  • This pedal definitly don't worth for the money.

  • Why was this pedal discontinued?

  • @anidemolimacnauj

Because it is muddy shit with lack of gain, dynamics and so noisy!

  • I came here because someone told me this pedal was great for sounds like electric wizard. So please take a SG, tune it way down, smoke a big joint and gimme some serious doom man!

  • Sounds like a Digitech Multi Efects Patch. Im not a Mesa hater but really this is not worth the price.

  • this is uh very uh effective in uh getting a uh uh high gain uh tone

  • A can't really call it a pedal. It's more like a preamp striped off an amp and put at your feet.

  • Very good demo. I'm looking into this pedal. Could you tell me about the les paul that you are playing in the demo. Thank you

  • could you tell me about the guitar that you are playing in the demo? Thank you. I'am interested in this pedal but I have reservations about all the adj. I feel I may search for ever and never find the "tone". Jury is still out. Very good demo. Thank you.

  • OMG somebody actually using a 7 string on a demonstration video? about damn time

  • I have a Mesa Trident Stiletto. The distortion from this pedal can comes close to my Mesa head. DC Demonizer RULES (sorry for my weakest english)

  • This thing is awesome ! With it I make my Tansistor Bass Amp to an badder Tube Amp than a Mesa M9 :)

    Damage Control FTW !

  • Why does it have that ragged, fizz in the top end. That doesn't sound good. Is the camera mic clipping? Even when you roll down the gutiar's volume it has that funny fizz in the top end. Is that just the type of break up from this pedal?

  • @stratthead know what you mean. Mine has that fizzy sound too. I don't like that. I often bypass the second tube and let it run trough a Reussenzehn tube booster. Way better sound that way. For the high gain an AMT pedal on the end. Damage control has stopped making these machines. Were they worth the price? Quess so. High quality!

  • this pedal is huge

  • this pedal is giant

  • can i play metal with this pedal?

  • jol van,fasza gyerek vagy.

  • My damage control pedal has a bad feedbacking problem.

There's a constant bzzzzzzzz sound whenever I engage the pedal.

It sounds great except for this problem.

  • @jmedran have you checked the tubes? Contact us at support AT damagecontrolusa DOTcom and we can help you.

  • hi,iam from indonesia.where damage control delaer in indonesia.thanks

  • i can produce the metal sound using my satchurator and equalizer to my laney cub 10 amp...

  • Sounds like the distortion on my Marshall AVT.

  • @andy92811

    oooohhhh burn!

  • Is this pedal really worth the $300? Im into classic rock, and thrash metal, and from what ive seen on it i can get the tone i want, by my metal zone works perfect for the genres i play, just curious if its worth buying

  • @chafin1993 I have this exact same question, is it worth the price?

  • @chafin1993 this is a tube pedal so it sounds like a tube amps distortion, so pretty much better more natural sounding distortion compared to a solid state pedal like a boss metal zone

  • @chafin1993 hey, can you tell me what is the perfect pedal for megadeth's rust in peace tone?

  • sik, I want one for my Randal Rg100es.

  • @DALE97DSM I cant imagine why youd need it..the rg100 has plenty of gain...just get a OD if its not enough..distortion pedals have a tone on their own so Id only suggest getting a full on distortion if you dont have a gain channel already. otherwise just stick with an od, so your amps tone isnt masked.

  • *cries*......had I the 400 I would definitly get it

  • Does it work well with a Tech21 Power Engine??

  • Could have more gain D:

  • hmmm...solid metal or demonizer...?

  • ahhh i want this!

  • Do you have to change the tubes in tube distortion pedals just like you would in tube amps?

  • IF you can get all of those clean sounds out of the demonizer why would you need the womanizer?

  • Good demonstration,

he really got into depth about all the possibilities,

Nice quality unit I must admit it sounds good , especially in clean and semi crunch,

never expected a pedal named demon to have great clean tones, especially when the volume is rolled off!

The player here has a good touch too,

    thanks for posting this,

  • sorry but you talk a little too much. get on with the gear because thats all we want to hear. good tone though:D nice playing as well

  • great sound !!

  • This is a good demonstration but if you listen to this video with studio monitor headphones you'll notice a lot of undesired noise. Of course it's not the pedal, but they should be careful when they upload videos to youtube.

  • brother Descalabro

because by the laws of physics to get great tube tone and drive a hot tube it is natural that there is "noise" its part of the vibe. When using any "hi gain " tube device if you want complete sience when you are not playing then the use of a noise gate device is crucial. There is no perfectly quiet hi gain tube box because it imposible. The best sounding hi gain tube boxes all have the natural hum. Just get a noise gate inline and adjust the threshold to your style.

  • @MAMAKICKSASSS brother mamakicksasss, I know about that, but I was mentioning clipping noises and such, not the normal background noise. The clipping isn't enough to hurt your ears, but there is clipping on this video that could have been avoided with more careful engeneering. I was just refering to the fact that this video, being from a pedal seller, could avoid such noises.

  • ANGRY BEES!!!

  • Are you plug into studio monitors? which kind?

  • slipknot sound^^

  • Where the hell can you even buy this?

  • Just wondering what difference it would be if the guitar had a high gain pickup instead of mini buckers. Would that even make a difference in a totally high gain preamp?

  • Yes it would, but mostly in tonality ..

You'd have the first tube overdriving a bit more so it changes the gain character.

It's subtle though, I'd reckon it'd be a bit brighter and tighter.

  • @detubo Actually today's distortion toys are so extreme that you don't need ultra high gain pickups to play extreme metal, but there are some people who want more and more destruction. Lower output pickups have more clarity and higher output ones are more biffy, so anyone can get what he/she wants. I prefer pickups with less power because I want clean channel to be clean and twangy. :D

  • maravilhosooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, great distortion

  • the clean wasn't very clean

  • The pedal does what it does and very well. If you engage it it has to give some even little distortion..It is a TUBE distortion pedal. If you don't want clean then no need to "enagage" you have it on bypass. We are talking tru tube distortion here. Not made in china electronic sircuit distortion. Got my Solid metal and it is awesome. More razor sharp (treble) distortion than the Demonizer I recon..One of the best pedals in terms of pure-natural distortion i have ever played in 25 years.

  • *If you don't want clean "....If you want clean , you let by pass I meant.

  • anyone notice how noisy it got when he turned up the gain?...

  • Yeah, I heard the nois. Who didn't? Thats why he always turns down the volume knob instead of just muting...

But no reason to worry, any pedal makes these sounds with this extremly cranked up setting.

  • I can't have my amp and cab with me for DI to PC recording all the time and am searching a handy tube preamp.

I use a lot of effects pedals-would use them before the demonizer-Does that work well (tube warmth)?

Am wondering If it has a recording output without speaker sim, because I'm using impulse responses for that purpose (variety).Or can I simply use the regular output (tried that before with my pedal board, and I had to use a lot of vsts to make it sound "tubelike")?

    would this help me?

  • Pedals before the Demonizer will work just fine. Putting the effect before or after the distortion depends on what type of effect you are looking for.

If you have a cab sim plugin, you can use the amp out and do the cab sim in software. We have tried this. We like our analog cab sim but to each his own.

  • thank you!

Well wonderful. I added it to my to-buy-list ;-P

I would surely use the analog cab sim too, just not all the time.

    the demonizer really sounds awesome!

  • damage PETE what's up man.....

  • Stunning. Its fantastic sounding in conjunction with the Les Paul and absolutely brutal with the Ibanez.

    Do. Want.

  • Great review!
