Shields have about same ground game as jon fitch and josh koscheck. Also alves, penn, koscheck and even hardy have much better striking than shields. Gsp dominated all of them, so how shields can defeat gsp if he didnt even defeated kampmann clearly???

@babyface0514 That fight was 6 years ago, fitch improved alot after that. Look at fitch's mma record until 2005. He didnt defeated no one strong opponent, and almost lost against jeff joslin. Jake shields also improved, but not so much.

Agreed. Shields striking looks hokey-dokey. He's vastly superior on the ground, though. I saw a jiu-jitsu competition, in which GSP competed and lost quite handily to a Brazlian fighter; I forget the name. But Shields easily defeated this fighter (in less than 5 minutes) in the same kind of competition. But I think GSP because Shields' standup is seriously lacking. If Shields could strike decently, then I'd say GSP was in for a long night.
