.

    Saludos León

  • Very Very good!!!!

    Congratulations.

    Hugo.

  • @musimedic Thank you Hugo for listening.

    Leon

  • So smooth, Leon. Personally I would have liked the accompaniment a little louder, but this is so very good.

    Mike

  • @ImaLanger Thank you Mike. I agree about the accompaniment level. It was a hard decision for me due to my lack of experience in these matters. Also, I don't yet have the setup to record in separate tracks, so after I've recorded I don't have the ability to adjust the relative levels. Once I've recorded, that's it! Over time I hope to improve such equipment limitations.

  • Very well done!!

    Diego

  • @diealocan Thank you Diego.

  • super job Leon, I haven't heard you for a while and I am realy impressed with the way you have progressed, an absolutely brilliant performance, well done and keep up the good work !!!

  • The sound is amazing. Excellent performance. You have come a long way Leon! I am impressed....Your attention to detail has definitely paid off. Fran

  • @AccordionLadyMi Thank you Fran. I really appreciate your postive reaction to me playing with an arranger. I still have a lot of kinks to work out in my setup.
